Man Utd new boy Van de Beek declares ‘game on’ as he plays pool on table with huge club badge on ahead of Palace opener

DONNY VAN DE BEEK has got his game face on ahead of Manchester United’s opener against Crystal Palace – with a pool table with a huge club badge on it.

The Dutch star took to social media to show off his table with the club crest, although that cue action looks like it needs a bit of work!

Midfielder Van De Beek joined United this month in a £40million deal from Ajax.

Van de Beek declared “Game on” in his post on social media.

United take on Palace at Old Trafford at tea-time today.

It will be their first game of the new season as they were given a week’s grace for reaching the semi-finals of the Europa League.

Van de Beek may start on the bench against the Eagles.

Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has some big choices with the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Fred, Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay battling for the three midfield spots.

Solskjaer has admitted United could still dip into the transfer market before the October deadline.

He said: “We’re looking at a small pool of players who can add to the quality of our team and let’s see what we can do.

“The club’s working hard and I understand that.

“When we sit down and we discuss, sometimes it doesn’t happen as planned.

“Life isn’t a straight line here, sometimes things happen and I’ve always said it – I’m very happy to work with these players.

“There’s still a few weeks left of the transfer window, it might happen that we get someone in.

“I’ve worked with the club and they know what I feel the team and the squad needs and let’s see if we can add to what we have.”

United, which finished third last season, have been linked with a £108m move for Borussia Dortmund’s England star Jadon Sancho.

Dortmund have played hardball all summer.
