Floyd Mayweather return fight with Logan Paul at 44 to be held on June 5… with pair having TWO STONE weight difference

FLOYD MAYWEATHER’s latest comeback fight against Logan Paul is set to take place on June 5, according to reports.

The bout is set to be carried by Showtime PPV… and go directly up against unified lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez’s bout with George Kambosos on Triller.

Mayweather was originally set to fight YouTuber Paul on Fanmio back on February 20.

But the pair have been searching for a new date since, after their fight was postponed.

According to The Athletic, 50-0 Mayweather could go into the fight two stone lighter than his inexperienced opponent.

They claim that he will not be able to weigh more than 160lbs, while Paul’s limit will be 190lbs.

The exhibition bout will test Mayweather’s star appeal to hardcore boxing fans.

Lopez’s title fight with Kambosos is undoubtedly the more important fight.

But Mayweather’s big-name pull, coupled with Paul’s ability to draw in casual observers, may put the huge unified lightweight title fight up against it in terms of drawing buys.

Paul, 26, has 19million Instagram followers, and will be able to appeal to a very different audience to your average boxing match.

Jake Paul entered elite company

His brother Jake’s PPV success against Ben Askren, hardly a name of Mayweather’s allure, was a resounding triumph, drawing in 1.5million buys – putting it in all-time top ten.

And with the top four on that list all involving Mayweather, Showtime will be hoping for an even higher number this time around.

Mayweather, 44, last fought professionally in 2017 – when he defeated Conor McGregor in Las Vegas.

He then returned for an exhibition against Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in December 2018.

Paul, meanwhile, has fought professionally once – losing to British YouTuber KSI at Staples Center, Los Angeles, in November 2019.
