Pubs and bars are only allowed to stay open until 11pm in Tier One and Tier Two areas.

With ring walks set for around 10.30pm, they may not be able to show the entire fight.

Sky Sports, who upped the pay-per-view price to £24.95, have made this clear to their customers.

A statement from Sky Sports read: “Due to the timings of the main event between Joshua and Pulev, we are advising those Sky Business customers (pubs/bars etc) who wish to purchase the Pay-Per-View event that they may not be able to show the full fight due to the 11pm curfew in line with the Government restrictions.

“Ultimately the decision is with the venue if they wish to screen the fight but we are making them aware of government legislation and the risks posed if the fight continues beyond 11pm.”

As a result, some pubs have already made the decision not to show the main event on Saturday.

The Cornershop bar in Shoreditch apologised to their customers as they announced the news.

Speaking on Instagram, they said: “SORRY. Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev heavyweight viewing match has now been cancelled.

“We have recently spoken to Sky box office and they told us the fight is due to finish after the 11pm closing time.

“We do apologise but we are heavily restricted and we hope to see you soon. Stay safe.

“We are still showing all of the football matches this weekend.”

Boxing fans will not want to miss the end of the fight following Friday’s fiery weigh-in.

AJ, who weighed in at 17st 2lbs, had to be pulled away from Pulev as a war of words broke out between the pair.

The furious WBA, WBO and IBF champion called the Bulgarian a ‘pussy’ after being repeatedly taunted.

Promoter Eddie Hearn confessed the brawl was not staged – and claimed he ‘has the skid marks’ to prove it.

Pulev, with a record of 28-1, has claimed AJ’s end will ‘come like lightning’ when the pair lock horns at Wembley Arena.
