Werner told Bild that: “There is a certain flair to watching the English league and playing there.”

The RB Leipzig star is one of the hottest properties in the Bundesliga, with a host of clubs across Europe looking to snap him up.

Werner’s latest comments on the Premier League see Chelsea overtaking the likes of Real Madrid in the transfer race to signing the striker.

Sending scouts to numerous games, Chelsea have been keep tabs on the youngster with the hope of signing him in the summer.

The striker has scored 23 goals in 25 games across all competitions and played a monumental role in getting Leipzig to the top of the Bundesliga table and through to the last-16 of the Champions League.

Speaking of his own performance this season, the youngster told Bild: “I am 23 years old and have already developed this season. But there is still room for improvement where I can and want to improve. “

Lampard is hoping the addition of Werner to his side will strengthen his teams threat in front of goal.

Referring to future plans, Werner went on to explain his position on an international move saying: “At some point abroad would certainly be attractive” and that “England would not be bad in general”.

But says he will remain at RB Leipzig until the end of the season as he believes he has the potential to develop under his current manager.

“As of now I have no desire to look for a move elsewhere,” he said.

“I feel very comfortable here and because I have a coach with Julian who can take me further.”
