Man Utd stars ‘being tested TWICE a day for coronavirus’ but no plans for club to shut Carrington training complex yet

MANCHESTER UNITED have no plans to shut down their Carrington training ground despite their players being tested “twice a day” for coronavirus.

With the spread of the disease continuing, the Premier League and EFL were left with no choice but to suspend matches until at least April 3.

According to the Mirror, United have been taking precautionary measures in order to keep their squad healthy.

It’s claimed the players are tested when they arrive at Carrington and also when they leave to ensure there is no cases confirmed at the club.

United even increased their safety measures during their 5-0 win over LASK on Thursday.

The match was played behind closed doors but manager Solskjaer said the players were even tested at half-time.

Speaking after the game, Solskjaer said: “Our medical staff are watching this minute to minute.

“Even at half time during the game in Austria the doctor was checking the players.

“Of course, we are part of the general public as well.

“We have a duty to obey what the authorities and experts decide on.”

The suspension of the league has come at a bad time for United, with Solskjaer’s squad currently on an 11 match unbeaten run in all competitions, which has helped them to just three points off the top four.

There is a positive for United, it gives Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba more time to recover from their injury problems.

The break gives Solskjaer more time to assess his United squad as he prepares for a busy summer transfer window.

Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Alexis Sanchez are all set to leave Old Trafford as the United boss aims to free up space in his squad.

United are one of Europe’s top clubs chasing Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.
