Khabib demands Dana White make UFC fight at Barcelona’s Nou Camp with 100,000 fans after getting signed Mbappe shirt

KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV called on UFC president Dana White to make a fight at Barcelona’s 100,000 capacity Nou Camp stadium.
UFC lightweight champion Khabib travelled to Spain to watch Barca’s Champions League clash with PSG.

Khabib posed for a picture with keeper Kaylor Navas

The night belonged to 22-year-old sensation Kylian Mbappe, who scored a hat-trick as the French champions ran riot, winning 4-1.
Afterwards, Nurmagomedov got himself a signed match day shirt from the man of the moment Mbappe and posed for a picture with keeper Kaylor Navas.
Dagestani hero Khabib, a Real Madrid fan, also told White on Instagram Live: “Hey Dana you here? Let’s make fight here 100,000 people, let’s go”
The UFC has never in its 28-years history hosted an event in Spain.

Nurmagomedov, 32, was unfortunate not to watch his beloved Madrid in action as they play in next week’s round of European games.
Khabib, who retired from the UFC in October, is an avid football fan and joked he was going to make his debut on the pitch.
He even received an ambitious offer from Russian third tier football side FC Kamaz, who were willing to take the MMA star on trial.
Khabib hung up his gloves after the first fight since the loss of his influential father Abdulmanap, who passed away aged 57 in July.

Anderson Silva tops the list for the biggest UFC win streak

But with Nurmagomedov one win away from achieving his dad’s dream of 30-0, White held a meeting to tempt the Russian back for one final fight.
It was then revealed after Conor McGregor, 32, was beaten by Dustin Poirier, also 32 – two of Khabib’s ex-opponents – that he had no inspiration to return.
But White is not giving up hope just yet with the pair now set for fresh showdown talks in Las Vegas.
Nurmagomedov as a result has kept his lightweight belt, but he has hinted it will be vacated should he choose to remain on the sidelines for now.

Paul broke his nose while meditating in the lead up to his last fight, where he knocked out ex-NBA point guard Nate Robinson.
The YouTuber joked the accidental injury worked in his favour as he admitted to not fearing for his looks.
Paul, 24, told SunSport: “It doesn’t worry me, there’s some great doctors out there nowadays and great dentists. I broke my nose two months ago.
“But what’s funny is that when I broke it, it actually got straighter. So it was actually more crooked before I broke it.

“I actually have a black eye right now from training and from sparring. But you know, it’s it’s it’s all it’s all part of the business and girls love.
“Girls love black eyes. So that’s, you know, it’s actually working in my benefit.”
Paul made his professional debut in 2020, as he beat internet rival ‘AnEsonGib’.
He then enhanced his knockout record to two in as many fights last November, leaving Robinson, 36, flattened in two rounds and into a meme.

Before boxing Paul, and his older brother Logan, 25, were renowned only for their viral videos and online antics.
The pair also featured as small screen stars on the Disney Channel show Bizaardvark for two years.
Paul’s next opponent, retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, was quick to mock the American for his prior career ahead of their April 17 headliner.
And Robinson too made a point of the multimillionaire’s upbringing and questioned whether he had the determination to make it as a fighter.
Paul now warned Askren, 36, that he his words can come back to haunt him, like was the case with Robinson, who was dropped THREE TIMES.
He predicted the former MMA champion will be made to look only more foolish every time he refers to him as a ‘Disney kid’.

“I’m completely embracing that I actually made a side by side comparison of my stats and his stats as as a fighter.
“You know, he’s a two time NCAA champion Olympic wrestler. He’s defeated MMA legends he has a better record than Conor McGregor.
“And me on the other hand, I put Disney actor YouTuber virgin, the list goes on.
“But this is why it’s embarrassing for him is because he’s going to get beat up by a kid who was on Disney Channel.
“So you know, he can keep on promoting that I’m a Disney actor, but when I knock him out that just gonna make him look even more stupid.”

Manny Pacquiao was ‘much worse’ than Conor McGregor was against Floyd Mayweather, says ex-UFC star Chael Sonnen

CONOR McGREGOR fought better than Manny Pacquiao did against Floyd Mayweather, according to ex-UFC star Chael Sonnen.
Pacquiao was outboxed over 12 rounds against Mayweather in 2015 in the richest fight in boxing history.

Former UFC champion McGregor was then unsuccessful against the American legend two years later, as he was stopped in round ten.
But Sonnen reckons PacMan ‘did much worse’ in his attempt to beat Mayweather when compared to McGregor’s effort.
And the former UFC title challenger even backed The Notorious to fight Pacquiao, having already shared the ring with Mayweather.
He explained: “Pacquiao did much worse with Floyd than Conor did.

