Newcastle in double transfer swoop for Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson to reunite deadly Bournemouth duo

NEWCASTLE are reportedly closing in on deals for former Bournemouth duo Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson.

According to the Guardian, Newcastle have included Matt Ritchie in a player-plus-cash deal for Wilson.

The striker, 28, scored eight goals in 35 Premier League games this season as the Cherries were relegated.

Aston Villa are also interested in securing the England international’s signature.

But Newcastle will hope offering Ritchie to Bournemouth is enough to seal the deal.

And Bruce wants to snap up Wilson’s former team-mate Fraser, 26, for the upcoming campaign.

The Telegraph claim Newcastle believe they have agreed a deal for the Scotland international.

Bruce’s side are waiting for the player to confirm the move – but he is holding out to see if any other team can match their offer.

Arsenal and Tottenham have previously linked to him and Celtic are now interested.

Fraser is a free agent after he decided to leave Bournemouth when his contract expired in June.

When he played alongside Wilson, the pair made Premier League history.

The pair combined for 12 goals in the 2018/19 campaign – which put them above the record of 11 set by Alan Shearer and Mike Newell in 1995/96.
