Thierry Henry’s astonishing blast at players picked up as Montreal Impact boss left frustrated as he is mic’d-up

THIERRY HENRY’S touchline ranting has been picked up by mics during his Montreal Impact side’s 3-2 defeat to New England Revolution earlier this month.

The Frenchman pitched up at the MLS club late last year, having been sacked by AS Monaco.

Henry, 43, was believed to have lost the dressing room at the Ligue 1 side.

But if anyone thought that might make him take the ‘arm round the shoulder’ approach in future, this video would suggest otherwise.

The Arsenal legend, donning full club tracksuit, can be seen hollering instructions at his players during the loss.

Canadian international Shamit Shome was the subject of his ire on more than one occasion.

He screamed at the 23-year-old: “Shamit, can you pass it one touch? Then why don’t you do it!?!”

And later on he added towards the midfielder: “Shamit!

“Can you go behind him? Not in front of him, that’s not football. That’s not a football run, man! Behind him.”

Even former Tottenham star Victor Wanyama bore the brunt of his manager’s frustration.

Henry shouted: “Mason was there Victor.

“No don’t scream. Mason was there! Mason tell him you were there alone!”

Henry also took aim at Amar Sejdic: “Don’t blame anyone else, you turned the wrong way!

“If you turned you would have seen players here!”

Henry did, however, offer a few ‘well dones’ when he felt the players were implementing his instructions.

Ultimately though, goals from Kakuta Manneh, Teal Bunbury and Adam Buksa condemned him and his team to defeat.

Henry’s record as a manager so far leaves a lot to be desired, having won just seven of his 24 games in charge of the Impact.

And his time with Monaco was even worse, winning five, drawing four and losing 11 of his 20 matches at the helm.
