Chelsea and Man Utd ‘offer Lucas Vazquez’ a contract with Real Madrid deal set to end in months

LUCAS VAZQUEZ is set to be offered a contract by both Manchester United and Chelsea, according to reports.

The Real Madrid star is out of contract at the end of the season and is rumoured to have told his current club he will not be signing a new deal.

According to Spanish newspaper ABC, United, Chelsea, AC Milan and Bayern Munich are all willing to offer the 29-year-old a four-year deal worth more than he currently earns.

Madrid, meanwhile, are believed to have offered Vazquez a new three-year contract worth 10 per cent less than his existing deal.

The player, who can play anywhere down the right, is said to have rejected their advances.

Several clubs continue to be linked with Vazquez as he enters the final few months of his current contract.

Bayern are believed to be leading the race, with some reports claiming he is in advanced talks with the German champions.

Everton are also rumoured to be interested in signing the Spain international as they look to become a force under Carlo Ancelotti.

And even Leeds have been linked with a move, although it seems unlikely they can compete with Europe’s richest clubs.

Vazquez has achieved significant success since joining Madrid as a 16-year-old in 2007.

After spending years in the reserves, his chances of making it at the Bernabeu looked slim when he joined Espanyol in 2014.

But after an impressive season on loan, Vazquez returned to Madrid in 2015 to finally make his senior debut, aged 24.

Since then he’s not looked back, winning three Champions League titles and LaLiga twice.

He has made nine appearances for Spain, featuring at the 2018 World Cup.
