The on-field scrap was sparked by a stern challenge in the centre-circle and escalated as the opposing sides launched kicks and punches at each other.

PSG winger Neymar was shown red for punching Gonzalez in the back of the head.

The Brazilian later suggested Gonzalez called him a “monkey son of a b****”.

But French outlet RMC Sport also claimed Neymar instigated the row with a homophobic slur aimed at Gonzalez.

The ex-Barcelona star was claimed to have called Gonzalez a “p*** maricon” which translates to “f***ing q***r”.

Neymar was banned for two games for his red card, pending Ligue 1’s investigation into the racism claims.

However, it has now been officially announced that NEITHER player will face further punishment for their behaviour.

After Neymar claimed Gonzalez had racially abused him, the Marseille ace issued a strong anti-racism statement on Twitter.

Gonzalez captioned photo of himself with his black team-mates “there is no place for racism” in an apparent denial.

Neymar hit back in dramatic fashion on Twitter, telling Gonzalez he is “not a man”, and a a “racist”.

He lated added: “I don’t respect you.”

It is not yet know if Neymar’s alleged use of a racial slur against Hiroki Sakai was investigated, according to reports in France.
