Atletico Madrid have made a decisive step towards the LaLiga title after beating Real Sociedad 2-0 at the Wanda Metroplitano Stadium.
Atletico opened the scoring after just 16 minutes when Marcos Llorente found Yannick Carrasco in the box with a nice ball and the Belgium international nutmegged Alex Remiro.
Atleti doubled their lead on 28 minutes when Luis Suarez drove the ball forward and set Angel Correa up for a neat finish.
Sociedad got close to a goal of their own when Alexander Isak blasted a shot from the hosts’ box and rattled Jan Oblak’s right-hand post.
The visitors came in stronger in the second half but couldn’t score until the 83rd minute with Igor Zubeldia from close range.

Real Sociedad ace Portu insists his team never gave up throughout the encounter.
He said: “They had chances, especially in the first 25 minutes. In the end, especially the first goal that comes from a second play penalized us a lot.
“The second goal is a blow but the team has never left the game. Quite the opposite. We have had occasions to equalise. Atleti playing what is being played has to come out like this.
“We were also playing a lot and we have to learn to go out that way. You can not put buts to the team. We had worked a lot on getting the ball out.

Koke said: “Tired, the truth in the end we have done a spectacular job in the game. We were 2-0 and took a little step back at the end.
“We made a great effort to win beyond the very good and not so good moments we have done, but in the end it was about adding three at a time. Two games remain, one world remains.
