Pacquiao would obliterate ‘bum’ Conor McGregor quicker than Mayweather but fight vs UFC legend not worth it, says coach

CONOR MCGREGOR would be knocked out in just three rounds by Manny Pacquiao, says the boxing legend’s coach.

The UFC superstar and the Filipino legend have regularly been linked with a fight ever since Notorious climbed into the ring with Floyd Mayweather three years ago.

McGregor was stopped in the tenth by the undefeated American – but  Pacquiao‘s strength and conditioning coach Justin Fortune believes his man would need less than nine minutes to beat the “bum” Irishman.

Speaking to the Manila Times, he said: “Why even make that guy rich?

“And it won’t do absolutely anything for Pacquiao as far as his legacy [is concerned].

“Remember, this is just my opinion. Manny goes down as the greatest fighter in history when he finishes because no one has done what he accomplished in boxing.

“Why destroy your legacy for a bum like McGregor?”

Fortune continued: “Manny will destroy Conor McGregor inside the three rounds.

“He will obliterate him too fast and too strong as an amazing fighter. McGregor is nothing.”

McGregor returned to the octagon after his loss to Mayweather but was forced to submit against bitter rival and current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018.

He did climb back into the cage and destroyed Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds in January before retiring for a third time.

The 32-year-old declared he had grown frustrated over his lack of fight opportunities in UFC and opted to quit.

Meanwhile Pacquiao has not fought since he beat Keith Thurman in July 2019 via split decision.

The veteran, 41, was due to battle Mikey Garcia in Saudi Arabia this summer.

However, that showdown was axed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
