Cristiano Ronaldo’s mum holds Sporting Lisbon flag on jet to watch Juventus star after vowing to convince him to return

CRISTIANO RONALDO’S mum Dolores has ramped up speculation over her son’s future at Juventus by showing off a Sporting Lisbon flag before travelling on a jet to visit the Portuguese star.

Prior to setting off to watch Ronaldo compete for Juventus in the Coppa Italia final against Atalanta on Wednesday, she could not resist a shot of her holding the Sporting banner.

It comes after Dolores promised last week to discuss with her son the possibility of him return to Sporting, where he left for Manchester United in 2003.

Speaking on an Instagram story, she said: “I’ll speak to him, he’ll be at Sporting next year, I’ll convince him.”

However, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has put the brakes on any talk of him returning to Portugal.

He told Record: “Cristiano is proud of the title Sporting won, as he has shown publicly.

“But, for now, his plans don’t include Portugal.”

Dolores shared another photo on her Instagram on Wednesday of her with Ronaldo and added the caption: “Good luck son, hope you have a great game.

“We are with you.”

Ronaldo is on the verge of leaving Juventus and has reportedly been isolated by the Old Lady dressing room as his team-mates believe he has too much freedom.

Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport claim tensions are boiling over in Turin after the Portuguese missed training last week.

And on Wednesday Ronaldo fuelled speculation even further that he is leaving Juventus by loading his £17 million car collection into a trailer.

Ronaldo has scored 101 goals in 132 games since joining the Serie A side in 2018.

However, Juventus have failed to win a tenth successive domestic league this season after Inter Milan clinched a first scudetto in more than a decade.

Andrea Pirlo’s men were also embarrassingly dumped out of the Champions League in the last 16 at the hands of Porto.

Ronaldo was brought in to clinch European glory for Juventus, but after three seasons with the club they have failed to go beyond the quarter-finals.
