  • GAME OFF

From a footballing perspective – it is a shame for fans of the Premier league.

It would have been intriguing to see how Spurs attempted to bounce back from their disappointing loss away at Mura in midweek.

It may have been a poor spectacle in the snow- as Dyche and referee Peter Bankes referred to.

  • SEAN DYCHE SPEAKS

“The ref explained to me that we’d have to keep stopping and clear the lines.

    “Also, there’s the safety issue.

“I made it clear that I would play if we could.”

  • PETER BANKES SPEAKS

Today’s referee spoke to Sky Sports News.

“The ground staff worked as hard as they could.”

“The best thing to do was to call the game off – which we did after speaking to both managers.”

“There was going to be an opportunity to stop the game every 15 minutes but both managers were in agreement that the spectacle wouldn’t have been very good.”
