Watch Sergio Aguero train alone as Man City star stays sharp during two-month injury layoff

SERGIO AGUERO has shared a video of himself training alone at Manchester City’s training ground as he stays sharp during his two-month injury layoff.

The Argentine star, 32, hasn’t played since June 22 when he injured his left knee in the 5-0 drubbing of Burnley.

But on Monday, Aguero took a huge step towards returned to first-team action.

The club legend was put through some dribbling and passing drills – looking very sharp.

However, boss Pep Guardiola insisted he was at least a month away from first-team action – because he’s normally very slow to recover.

Ahead of their season-opener against Wolves, Guardiola claimed: “We knew that the injury was difficult.

“He is doing the job, in maybe one month or two months he will be ready.

“He has to come back on the pitch and regain the physical condition.

“Sergio was out for a long time and Sergio is not a guy who regains the physical condition quickly.

“So I think in one month or two months he will be ready.”

Aguero sustained his latest injury following a challenge from Burnley defender Ben Mee in June.

Despite looking innocuous enough, the Argentine stayed down, with Guardiola’s worst fears confirmed, with Aguero missing the rest of the 2019-20 and beginning of the current campaign.

Aguero will not join his Man City team-mates for their season-opener against Wolves as they look to wrestle back the Premier League title from Liverpool.
