But John Fury suggested his son was well behind on his fitness in the run up to fight night.
The family endured the emotional turmoil of Tyson’s sixth child, Athena, going into intensive care when she was born in August, kept in at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool.
His father told Sky Sports: “I went to Alder Hey Hospital, I accompanied him just to keep him right.
“I said, ‘Look, you’ve got to do some form of exercise, just don’t sit in here. Let’s go for a bit of a run, you’ll feel better after it.’
“I’m 56 years old, 20 stone, I outran him. We went for a run around Liverpool and his lungs were on fire.
“I thought, ‘Look at this.’ My lungs? You couldn’t hear them. He struggled with a three-mile run.

“He said afterwards, ‘That nearly killed me’, so that’s where he was at four weeks prior to that big night.”
Fury, 33, clearly worked hard over the month leading up to the Las Vegas showdown, heading out to America to finish his training camp.
And by Saturday night, he was ready to take on his rival for a third time.
Fury dropped Wilder in the third but hit the canvas himself twice in the next round – but eventually stopped the fight in the 11th to maintain his unbeaten record and keep the WBC heavyweight world title.
Fury Sr revealed how he kept his son motivated in the final stages of preparation – including using Anthony Joshua’s defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Oleksandr Usyk to fire Tyson up.
He added: “He was going to do it anyway, so what I said was, ‘OK then, I’ll try to make the best of a bad job. I’ll fill him full of confidence.’
“But deep down inside I was worried because I thought ‘You know what, he shouldn’t be doing this.’
“There’s a power to be in boxing, Tyson wanting to stand up for his country knowing Anthony Joshua just lost his belts at home, two miles from where he lives.
“He thought, ‘You know what, I can’t be like this man, I’ve got to do my own thing, stand for my country. Win, lose or draw it’s on!”

Afterwards, Fury spent the night and following day partying non-stop with his family and friends to celebrate the heavyweight thriller.
He’s now back home with his entourage, landing at Heathrow T3 from a flight believed to have been from Atlanta.
Fury touched down around 11am, and was pictured by SunSport queuing up at passport control while yawning with the affects of the gruelling 11 rounds – plus the partying – there to see.
Ever the people’s champ, the father-of-six lined up like everyone else, proving he needs no special treatment.
Fury three times floored Wilder, twice picking himself up from the canvas too, before scoring a stunning knockout with just a round to go.
He enjoyed the win in style, partying with brother Tommy and wife Paris, while dancing on stage with DJ Steve Aoki.

But after the dust settled, it was time to come home for Fury, who enjoys the local life in Lancashire.
Paris posted a picture with the heavyweight icon on what appeared to be a lunch date, as they prepared to return home to their adoring children.
She wrote on Instagram: “What a night . . . what a fight! The last 48 hours have been epic and I’m still on cloud nine.
“It meant everything to be there with Tyson, he’s worked so hard for this and he brought it home like the great champion he is!
“It won’t be long till We’re back to reality and the school run but for now this is definitely one of the highs of being a boxer’s wife.
“And not long till Love and Fury (Paris’s book on life with Tyson) is out too.”

Wilder, 35, went quiet after losing through an 11th-round knockout as he began his recovery from a broken hand with question marks over where his boxing career goes next.
But the Bronze Bomber finally broke his silence with a classy message on Instagram on Thursday thanking God, his team, fans and Fury for ‘memories that will last forever’.
The Gypsy King shared the post with a handshake emoji and said: “The greatest trilogy of all time.”
Wilder uploaded a picture in his red gown ahead of the showdown and wrote: “Wow, what a hell of a night!
“I would like to first and foremost thank God for allowing me to give the world another part of me that’s driven with passion and determination.
“I would like to thank my team and my fans for sticking by my side through this long process.
“I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t disappointed in the outcome but after reflecting on my journey, I now see that what God wanted me to experience is far greater than what I expected to happen.

