Gary Neville in Twitter row with Arsenal fan after calling David Luiz and Mustafi ‘uncoachable’ before Arteta resurgence

GARY NEVILLE was caught up in a fierce Twitter row with an Arsenal fan – after calling the Gunners defence “uncoachable”… in November.

Immediately after Unai Emery was sacked, the Sky Sports pundit pointed the finger at the Arsenal back-line.

Neville specifically took aim at David Luiz, Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

He claimed: “These defenders are uncoachable, some of them.”

Still bearing a grudge now in July, one fan took to Twitter to share the current Premier League clean sheet stats – with Mikel Arteta leading a superb charge up the table in 2020.

Arsenal rank third, behind only Liverpool and Manchester United, with ten shut-outs this term.

However, seven of those clean sheets have come in 15 games under current boss Mikel Arteta.

Emery managed just ten in 51 matches.

Looking at the whole season, the Arsenal fan sarcastically captioned the clean sheet stats: “Uncoachable.”

But Neville was quick to react, saying: “Are you bragging?

“You’ve conceded 8 more goals than Sheffield United, 5 more than Wolves and 10 more than Leicester who you play tonight.

“City, Liverpool, United and Crystal Palace also have better defensive records.

“Tony Adams will be proud of you!”

But Neville quickly became a target for Arsenal fans following his typically strong comments.

One replied to his tweet, saying: “Go on Gary tell us a thing or two about coaching because you’re so good at it.”

Another wrote: “Just admit you got it wrong no need to be arrogant.”

A third joked: “Move on with the L Gary, you got this wrong.”
