MANCHESTER UNITED have lost nearly £1BILLION through transfer dealings in the last decade – but they are still not as bad as rivals City.
The Red Devils have a net expenditure of £814.8million after signing some massive stars since the start of the 2011-12 season.

Paul Pogba, for example, cost a then-world-record £89m in the summer of 2016.
A further SEVEN players, including Angel Di Maria, Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire, have all cost over £50m, with the latter a whopping £85m.
Yet United have been unable to recoup much – or any – of those fees when selling.
It means the club’s net spend for the past ten years sits at an ugly £814.8million, according to a study by Paddy Power.
In the past ten years, United have won the title just ONCE, way back in 2012-13 – in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season.
Since then, they have been mired in mediocrity and never looked like serious challengers despite their monster transfer dealings.
However, there is one club in England who are even worse… rivals Manchester City.
The Etihad giants have spent and spent and spent since being taken over in 2008.

And since 2011-12 alone, their NET expenditure is a staggering £867.3m.
Man City have signed some superb players down the years, including Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling.
But there have also been some duds, with Pep Guardiola developing something of a reputation for spending big on defensive flops, such as John Stones and Danilo.
In return, City’s largest fee received in that span is just the £45m Bayern Munich paid to sign Leroy Sane.
Incredibly, the Manchester clubs have a net spend of around DOUBLE that of third-placed Chelsea.
In the past ten years, the Blues’ net spend sits at £410.3m, as they have balanced big-money arrivals with expensive sales, such as ones involving Eden Hazard to Real Madrid (£88m rising to £150m).
Arsenal come in fourth despite their lack of league success in recent seasons with a net spend of £380.3m.
Reigning champions Liverpool come in fifth on £335.6m after signing superstars such as Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino ALL for around £30m apiece – roughly the cost of one Pogba.
The Reds’ dealings have been so strong in fact, their £335.6m spent in the past ten years has helped build a squad now worth £987.6m – the most-valuable group of players in the world.
Everton’s recent big-spending puts them in sixth on £271.6m – just above Aston Villa (£263.4m) and West Ham (£256.8m).
Brighton (£187.4m) and Newcastle (£181.8m) are surprise entries in ninth and tenth respectively.
Tottenham are way down in 15th on just £135.8m, behind the likes of Fulham, Stoke and Wolves.
In fact, all current Premier League clubs have made a net loss.
You have to drop to the Championship to find a team who have made a net profit in the last ten years, with Brentford pocketing a staggering £81.2m.
