Tottenham in talks with Bournemouth over Josh King transfer to provide backup for Harry Kane

TOTTENHAM are in talks with Bournemouth striker Josh King, according to reports.

The North Londoners are in the market for a forward as backup for Harry Kane.

And despite having been linked with his Cherries strike partner Callum Wilson in the past, they have now turned their attention to the Norwegian.

King’s agent has gone as far as holding talks with Spurs, according to talkSPORT’s transfer guru Alex Crook.

The 28-year-old is currently on international duty with Norway and will have to quarantine on his return to the UK.

But that has not put Tottenham off as they look for someone to fill Kane’s boots if he is unavailable.

King was previously linked with Manchester United.

But the Red Devils had a £20million bid rejected.

And he was even linked with a shock move to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.

SunSport understands the Cherries, who were relegated to the Championship, do not want to sell the striker for less than £25m.

King would prefer to stay in the Premier League but then his next aim will be to play Champions League football for a club on the continent.

French champions Paris Saint-Germain are in next season’s competition and a move to Paris would be appealing for the Norway forward.

Newcastle, Everton and Brighton have also registered their interest in King, who has one year left on his Bournemouth contract.

Spurs also hit headlines earlier today when it emerged Tanguy Ndombele is on Inter Milan’s transfer shortlist.

Spurs’ record £65m signing has disappointed since his arrival in North London last summer but he is reportedly on Inter’s list of desired stars.

Inter are in the market for a midfielder and have recently been linked with Brescia star Sandro Tonali and Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal.

But they cooled their interest in Tonali as Vidal and Ndombele are ahead of him on their priority list, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Vidal is reportedly their No1 midfield target but they could turn to Tottenham’s 23-year-old if they fail to land the Chilean.
