    United fortunate with penalty
Whilst they were entirely deserving of the victory tonight, Manchester United were lucky to get a penalty as a foul from Zach Abbott was made outside the area, after a heavy touch by Garnacho.
With no VAR to overturn the referee’s decision, he had to stick with his instinct and award the penalty, which Garnacho dispatched confidently.
Who knows if it was not given, Forest may have found a winner with the game poised at 1-1 at the time.
However, it was not to be for Forest.

He cuts back with the elegance of Argentine team mate Lionel Messi, and finishes his dinner, it does take a deflection past the keeper, but he won’t mind.
He runs off and takes off his shirt, which will see him pick up a yellow card for his troubles.
Sir Alex applauds him from the stands with a huge smile on his face.
    Remember the name, Alejandro Garnacho.

Castillo played in eight of Ecuador’s qualifiers as they finished in the fourth and final automatic slot and were drawn alongside Qatar, Holland and Senegal last month.
But Fifa have now announced it has opened formal disciplinary proceedings “in relation to the potential ineligibility” of the player, which would see Ecuador stripped of all their points from those matches and their opponents awarded 3-0 wins.

Why Chelsea dropped out of Haaland race
Chelsea withdrew from the race to sign Erling Haaland because they had DOUBTS about his ability to play in the Premier League, according to reports, writes GIACOMO PISA.
The 21-year-old will officially become a Manchester City player on July 1 after the club activated his £51million release clause.
But Pep Guardiola’s Premier League leaders weren’t the only side sniffing around the goalscoring sensation. Chelsea too spent time monitoring Haaland, who has scored a whopping 85 goals in 88 games for Borussia Dortmund.

But reporting back to club bosses, Blues scouts raised concerns about Haaland’s ability to be as prolific in the Premier League, according to ESPN. The report states there were doubts as to whether his style of play would be suited to playing in the Prem.
Haaland feeds off space in behind to run in to, something that is more frequently offered to strikers in the Bundesliga. The Norway international was afforded the room to utilise his incredible raw pace and power to maximum effect.
But less space for attackers in the Premier League led to doubts about his ability to wreak as much havoc on defenders.
And Chelsea weren’t the only club to raise their concerns about Haaland. ESPN claim Barcelona were not convinced by his “personality and character,” while Real Madrid had reservations regarding his injury record.
‘Utd and Spurs target’ Dybala tipped for Inter

But both teams could lose the race to Juve’s big Italian rivals Inter.
And Italian outlet La Gazzetta delo Sport even say Dybala has chosen the Nerazzurri as his next club.
    Gueye roped in by Spurs
Tottenham reportedly want ex-Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye.
Jeunes Footeaux claims the tenacious star has emerged as a target for Antonio Conte as he approaches the final year of his PSG contract.
Gueye, 32, joined the French champions from Everton for £30million in 2019.
He has since won two titles and two French Cups after playing 110 games.
But PSG are ready to cut Gueye loose as they look for fresh faces this summer.
Rice tipped to reject 8-year Hammers’ deal
United and Chelsea target Declan Rice will turn down West Ham’s offer of an eight-year deal believing it would be crazy to commit the majority of his career to the club, reports SunSport’s Duncan Wright.
The East Londoners have tabled a £200,000-a-week offer for Rice taking him through until 2030.
The 23-year-old is one of the hottest prospects in European football and admits he may have to quit the London Stadium to play the top-level football he craves.
And though The Hammers have now come up with four improved offers in an attempt to tie him down the midfielder is standing firm by rejecting all of them.
Central to his thinking is not wanting to box himself into a similar position to Harry Kane, who saw his dream move to Manchester City blocked because Tottenham had him locked into a long-term deal.

The East Londoners have tabled a £200,000-a-week offer for Rice taking him through until 2030.
But SunSport understands the £10million-a-year package is being viewed by the Chelsea and Manchester United target’s side as West Ham co-owner David Sullivan playing to the crowd.
The 23-year-old is one of the hottest prospects in European football and admits he may have to quit the London Stadium to play the top-level football he craves.
And though The Hammers have now come up with four improved offers in an attempt to tie him down the midfielder is standing firm by rejecting all of them.

Wanda wonga is Maur than Icardi’s
Wanda Icardi ICARDI might be earning more than her football superstar husband Mauro Icardi, according to reports in Spain, writes JAMES COLOSANTI.
The Argentine influencer and businesswoman is raking in a small fortune, according to figures published in Mundo Deportivo.
The report says the 35-year-old’s income has been boosted after she recently signed a ‘millionaire agreement’ with her ex-husband Maxi Lopez following their divorce.

