Arsenal starlet Nketiah to ‘decide future in next 48 hours’ with Aston Villa one of four clubs who want striker on loan

ARSENAL starlet Eddie Nketiah is in hot demand and will make a decision on where to head on loan for the remainder of the season in the next 48 hours.

Aston Villa, Bristol City, Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest all have their eye on the 20-year-old.

Premier League strugglers Villa and the three Championship clubs have all made the young striker offers to take him on board for the rest of the season.

Nketiah’s top priority in making his decision is how much game time he will be given.

The striker recently returned to the Emirates having spent the first part of the season at Leeds where he managed five goals in 19 games for the Yorkshire club.

However, the Championship leaders cut their loan agreement with Nketiah short.

Boss Marcelo Bielsa was keen for his season-long stay to continue but the lack of starts being given to Nketiah was causing problems.

He made just two league starts in 17 Championship appearances for the club.

He also made two starts in the Carabao Cup – scoring in both games.

ARSENAL CRISIS

Arsenal suffered a setback on Saturday with their lead goal-scorer ruled out of the next three games.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was handed a red card and sent off during the Gunners’ 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

A shocking foul on Palace’s Max Meyer earned him the ban.

It immediately led to suggestions that Nketiah could remain with the Gunners to act as cover.

However, boss Mikel Arteta was quick to play down such suggestions, saying: “It didn’t before and at the moment we have to think medium to long term with Eddie, we have to respect his evolution, his development, and we don’t have to make decisions just based on two or three games I think”.

Top Gunners’ scorer Aubameyang has found the net 14 times in the Premier League this season and has played a vital role in the team’s build-up play on the left wing.
