Eddie Hearn says Deontay Wilder’s team ‘don’t know a*** from their elbow’ after failing to secure fight with AJ

EDDIE HEARN blasted Deontay Wilder’s team for their failure to secure a fight with Anthony Joshua, claiming they ‘don’t know their a*** from their elbow’.

Hearn laid into those in The Bronze Bomber’s corner after appearing to let a contracted trilogy fight with Tyson Fury slip through their fingers.

The Gypsy King confirmed a rematch was OFF and after saying he had ‘moved on’ and was looking forward to facing AJ in 2021.

Joshua announced his fight with Bulgarian heavyweight Kubrat Pulev on December 12 at the O2 with Fury looking for an opponent to fight in the UK in December.

And if both Brits get through their respective fights then boxing fans could be in for a couple of colossal all-British unification bouts next year.

And matchroom king Hearn thinks the latest blow for Wilder – who refutes claims the third Fury fight is off – is typical of his team who also butchered the chance to fight Joshua.

Speaking to Boxing Social, Hearn said: “That was dealing with people, as you have seen over the last couple of weeks that, quite frankly, don’t know their a*** from their elbow.

“Now we’re dealing with different people around Fury, you know?

“Whether that’s [Bob Arum], whether that’s [MTK], I haven’t spoke to Frank Warren but I’m sure we will as well, and I trust they wanna do it.

“And I trust that Fury wants to do it. And I never trusted that Wilder or Shelly Finkel — all those guys wanted to do the AJ fight — I did not believe them.

“So, I believe that we have a team there who wants to fight Anthony Joshua.

“They believe they will beat Anthony Joshua, and we feel exactly the same on our side, that we beat Tyson Fury.

“And we want that more than anything.”