It adds the former Barcelona forward, 38, will have to continue to pay alimony until the youngest of their three children turns 21-years-old in 12 years’ time.
And it reveals that Wanda will get the house they shared in Santa Barbara, California, as part of the settlement.
The report explains Wanda’s successful and growing cosmetics brand along with advertising opportunities, social media and television work have also boosted her earning potential.
And, it adds, Wanda’s income includes commission earned as a football agent for Paris Saint-Germain star Mauro, 29.
The article quotes comments made by Argentine lawyer Mauricio D’Alessandro on the Argentine TV program, Intrusos.
He believes Wanda’s various income streams mean she is likely to be earning about €262,500 per month (£225,000).
Rodruiguez set to snub Becks’ Miami
David Beckham looks set to lose out on a major transfer for Inter Miami after James Rodriguez confirmed his desire to return to Europe this summer, writes TONY ROBERTSON.
Rodriguez, who is formerly of Everton and Real Madrid, is currently plying his trade out in Qatar with Al-Rayyan.
Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star Beckham wanted to bring Rodriguez to his Major League Soccer franchise Inter Miami, but now such a move looks unlikely after Rodriguez revealed his summer plans.

As quoted by Pipe Sierra via Fabrizio Romano, the Colombian said: “The transfer market will open soon, we’ll see.
“Returning to the elite football is a serious possibility, let’s see who wants my left foot again.”
Rodriguez joined Al-Rayyan in the Autumn of last year after being frozen out of Everton by then manager Rafael Benitez.
The 30-year-old has scored four goals and registered seven assists in just 12 league matches in Qatar this season.
However, Al-Rayyan sit in just eighth place in the Qatar Stars League having lost 10 games and winning just half of the other 12 they have played.
The 2014 World Cup Golden Boot winner had been consistently linked to Inter Miami, who already have Blaise Matuidi and Gonzalo Higuain among their ranks.
    Basrcelona in for Chelsea duo
Chelsea are reportedly open to a swap deal which would see Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso transfer to Barcelona, writes EMILIA HAWKINS.
In exchange, Sergino Dest and Neto could move to Stamford Bridge.
The Catalan giants have already agreed a five-year deal with Blues centre back Andreas Christensen.

But they are now set to raid Chelsea for two more defenders.
The Blues are currently limited in terms of player negotiations due to the sanctions placed on the club by the UK Government.
However, they will be allowed to complete deals when the takeover bid is officially confirmed and accepted.
According to Spanish outlet Sport.es, the West London club want to sign Dest and Neto in exchange for Azpilicueta and Alonso.
The two Blues are both said to be keen on a move to Camp Nou.
The club have reportedly agreed a deal with Azpilicueta which would see him earn around £11million per-season.
Meanwhile, Xavi also wants bring in Alonso.
Nine players are expected to leave Barcelona this summer, including Dest and Neto. Both are currently surplus to requirements, so the club will likely be open to a move. Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay are also on the list of potential departures.
Conte might quit Spurs unless they splash out
Ex-Tottenham and Chelsea midfielder Gus Poyet reckons Spurs boss Antonio Conte might quit unless he’s allowed to spend big this summer.
Conte’s fifth-placed team will leapfrog Arsenal if they win tomorrow night’s Prem derby at home.
But Uruguay legend Poyet told Boyle Sports: “I think if he isn’t promised transfers in the summer window, he could leave.
“Everyone was talking about Conte and PSG last summer and it seemed they weren’t ready for each-other, so why now?
“The situation with PSG and Conte is strange for many reasons as they do not play like Unai Emery or Mauricio Pochettino.
“But maybe he’s what they need to get their special trophy that they’re looking for.
“The two teams that need it the most are PSG and Man City and they cannot get it.”
New director promises Boehly bonanza on transfers
Todd Boehly is set to splash the cash this summer at Chelsea once his £4.25billion takeover of the club is completed, writes JAKE LAMBOURNE.
That is the promise of incoming director Daniel Finkelstein, who will be part of the Blues‘ board once the takeover goes through.

