TODAY, Arsenal finally cut ties with Unai Emery.
The Arsenal manager cut a beleaguered figure in the dugout at an empty Emirates Stadium last night, as the Gunners slumped to a dismal 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The five men who make up Arsenal’s board of directors
That left the North London giants seven games without a win – the last time that happened was in 1992.
And Arsenal’s board members decided the Spaniard’s future at the club was over, replacing him with Freddie Ljungberg as interim manager.
But who were the decision makers at the top who decide Emery’s fate, and now will ultimately be charged with finding his replacement?
CHAIRMAN
SIR CHIPS KESWICK
Arsenal’s chairman since 2013, although he was originally a director since 2005, Sir John Chippendale “Chips” Lindley Keswick is a merchant banker by trade with links to British conglomerate Jardine Matheson.
Previously, he was chairman of Hambros Bank from 1986 to 1998, and is a lifelong Arsenal fan.
Recently, it was reported that Keswick was at loggerheads with head of football Raul Sanllehi over the appointment of legendary Gunner David O’Leary.

JOSH KROENKE
Stan’s son Josh, 39, was appointed to the club’s board of directors in 2013 to keep a closer eye on the team’s proceedings.
It was he who conducted a major review of the club that saw Arsene Wenger’s days at the club become numbered.
There were reports then that he wanted Thierry Henry to take over team affairs from ‘The Professor.’
However, with Henry now signing a deal with Montreal Impact after flopping at Monaco, that now looks increasingly unlikely.

ACADEMY MANAGER
PER MERTESACKER
Another former player, Mertesacker is a winner – having lifted the World Cup with Germany.
He is currently overseeing a complete overhaul of the Gunners academy, a role he took on in 2018.
Staff have been stream-lined on Mertesacker’s advice – with Steve Morrow being the biggest casualty.
In September the BFG revealed: “The amount of staff we have in academies is, I’ve never seen anything like it.
“On one hand it’s good to take care of the players but I don’t know, sometimes I get confused by the number of people who have an impact on one kid.
“We’re talking 100 people or more have an influence on one kid over years. It’s quite a heavy load.”