“If that’s the only thing we have to compare it to, then let’s do the fight. Manny Pacquiao? One of the best ever?
“All of those things are true but he’s already done it once and he did it with Floyd, who’s better than Pacquiao.
“I’m just saying, we don’t how good Conor is.”
McGregor, 32, made his boxing debut the night he fought Mayweather, 43, who went on to retire a perfect 50-0.

The Irishman did win some of the early rounds and ended the fight having landed 111 punches.
In contrast, Filipino icon Pacquiao, 41, only scored with 81 shots, despite having two more rounds to do so.
But Mayweather had not boxed for two years before facing McGregor, and claimed press ups and sit ups were his sole training methods before the bout.
McGregor has vowed to return to the ring and believes he will even win a world title in boxing.
He even face off against Pacquiao, after revealing the pair were in talks.

Correct. Southpaw box style. Continue to sharpen my MMA skills with some tough competition, while leading into my Manny bout preparation. It’s not easy going between both sports and then coming back to the one sport again.Just want to keep sharp guys, that’s all. It’s only fair. https://t.co/PnjHb4VP9j

Jake Paul opens up over ‘curse’ of being Disney kid and how Ben Askren taunts motivate him to knock out UFC star

JAKE PAUL has opened up on the Disney ‘curse’ – and revealed he is using Ben Askren’s taunts as motivation to knock out the retired UFC fighter.
The internet personality-turned professional boxer was a hit with kids on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark, playing Dirk Mann from 2015 to 2017.

His prior career as a small screen star has not been forgotten by ex-UFC welterweight Askren, who mocked Paul for being a ‘Disney kid’.
But now the 36-year-old, who hung up his gloves in 2019, has been warned his words could come back to haunt him come fight night on April 17.
Paul, 24, told SunSport: “You know, I think he’s doing a good job of promoting the fight and talking smack.

But since leaving TV, both have enjoyed superstardom on YouTube and an ever-growing presence in the boxing business.
In doing so, they avoided the Disney ‘curse’ which has seen other stars suffer mental health breakdowns, eating disorders and suicide attempts.
Paul said: “You know, I think it’s because there’s a lot of pressure and difficulty that comes with childhood fame.
“And growing up with your life under a microscope.
“So when you become famous at an early age, everyone’s gonna want you to fail, they’re gonna want to see you mess up, they’re gonna want to scrutinise you for everything.
“And so I think Disney kids become a product of that. And it’s almost like, people are wanting them to mess up. So they then mess up.
“And they’re working all the time. Like when I was on set, it was a lot of work. And so I think imbalances in life aren’t good.
“And so if you’re working all the time as a kid, all of a sudden, when that stops, maybe you want to party, maybe you want to have fun, and maybe that sort of leads down the wrong path.

Both the Paul brothers have transitioned into boxing
“You know, for me, I was lucky to be above that, in many ways. And I was a little bit older when I came into the Disney’s ecosystem.
“But that’s sort of what I see from being in there. And yeah, I think like growing up under a microscope isn’t easy.”
Asked does Disney offer therapy for kid stars, Paul responded: “I think the support system around those is really strong.
“And a lot of kids parents are super involved in the day to day process. They have the teachers and people on set to always help them.
“So I definitely see a strong support system in it and a lot of ways Disney even would ask me to step in and be a big brother to these kids.
“So in many ways i was their big brother, or they looked up to me. So I think there was a good support system and everyone there was just super loving.”
Paul and Disney ‘mutually agreed’ to end their partnership but it was later speculated the American’s behaviour while making viral videos led to the axe.

But he still insists he had a part in the decision to walk away and believes people are quick to suggest he was fired in order to fit his wild child narrative.
Paul explained: “I think it was a long time coming. You know, a lot of the media paint any picture of you that they want.
“The split between Disney and I, in fact, was mutual, it was like sort of this thing that was coming.
“But at the time, everyone was like, ‘Oh, you got fired by Disney, you got fired by Disney’. So I kind of just ran with it.
“Because there wasn’t really like, I wasn’t able to tell the truth about it. Or people just didn’t want to hear the truth.
“They just wanted to be like Jake Paul got fired by Disney.
“But it was sort of this, too, you know, a brand and Disney and Jake Paul, kind of two brands growing apart.
“And so it sort of made sense. And ultimately, both parties are happier after that split.”
