Keeper Ben Foster has also slammed Prem bigwigs, claiming they “don’t have a clue”.

And Hornets boss Pearson said: “We would like football to restart but it has got to be safe.

“We should be cautious. To ignore possibilities is foolhardy.

“God forbid we have a fatality. People are closing their eyes to the threat.

“And from a moral standpoint it is unreasonable to suggest that footballers are obligated to make the nation feel better.

“There is an element of that [being used as guinea pigs].”

Foster, 37, added: “I really haven’t a clue how they are going to work it.

“It is almost impossible to come up with solutions.

“You can’t go risking people’s health to be playing football.

“Health is the most important thing.

“Going back to playing has to be done when the time is right.”
