When is transfer deadline day, what time does the window close, and is it the same all over Europe?

CLUBS are working hard to get business done in the madness of the January transfer window.

Thirty-one days of wheeling and dealing could make or break a season – but plenty leave potential transfers right until the end of the month in search of the best price.

When is transfer deadline day?

AS ever, there’s sure to be plenty of final day drama as clubs across Europe open the chequebook.

January deadline day 2019 saw few big moves, with the highlights Youri Tielemans joining Leicester on loan, Michy Batshuayi heading across London to Crystal Palace and Peter Crouch returning to the Premier League.

This year the transfer window will close for Premier League and EFL clubs on Friday, January 31.

What time does the window close?

YOU will be able to follow all the transfer dealings as they happen here on SunSport.

We’ll have reporters on our LIVE BLOG throughout the day which will bring you new of each transfer as it happens.

The window opened on January 1 and will this year close at 11pm.

For transfers submitted between 9pm and 11pm, clubs will have to complete a deal sheet to comply with FA rules.

Whilst then there will be an extra hour allocated until midnight to ‘to complete the information needed by FIFA’s Transfer Matching System to apply for international clearance for new signings’.

Is it the same in Europe?

PREMIER LEAGUE clubs agreed to shut the summer window early from 2018.

As a result, clubs in Europe were still able to make deals whilst clubs in England’s top-flight were unable to bring players in throughout August – but could still send players out.

In January, clubs in France, Germany, Italy and Spain will also see the window shut on January 31.

The deadline for Germans clubs is slightly earlier at 5pm, while it’s 7pm in Italy.

While in Portugal it’s February 1, with Russian sides still able to sign players until February 22.
