Where is F1 Styrian Grand Prix being held, what country and which track is hosting it?

F1 returned last weekend with a pulsating Austrian Grand Prix commencing a truncated season following the coronavirus pandemic.

And now the Styrian Grand Prix is being held this weekend and viewers will be hoping it’s as exciting as the opening race at the Red Bull Ring.

Valtteri Bottas took the chequered flag while a five-second penalty saw Lewis Hamilton drop to fourth, allowing fellow Brit Lando Norris to pick up a podium place.

But just how will F1’s first ever Styrian Grand Prix work and where will is it being held?

What is the F1 Styrian Grand Prix?

The F1 Styrian Grand Prix has been added to the calendar for the first time as Formula One looks to hold as many races as possible while complying with coronavirus travel restrictions.

Also known as the Steiermark Grand Prix, it is named after the region in Austria around the city of Graz, where it will take place.

All drivers, crew and reporters will remain in a bubble and be unable to fly in and out for the duration of the Austrian, Styrian and Hungarian Grand Prix, which are being held across three straight weeks.

Which track is holding the F1 Styrian Grand Prix?

The Styrian Grand Prix is taking place at… the Red Bull Ring.

Drivers have reconvened at the same venue that is holding the Austrian Grand Prix and are doing it all again this weekend.

As F1 rules state that two races cannot have the same name, this Grand Prix has been named after the local region, rather than Austria.

The Red Bull Ring is not the only track which will host two Grand Prix races this season.

A week after August’s British Grand Prix, drivers will be back at Silverstone for the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix, celebrating F1’s creation in 1950.
