Chelsea fans desperate for Chilwell after Leicester defender gets THREE England assists

CHELSEA fans are already making a shopping list for when their transfer ban ends – and Ben Chilwell has shot to the top.

The Leicester defender, 22, set up three goals in the first 25 minutes of England’s crushing win over Montenegro to continue his good form.

And while the left-back would cost a fortune, he would fit the mould of hungry, home-grown talent that Frank Lampard is trying to work with.

Chilwell produced a lovely dinked ball to unlock the Montenegrin defence and allow Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to open the scoring last night.

And he followed that up by teeing-up Harry Kane twice from set-pieces to complete a hat-trick of assists.

Now, Blues supporters are hoping that Stamford Bridge scouts were paying attention to the impressive display.

One tweeted: “After 5-6 years, Chelsea may finally be able to replace Ashley Cole. Ben Chilwell. Please sign him up.”

Another optimistically added: “Chelsea only need Sancho and Chilwell once the transfer ban will be lifted”.

Not everybody was on board, with Emerson and youth star Ian Maatsen being mentioned as options currently at the club.

Lampard has defied expectations to lead Chelsea to third in the table despite being unable to replace Eden Hazard.

Senior stars N’Golo Kante and Jorginho have stepped up to help a young squad, with the whizkids putting in some outstanding displays.

English aces Tammy Abraham, Reece James, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori have been among the stand-out performers, while Christian Pulisic has started to show what he is capable of.

Harry Kane now England’s sixth top scorer, eclipsing Shearer, Lofthouse and Finney with quickfire hat-trick in 1,000th game
