GARY LINEKER has joked he cannot remember “what either feels like” after remarking that scoring a goal is better than sex.
A teasing conversation between the former England star and his Match of the Day podcast companions Ian Wright and Alan Shearer made headlines about which event produces the better feeling.

With the discussion featuring on the front page of Lineker’s interview with Event magazine on Sunday, he remarked on Instagram: “Oh blimey. It’s happened again.
“Truth is, I can’t remember what either feels like.”
On the MOTD podcast, currently replacing the popular Saturday night Premier League highlights show, the ex-strikers opened up on how their outlook has changed as they grow older.
Lineker said: “It’s just that cliched old question: is scoring a goal a better feeling than having sex?
“I think we’re all totally in agreement that scoring a goal is much better.
“Basically, because everyone can have sex, but not everyone can score an important goal in a big game.”
Arsenal legend Wright, 56, admitted he had alway gone against picking scoring a goal when asked as a youngster, but now views it from a different perspective.

He told the show: “What they should have said is you can never score a goal again or you can never have sex again. I’d never have sex again.”
To which Lineker, 59, replied: “You know what the truth is now though. None of us will ever score again… and we’ll probably never have sex again!”
Twice divorced and with four sons quarantining with their mother having suffered coronavirus symptoms, Lineker told Event of how he is coping alone during the pandemic.
And the virus, combined with an acknowledgement of media speculation, is putting the Tottenham and Leicester hero of finding love again.
He stated: “I am fine on my own. I am single anyway.
“I have the odd date here and there, go out for dinner, have a drink, meet for coffee.
“But I haven’t dated very much. If I do have a date I have to be careful about where to go.

“You don’t want to be pictured coming out of a restaurant with someone you’ve perhaps only seen once or twice in your life.
“You wouldn’t wish that on anyone, because obviously there would be a massive investigation by the media: ‘Who is this person?’.
“So I am a bit cautious. I can’t really be bothered with it most of the time.”
