Real Madrid ‘would not block Sergio Ramos leaving on free transfer’ if a big-money offer came in amid PSG interest

REAL MADRID will not stop Sergio Ramos from leaving the club if a big-money offer comes in, according to president Florentino Perez.

Paris Saint-Germain are set to offer the Spain legend, 34, an eye-watering contract worth £54million AFTER tax in a shock move.

Real Madrid have no plans to actively offload their captain – but are only willing to offer him a one-year deal so late in his career.

The offer on the table is believed to have the option for a second season, but will be heavily incentivised.

Ramos has repeatedly claimed he wants to stay at Real Madrid and ultimately retire at the club.

The defender has spent 15 years at the Bernabeu since joining from Sevilla in 2005, scoring 100 times in 660 games in all competitions.

However, Ramos is believed to be frustrated by the club’s unwillingness to offer him anything more than a one-year guaranteed contract.

And now Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has hinted he won’t stand in Ramos’ way should he want to quit, according to El Chiringuito.

The report claims Perez has told Ramos: “If you get a good offer, I understand that you will leave.”

With the legendary defender’s future uncertain, PSG were said to have offered a ‘blank cheque’ to Ramos to steal him away last week.

And the Ligue 1 champions are said to be willing to offer a THREE-YEAR deal worth £18m per season after tax, according to AS.

PSG sporting director Leonardo sees Ramos – the most-capped international in European history with 178 caps for Spain – as the missing link in his club’s hunt for a debut Champions League title.

And Perez’s most-recent comments are likely to frustrate Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane – who recently revealed he was desperate for Ramos to stay ‘forever’.

Zidane claimed: “As always, he is our captain, our leader.

“We want him here forever, it is what he is doing, showing that he always wants to.

“I have no doubt that he will stay and that it will continue to make history.”
