PHIL JONES is one of five Manchester United aces who need to leave in the January transfer window to save their careers.

And Ralf Rangnick has adequate cover and fire power to come off the bench if need be.

But there’s some players who should look to move on in search of regular first-team minutes.

Phil Jones

Jones played for Man Utd for the first time in almost two years on Monday.

The No4 stepped into the heart of the defence to play alongside Raphael Varane in club captain Harry Maguire’s absence.

The former England international turned in a standout performance, despite United losing 1-0 to Wolves.

He looked like he’d never been away.

Jones was overwhelmed with emotion as he walked back down the tunnel at full-time, tapping the badge and trying to hold back the tears.

He proved he can still cut it at the top level of English football.

Jones was previously linked with 13 clubs including, Newcastle. And after that stellar performance they may just take a second look.

Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard has just six months left on his current deal and is showing no signs he’ll agree to new terms.

His form on loan at West Ham last season, which saw him score nine Premier League goals from January, means he’s being tracked by a host of clubs.

The England international can agree a pre-contract with foreign clubs.

English clubs, however, have to wait until the summer and hope he hasn’t agreed to a move abroad before they can seal the free transfer.

As a result, clubs could pay United a minimal fee in the winter window to secure the 29-year-old.

Donny van de Beek

Donny van de Beek has played just 361 minutes of football this term.

The Dutchman was close to securing a loan move to Everton in the summer, but the move fell through.

According to ESPN, the midfielder is weighing up his options as he looks for a route out of Old Trafford.

And Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal has made it clear he will only pick players regularly playing for their clubs for the World Cup, making the matter more urgent.

Dean Henderson

Backup goalkeeper Dean Henderson has made just two first-team appearances this season.

Henderson has fallen back behind long serving keeper David de Gea.

And the lack of game time has left the No2 frustrated.

Spurs have been linked with Henderson, but the move was reportedly blocked by Rangnick.

Anthony Martial

With just one goal to his name in ten appearances, Anthony Martial is another United ace who could do with a move away to rediscover himself.

The former Golden Boy winner has failed to live up to the high expectations.

United could even look to offer him to Barcelona in order to get their hands on Ousmane Dembele.

West Ham have also been linked as of late, and that could be a good move if he can recreate the form team-mate lingard showed there.
