Eden Hazard’s Real Madrid career hits new low as Ancelotti reveals he ‘prefers other players’ to ex-Chelsea star

EDEN HAZARD’S Real Madrid career has been dealt a fresh blow as boss Carlo Ancelotti revealed he prefers other stars.

The Italian admitted that Hazard’s in good shape at the moment but the ex-Chelsea winger is not currently one of his personal favourites in the Real squad.

When asked why the Belgian didn’t feature in last week’s Clasico, Marca reported Ancelotti saying: “Hazard is ready, but his problem right now is that he has a coach who prefers other players, which can happen in a squad like this one.”

According to Marca, one of Ancelotti’s favoured stars is Vinicius Jr who’s been in stunning form this season.

The 21-year-old Brazilian has already scored seven goals and provided five assists in just 12 games this season.

Therefore, the Italian manager seems to prefer a front three consisting of Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Vinicius.

However, Ancelotti hasn’t completely written off Hazard’s first-team chances and reckons the 30-year-old can win him over if he continues to work hard.

And if he does, the Italian is convinced Hazard will get his time to shine at some point this season.

The 62-year-old added: “The important thing is that he stays motivated and works hard so that he can play again, and he is doing that.

“His time will come. I’m convinced he’ll be back to his best at some point this season.”

But, according to Lille’s academy director Jean-Michel Vandamme, Hazard’s patience could be wearing thin and he may seek a move away from the Bernabeu.

Hazard’s former club Chelsea could provide him with an escape as reports claim Blues chairman Roman Abramovich is keen to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.

And the Russian’s Hazard pursuit could prove successful as El Nacional reported that Real president Florentino Perez is open for negotiations.

Although the report says Perez wants at least £42m for Hazard who cost £130m in 2019.

The ex-Blues forward’s Real career has been hampered with injuries which has seen him make only 51 appearances in all competitions since heading to Spain.
