Man City trolled for ‘not having enough fans to fill the supporter cams’ vs Arsenal in Premier League return

MANCHESTER CITY have been trolled online for failing to even fill their FAN CAM inside the Etihad.

With games now being played behind closed doors as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, clubs are thinking up new ways to keep fans involved.

One scheme being rolled out across the Premier League is a live video montage of fans watching at home.

Manchester City – who have consistently been mocked by rival fans for struggling to fill seats at the ‘Emptyhad’ – set up a giant screen showing some of their supporters watching at home.

The only problem was that at one point during the first half they didn’t fill all the spaces.

This soon changed as more City fans logged in, but it didn’t stop other supporters poking fun at the defending champs.

As a photo did the rounds on social media, Harold Rivas wrote: “This picture says it all.”

Paul Bullock joked: “Ethiad busier than usual tonight. Louder too with that crowd noise.”

Others also quipped that it was “The best atmosphere at the Etihad for a while”.

Evan Tatley posted to Twitter: “Good to see @ManCity kept the same crowd numbers as they had pre Covid-19.”

But the lack of fans didn’t affect the City players as they face the ominous task of trying to catch Liverpool at the top.

Raheem Sterling put Pep Guardiola’s side into a 1-0 half-time capitalising on an error from Arsenal sub David Luiz.

Things got even worse for the Brazilian when he was sent off for tugging back Riyad Mahrez in the box.

Kevin De Bruyne stepped up to coolly slot home the resulting penalty.
