MANCHESTER CITY’S owners have added a TENTH club to their stable – by buying French club ESTAC Troyes.
The City Football Group (CFG) have taken over the second-tier team after ditching their interest in Nancy earlier this year.

Troyes – who won the Intertoto Cup in 2001 – finished fourth in their league last year, missing out on promotion when it was ended early due to Covid.
CFG will become the new majority shareholder in the club having acquired the shares owned by previous owner, Daniel Masoni.
French businessman Maxime Ray has also acquired a minority stake and he will take a seat on the Club’s board.
Troyes now join a host of clubs from around the world as part of the CFG, which has City as its mothership and headquarters in Manchester.
But in addition they currently have teams in New York, Melbourne, Japan, China, Spain, Uruguay, India and Belgium.
The group’s chief exec Ferran Soriano said: “We have had an interest in French football for some time and have long admired Troyes.
“We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of our tenth club and have a permanent presence in France.
“This is a milestone for City Football Group and demonstrates how our model continues to adapt and grow in a relatively short space of time.
“There is no doubt that France is one of the top football countries in the world and we are proud to be part of that community.”
Reports in France suggest the cost of the deal is “single figure millions” in euros – meaning it is less than £9million.
In November last year, the CFG was boosted by a £389m cash injection from US investment firm Silver Lake.
