How Leeds and Liverpool could line-up this weekend with Bielsa set to give Rodrigo and Robin Koch debuts

NEWLY promoted Leeds United face defending champions Liverpool on the first day of the season.

But luckily for them, Marcelo Bielsa’s summer signings are ready and raring to go.

Leeds will face Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday

Bielsa – who has penned a new one-year deal – has confirmed Rodrigo and Robin Koch are both fit.

In his pre-match press conference, he said: “They are in very good physical condition ahead of the game [against Liverpool].”

Illan Meslier is expected to start between the sticks with Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas as full-backs.

Liam Cooper and new signing Koch are expected to pair up in the heart of defence.

Koch made the move to Leeds from Freiburg in a deal worth around £13million.

Kalvin Phillips is set to start ahead of the defence in his preferred central defensive midfield role.

Manchester City loanee Jack Harrison, Mateusz Klich, Adam Forshaw and Pablo Hernandez will dominate the middle.

And new boy Rodrigo is expected to lead the line against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Liverpool will be hoping to get off to a winning start in the league

For Liverpool, they will be hoping to pick up where they left off after winning their first title for 30 years.

Alisson is likely to start in goal behind Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Fabinho will line-up behind Naby Keita and veteran James Milner.

But the biggest test will come for Leeds when Liverpool’s front three get fired up.

Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah are set to give them a harsh introduction to the top-flight.
