BOXING fans were left stunned at how big Andy Ruiz Jr looked in the ring, comparing him to the legendary Butterbean.

The Mexican tipped the scales at more than 20st for the rematch against Anthony Joshua – which he lost comprehensively on points.

And fans on social media were quick to comment on his appearance.

Many were left wondering if Butterbean, real name Eric Esch, had been drafted in.

He incredibly came in for many of his boxing fights at more than 30st.

Callum Poultney wrote: “Didn’t know they’d drafted in Butterbean as a late replacement.”

Butterbean fought in MMA and then boxing, and was feared as a one-punch KO king.

Fifty-eight of his 77 wins in boxing came by way of knockout.

Ruiz admitted the extra weight played against him after he was easily outpointed by Joshua to lose his heavyweight titles in the rematch.
