Ruiz, 30, stunned the world of boxing when he dethroned the Watford-born bruiser, 30, in New York on June 1.

In a desperate attempt to avoid humiliation for the second time, Joshua bravely asked his opponent for tips on how to beat him.

When quizzed about his tactics for the fight, he told reporters: “For me, take centre.

“If I’m six inches in front of Ruiz, all it takes for a man to miss a punch is six inches.

“So sometimes you haven’t even got to be running around the ring.

“I asked him upstairs, I said: ‘How do I beat you, then?’, he says: ‘Mate, you should move around a little.’

“Boxing is a sweet science of sport. I’m 6ft 6in, so it would be wrong of me in front of Ruiz and go toe-to-toe hooking.

“I’ve got to box to my attributes which is range and movement.

“My style is not what a scared boxer would do, I think it’s what a smart fighter would do.”

After a clip of their face-off went viral on Twitter, one said: “Andy’s the nicest boxer… he actually started to answer the question.”

Another added: “That was a serious question. He really wanted to know.”

One Twitter user claimed: “Love this from AJ, but he’s still going to get bulldozed.”

In the video, Ruiz is wearing the same New York Knicks jersey that he received before his first win over AJ.

Joshua has slimmed down for the “Clash Of The Dunes” after he was decked four times by Ruiz in New York.

The British powerhouse has claimed he would weigh less than 17 stone when he fights – for the first time since 2014.