“We didn’t get the win but a wise man once said the victories are within the lessons. I’ve learned that sometimes you have to lose to win.
“Although, I wanted the win I enjoyed seeing the fans win even more.
“Hopefully, I proved that I am a true Warrior and a true King in this sport.
“Hopefully, WE proved that no matter how hard you get hit with trials and tribulations you can always pick yourself up to live and fight again for what you believe in.
“Last but not least I would like to congratulate @gypsyking101 for his victory and thank you for the great historical memories that will last forever.”
Wilder had restored so much of his reputation as he floored Fury twice before succumbing late on in Saturday’s instant classic, after accusing his rival of cheating his way to the February 2020 win.
But the battered and bruised American appeared to blow his chance to turn the iconic rivalry into a fantastic fighting friendship with his conduct in the ring afterwards as Fury hit out at him for not congratulating his conqueror.
    WILDER NOT SOUR
But Wilder’s co-manager Shelly Finkel insisted the ex-champion in fact DOES respect Fury, and would be open to accepting the peace offering now.
Finkel told SunSport: “Him and I have spoke about that and he does (respect Fury).
“I think his mind wasn’t really there, I think if Deontay saw Fury now he would give him a big embrace.”
There were fears Wilder would retire from boxing after the savage battle, where he suffered numerous injuries, including the fractured hand, knuckle and finger which will be operated on next week.
But Finkel has confirmed the 42-2-1 brawler will be back next in late April or May – and is eyeing Anthony Joshua next.
Wilder has been denied a quick ring return after receiving a six-month ban by medics.

Deontay Wilder’s sparring partner wants him to fight Anthony Joshua but warns NO ONE can take the power bar Tyson Fury

DEONTAY WILDER has been urged by his sparring partner to fight Anthony Joshua next year. But Joshua is warned no other heavyweight on the planet bar Tyson Fury has proven capable of taking Wilder’s shots.

American Jim Torney, 34, helped the former champion with two week’s worth of sparring before the epic trilogy bout with Fury.
Wilder, who scored two knockdowns in round four, was floored three times in total but fought until the bitter end, when he was finished in the 11th.
He is set to undergo surgery next week for a broken hand, but is in line to return by May 2022.
And training partner Torney picked long-time rival AJ as the perfect opponent upon Wilder’s return.
He told SunSport: “I would love to see the Anthony Joshua fight.
“His team and D know what’s best for him, but I think probably they will try to make that fight happen eventually.

“Whether he does a comeback fight first and then goes for AJ, he’ll be ready.
“His team will decide what’s best to do, but that would be an awesome fight for the fans.”
Torney, who perfectly matches up with Fury’s 6ft 9in and 19 stone frame, felt first hand the force of Wilder’s right hand.
The Gypsy King twice got off the canvas in their 2018 original, and won the rematch with a one-sided seven beatdown last year.
But the heavyweight stars saved the best till last with their trilogy decider going down as an instant classic.
It saw Fury again rise from the floor two times, this time to win, and Torney admits Britain’s unbeaten WBC champion could be the only man capable of doing so.
But I don’t see anyone right now that’s proven themselves to get up off the canvas from a guy like Wilder, other than Fury.”Deontay Wilder’s sparring partner Jim Torney
He said: “I don’t think anyone takes those other than Fury.
“And that’s only because you have to go off people’s past experiences, and Fury has got up in the past. AJ is a tough, tough dude.
“He got up against Andy Ruiz, so I think if he could get up he would but I just don’t know whether he could weather the storm for another seven, eight rounds.
“He didn’t prove he could against Ruiz, but he’s a tough dude and you have to give him credit.
“But I don’t see anyone right now that’s proven themselves to get up off the canvas from a guy like Wilder, other than Fury.”
Joshua, 31, was beaten by Oleksandr Usyk, 34, in September and is now set for a rematch with the Ukrainian.
Meanwhile Fury, 33, will be ordered to face the winner between Dillian Whyte, 33, and Otto Wallin, 30, who fight at the end of the month.

Wilder, 35, again faces a rebuilding job, but his reputation was restored after a brave and gutsy performance against Fury.
He did so under the guidance of new coach Malik Scott, the man he actually knocked out in 2014, before building a friendship.
Torney, 4-0 in his career, backed the Bronze Bomber – who has 41 KOs in 42 wins – to come back better than ever, quashing any threat of retirement.
He said: “I know a lot of guys say this when they’re leading up to big fights, that this is ‘best camp’ they’ve ever had.
“But watching D, he was all of 230-pounds in camp and athletically he doesn’t look like he’s ageing.
“So yeah, I think the best is yet to come from Wilder.”

