Lampard tells scouts to find replacement for Kepa as under-fire Chelsea boss prepares for January transfer spree

FRANK LAMPARD is reportedly telling his scouts to line up a replacement for Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The 25-year-old Spaniard cost the Blues a record £71.6million last summer after Thibaut Courtois stormed out to join Real Madrid.

But under new boss Lampard, Kepa has already conceded 37 goals with a damning save percentage of 56 per cent.

According to Bleacher Report, the Chelsea manager is looking to replace the ex-Athletic Bilbao stopper.

The Spanish keeper has the second lowest save percentage this term, with only Southampton’s Angus Gunn managing worse with 55 per cent.

Liverpool No1 Alisson – who was Chelsea’s initial choice over Kepa last season – has the highest stats with a 78 per cent save ratio.

It is claimed Lampard was unhappy with the way Kepa rushed off his line in Saturday’s defeat against Bournemouth as Dan Gosling lobbed the ball of his head.

Blues legend Petr Cech is the current technical and performance advisor at Stamford Bridge, and will work to help the club improve their squad in January.

Chelsea remarkably saw their transfer ban lifted after Swiss-based Court of Arbitration for Sport accepted an appeal from the West Londoners.

Owner Roman Abramovich is set to hand Lampard a mega transfer budget this winter after a spend-free summer.

Left-back Ben Chilwell is understood to be top of the manager’s list.

But forwards Wilfried Zaha, Jadon Sancho and Timo Werner have also been linked with the Blues.
