Sir Alex Ferguson not impressed with Solskjaer’s subs – as Man Utd legend is left speechless at Shaw replacing Martial

SIR ALEX FERGUSON was left hilariously baffled at what he was watching at Turf Moor.

The Manchester United legend, in the stands to see a 2-0 win for the Red Devils over Burnley, couldn’t believe what he was seeing in the dying minutes.

With United leading 1-0, current boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided to take off impressive forward Anthony Martial for left-back Luke Shaw.

Martial had, at that point, scored what looked like the winning goal.

And in a brilliant clip that has since gone viral on social media, Fergie was caught absolutely speechless as the change was made.

The Scot, who won 13 Premier League titles, five FA Cups, four League Cups and the Champions League twice at Old Trafford, looked incredulous at the change.

Sitting with former chief executive David Gill, Fergie struggled to get his words out when he spotted what was going on.

But he need not worry, as Manchester United went on to win 2-0 over Burnley.

It was a result that sees them move to just a point off the Champions League places – although Chelsea have a game in hand.

After the win, Solskjaer said: “In the first half I thought we were very good. We controlled it and dominated it.

“Second half of course there will be a couple more incidents in your box because they are throwing the ball into it but great defending.

“It is a big difference to get a clean sheet. It is important for us to know we can grind out results as well, even though if you score one you don’t always win but if we get the clean sheets we have a better chance to move up the table.

“There were so many great counter attacking opportunities. Excellent performance.

“We want to keep the momentum going. Two wins now and good response after the disappointing game against Watford.

“We have not lost a game straight after we have lost another one so happy with that. Good response from the players, they are learning.”