Tyson Fury could retire TOMORROW after ‘having enough’ following brutal Deontay Wilder win, hints promoter Frank Warren

FRANK WARREN admitted he would not be surprised if Tyson Fury retired ‘tomorrow’ after cementing himself as the No1 heavyweight. Fury settled his trilogy series in style against Deontay Wilder with a brutal knockout in round 11.

Beforehand, he mapped out a five-fight plan which included Wilder, Dillian Whyte, Derek Chisora and a double header with Anthony Joshua.
But even his promoter conceded if the motivation is no longer there, the unbeaten Gypsy King could call it a day, leaving on top.
Warren told talkSPORT: “Before the fight, he did an interview and he mapped out five fights.
“I’m just saying, if he chooses to do it, he will do it. He will do what he wants to do and no-one is going to tell him who he is going to fight.
“I tell you that now; he is the man and he will do what is necessary.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if Tyson said tomorrow, ‘I’ve had enough, I don’t fancy it.’
“If he does, he is wealthy, he has made a lot of money and he has got to do what is right for him.”

Fury, 33, was set to fight Joshua, 31, in Saudi Arabia in August after trying to walk away from his contracted trilogy with Wilder, 35.
But the defiant American took the dispute to arbitration and was awarded the verdict.
It saw Joshua instead fight and lose to Oleksandr Usyk, 34, surrendering the unified titles.
Now after Fury’s win, Dillian Whyte, 33, will be next for the WBC title – if he beats Otto Wallin 30, at the end of the month.
Fury is sitting pretty with the possibility of a mega-fight in the UK with Whyte, or undisputed decider between the winner of AJ and Usyk’s rematch.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if Tyson said tomorrow, ‘I’ve had enough, I don’t fancy it.’Promoter Frank Warren
His dad John urged him to face only Usyk for all the titles next, or else retire, to make sure he returns with 100 per cent focus.
But even the Gypsy King himself dropped a recent retirement hint after his gruelling Las Vegas thriller against Wider.
He told the Telegraph: “I don’t know what’s going to happen.
“I’ve got one fight left on my contract with Top Rank and ESPN and we’ll see what that is.
“But I’m not thinking about boxing right now. I don’t know how many fights I’ve got left.
“I don’t know if I need to fight any more. I don’t know what the future holds.”

Fury told The Telegraph: “I don’t know what’s going to happen.
“I’ve got one fight left on my contract with Top Rank and ESPN and we’ll see what that is.
“But I’m not thinking about boxing right now. I don’t know how many fights I’ve got left, I don’t know if I need to fight anymore. I don’t know what the future holds.
“I am motivated to get up in the morning, do a little bit of training and enjoy my day. I don’t have any goals in boxing; I have done everything and won everything, the only one to do it in my era.
“I will always have been the WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF, Ring magazine champion, that will not evaporate in history, but once it is done, it is done – and you cannot get it back.
“Once you are done, it doesn’t matter how many belts you have, who you beat, what your record is. You are just another bare bum in the shower and I have always had that opinion.”
    ‘ONE OF THE GREATEST’
The fight raked in rave reviews from a host of heavyweight greats.
Mike Tyson believes both Fury and Wilder have reached ‘all time great status’.
Tyson tweeted: “Fury vs Wilder fight will go down as one of greatest.
“Not for skill, but for action and excitement.
“That fight was all guts, heart & determination.
    “Everybody won Saturday night.
“The fight was bigger than the hype. Both of them reached all time great status…”
Wilder came out of the fight needing surgery on his right hand.
And he is due to have an emergency operation next week as he targets a May 2022 return.
The return date lines up with the American’s six month medical suspension.
Wilder’s lack of sportsmanship post-fight has come under fierce criticism.
The 35-year-old refused to show Fury – the better man over the trilogy – respect.
