SPAIN secured top spot in their Nations League group and a place in the finals with a stunning 6-0 win over Germany – their worst-ever competitive defeat.
Manchester City duo Rodri and Ferran Torres were on fine form as they both scored in the Tuesday night hammering, with the latter bagging an incredible hat-trick in Seville – the first against Germany since Michael Owen for England in September 2001.

Chelsea flop Alvaro Morata, now on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid, and Real Sociedad’s Mikel Oyarzabal also netted to secure Spain’s position at the top of Group 4 – leapfrogging Germany in the process.
It means Spain will take part in next year’s Nations League, with the Germans left to rue their sloppy mistakes despite fielding a strong XI including Chelsea’s Timo Werner, Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos and Bayern Munich pair Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane.
Morata opened the scoring with just 17 minutes on the clock before Torres doubled Spain’s lead after half an hour.
Rodri soon joined in to put the hosts 3-0 up at half-time, leaving Germany in shock.
But Spain didn’t take their foot off the gas, with Torres scoring his second in the 55th minute.
The new Man City forward then made it a triple toast with another goal in the 71st minute before Oyazarbal’s 89th-minute effort wrapped up the win for Luis Enrique’s men.
Spain are now through to the Nations League semis, which kick off in October next year.
They join France, who finished top of Group 3 after a 3-2 win against Sweden.

The World Cup holders saw off a challenge from Portugal to make it through, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s side beating Croatia by the same scoreline.
There is still all to play for in the other groups though, with Italy, Holland and Poland all capable of making it through in Group A.
Meanwhile, Belgium and Denmark are battling for top in Group B – but England are out after losing to back-to-back games against the pair.
