The match was initially supposed to take place on Sunday, but it’s been brought forward by a day due to Chelsea’s Champions League commitments the following week.
Chelsea were placed in Group E in the competition with AC Milan, Red Bull Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb, after last week’s draw.
And the Blues’ first game in the Champions League against Zagreb is now on Tuesday September 6.
So Thomas Tuchel’s side would have only had two days to prepare for the Champions League tie if their match against the Hammers went ahead on Sunday as originally planned.

But now fans from both Chelsea and West Ham have been given no time to prepare for Saturday’s Prem blockbuster.
Kick-off time is still slated as TBC (to be confirmed) on the Prem’s website with just five days to go.
And the Prem’s lack of clarity ahead of the game has caused supporters from both clubs trusts’ to deliver a scathing joint statement to the league’s decision-makers.
It read: “The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust and The West Ham United Supporters’ Trust are appalled, yet not surprised, at the predictable farce surrounding the scheduling for the fixture this weekend.

“It was totally unacceptable for the fixture date to be altered with only a week’s notice, however, the broadcasting companies and the Premier League have still not confirmed the kick-off time – this is a disgrace.”
“All parties have been aware since June the fixtures were announced in June that this game may have to be moved due to UEFA clashes.
“It is unacceptable that a comprehensive contingency plan was not created in advance to avoid the existing situation. The lack of planning and foresight has had an awful impact on supporters.
“Tickets have been bought, accommodation has been booked, travel has been paid for and plans have been confirmed. For supporters to not know the kick-off time five days in advance is deeply unacceptable.
“Supporters are being treated with complete contempt.
“The issue must be solved as a matter of urgency.”
The Premier League are yet to respond to the statement made by the fans.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Antonio Conte’s side are discussing a loan deal with an option-to-buy.
Everton have also submitted an enquiry over the Welshman’s availability.
However, Leeds would also be more than happy to keep him after he started the last two Premier League games.
Should James leave Elland Road, it would represent the third club he has represented in the space of a year.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
James, 24, joined Leeds from Manchester United last summer for a club-record £30million.
He was one of only a few senior players who remained fit throughout the majority of the campaign, and contributed four goals and five assists in 34 league games.
In the two years prior he spent with Man United, the speedster managed nine goals and nine assists in all competitions.
James’ pace and work rate are highly desirable attributes for any team, despite his relative lack of goal or assist output while playing Premier League football.

Everton look set to lose starlet Anthony Gordon in a £60m transfer to Chelsea so James would naturally come in as a like-for-like replacement.
Leeds have already lost star winger Raphinha and England midfielder Kalvin Phillips to Barcelona and Manchester City respectively for a combined £100m.

However, seven points from a possible 12 at the start of the season – with new signings such as Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen and Tyler Adams starting the season well – have alleviated some early fears of relegation.
Leeds also want to sign Hwang Hee-Chan from Wolves, but will be joined in their pursuit by Everton if The Toffees fail to sign Ben Brereton Diaz. More

And Lodi’s loan move will cost Forest £4.2m plus a £25m option to buy, that’s been embedded in the transfer by Atletico.

It will take a bid of £70million-plus for Everton to even consider selling the 21-year-old.
But Lampard, who made his own big money move as a player when he left schoolboy club West Ham for Chelsea in 2002, suggested Gordon owes the Goodison side a debt of loyalty at this stage of his career.
Lampard, who insisted Gordon is “in the squad, for sure” for Tuesday’s game at Leeds, said: “Anthony wouldn’t, couldn’t and shouldn’t do react badly and have his head turned with me.
“I think he knows that and there’s no doubt about it.

“And I’m not playing the hard one. It’s just that it would be so alien to what I would expect of him. I just know that’s not him.
“At the same time, he’s not robot and you know all this attention is difficult.

“I understand – I was that ambitious, hardworking young player and that’s the beauty of Anthony – he’s hard working and wants to be better.
“He wants to do what he did at Brentford, which is score goals, work for this team and that’s why he’s a delight to work with.

“There was never any idea that he’d react in any other way.
“That was my approach when it happened to me.
“But I played three and a half, maybe four seasons for West Ham. So there’s my answer to Anthony – he’s only played one for us.”
Lampard added: “Anthony’s character is great.
“He’s a huge player for us, it’s as simple as that. We are getting to the end of the window now but Anthony is a huge player for us and will be this season.” More
