Evander Holyfield, 57, names three boxers he would make comeback fight against including Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis

BOXING legend Evander Holyfield is open to fighting Mike Tyson, Riddick Bowe or Lennox Lewis in a charity scrap.

The American former world champion is eager to dust off his gloves at the age of 57 and step back inside the ring nine years after his last bout.

Much of the talk has been a highly-anticipated trilogy fight with Tyson following ongoing talks between the pair.

Iron Mike has fought his way back into incredible shape and history could repeat itself if the pair collide for a third time 13 years after their last controversial bout.

Holyfield won the initial scrap before Tyson was sensationally disqualified for biting off a chunk of his ear in the second.

A third would certainly create history but Holyfield says he’ll take on any of the three heavyweight legends.

He told The Times: “It’s better you do it with people who have been around like you.

“I don’t want to go and fight someone trying to make a name for themselves.

“People want to see me and [Riddick] Bowe, of course, Mike Tyson and maybe Lennox [Lewis], that would be good. I’ll spar with anyone.”

Holyfield fought Bowe on three occasions, losing twice, while also failed to beat Lewis on two occasions.

The likes of Tyson Fury have backed the veterans to step back into the ring but insisted their age must mean they pass all the medicals.

And Holyfield has no concerns that a three-round fight could damage his health and is open to wearing headwear.

He added: “Look, we are going three rounds. It’s not ten or 15. Maybe there’ll be headgear.

“My intention is not to knock someone out, but you’ve got 16oz gloves and you get good shots in sparring too.

“I look after myself. I’m OK with head shots. You better believe that if he goes at my head I’m going at his.

“I’m going to be shooting at his head anyway with jabs.

“The difference is if I hurt him I’m not going to rush in and try and get him out of there. I’ll pull back. This is a way for me to talk to young people.”