American billionaire Boehly and his consortium have agreed a £4.25bn deal to buy the club from Russian owner Roman Abramovich.
The 46-year-old’s team consists of billionaires Mark Walter, Hansjorg Wyss and investment firm Clearlake Capital.
In a statement, Chelsea said the deal is “expected to complete in late May subject to all necessary regulatory approvals”.
Chelsea’s proposed £4.25bn takeover is set to be more than DOUBLE the record for the most expensive in sporting history.
Boehly was in attendance at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to watch the club draw 2-2 against Wolves as Conor Coady scored a dramatic 97th minute equaliser.
And it appears that he is aware that the West London outfit need strengthening, with the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger all set to depart as free agents.
Callum and Nketiah tipped for Ghana switch
Callum Hudson-Odoi and Eddie Nketiah are set to switch from England to Ghana before the winter’s 2022 World Cup.
That is according to Football London, who claim that the two players have been convinced to link up with the African nation, for which they are eligible to play.
Arsenal ace Nketiah, 22, leads the Three Lions’ Under-21 all-time scoring list with 16 goals in 17 appearances but has never competed for the senior team.
Chelsea star Hudson-Odoi, 21, on the other hand, has registered three senior caps. They all came in 2019 when Gareth Southgate dealt with an injury crisis.
A Fifa rule change in 2020 allows players with no more than three international appearances to change their allegiance if those caps came before their 21st birthday.
Therefore, both players can complete the move, which would boost their hopes of playing in the winter’s World Cup in Qatar
    Jes the ticket
Manchester United ace Jesse Lingard, whose contract runs out in June, has priced himself out of a transfer to Newcastle.
The Magpies pushed hard to sign Lingard on loan in January, only to be scared off by United’s £16million loan fee.
The Toon have subsequently been touted as a logical potential free agent destination for the midfielder.
According to the Telegraph, however, the England international has scared them off with his financial demands.
They claim that the 29-year-old wants in excess of £150,000-a-week at his next team
    Transfer Dor closing
Borussia Dortmund have claimed they can “win the fight for Jude Bellingham” despite interest from Manchester United and Liverpool.
Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke believes they can keep Bellingham after losing Erling Haaland to Manchester City despite rumours linking him to United and the Reds.
Watzke told CNN: “That’s the only way for us because when a player performs very well, we have to fight against the big, big, big clubs with the oligarchs and the Arabian states at their back. And this fight we cannot win.
“But we can win a fight over an 18-year-old player, like Jude Bellingham, because this player loves to play at Borussia Dortmund because we have always 80,000 spectators, it’s a very good atmosphere and the club knows how to manage young players.
“That’s our way and, OK, we have a good department who are scouting young players every day, but it’s also very important if you have the player here, you must develop him and I think that works… most of the time, it works”
    West Ham Dec-lined
West Ham star Declan Rice will turn down the Hammers’ offer of an eight-year deal believing it would be crazy to commit the majority of his career to the club, reports SunSport’s Duncan Wright.
Central to his thinking is not wanting to box himself into a similar position to Harry Kane, who saw his dream move to Manchester City blocked because Tottenham had him locked into a long-term deal

    Fabian Ruiz price named
Arsenal will have to pay £34million for Napoli star Fabian Ruiz in the summer transfer window.
According to Napoli Piu, the Gunners are the “most interested” in signing Ruiz, who has also attracted attention from elsewhere.
The Partenopei have set an initial price tag of £34m for the midfielder due to his contract situation.
The Spain international has one year remaining on his current contract, meaning his value will likely decrease if he is not sold in the next window – and in 12 months he will be available for free.
The report also suggests that the Serie A outfit could even be persuaded to drop the price by around £3.4m to facilitate a move
    More from Jesus agent
Arsenal are targeting Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus ahead of the summer transfer window.
But the Gunners are facing competition from six other teams, who are also interested in Jesus.
That is according to the centre-forward’s agent Marcelo Pettinati, who also admitted his client likes the project at the Emirates.
Pettinati added: “There are six more clubs interested in Gabriel – he’s focused on final games with Man City, we’ll see”
    Gabriel Jesus confirmation
Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus’ agent has confirmed transfer talks with Arsenal, admitting his client likes the club’s project.
That is a significant transfer boost for the Gunners’ search for a striker as they face the prospect of having no one to lead the line in June.
Jesus’ agent Marcelo Pettinati has admitted that the striker likes the project that Arteta is putting together.
Pettinati told transfer expert Fabrizio Romano: “We had talks with Arsenal about Gabriel Jesus, we like the project – it’s a possibility we’re discussing”
    Ten Hag’s assistant
Manchester United are closing in on naming Mitchell van der Gaag as incoming boss Erik ten Hag’s assistant.
Van der Gaag is Ten Hag’s No2 at Ajax and an agreement is “getting closer”, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils are claimed to consider the Dutchman an “important addition” to the coaching team and have been working on an agreement for months.
Ten Hag is planning a major overhaul at United ahead of his imminent arrival

Signing off from the Stadio Olimpico
Inter Milan have won the Coppa Italia, and have added it to the Supercoppa Italia they claimed at the start of this year.
Now can Simone Inzaghi’s men go one stop further and feel in their city rivals to claim the Serie A title and an impressive treble?
Two points behind with two games to go, the odds are against them – but this is football, and anything can happen. We found that out this evening.
    Grazie e buona notte.
    Inter Milan: Coppa Italia winners
Rome will be left black and blue this evening.

    Inter-rupted: Juve sick of rivals
After dominating Italian football for a decade, Juventus have entered something of a fallow period – and their derby d’Italia rivals are to blame for much of it.
Inter’s Serie A success last season brought an end to Juve’s streak of nine successive Scudettos, and it’s also the Nerazzurri that have defeated them in each of this season’s two domestic cup finals.
And of the four meetings in all competitions this campaign, the Milan side have won three with the other ending in a draw.

    Old Lady found without silverware
For the first time in 11 years, Juventus will end a season without winning any silverware.
Fourth in Serie A, dumped out of the Champions League by Villarreal, and beaten by Inter Milan in both the final of the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa.
There is plenty for Max Allegri to consider this summer.

Full time – Juventus 2-4 Inter
Inter Milan win the Coppa Italia!
Two superb strikes from Ivan Perisic in extra-time – one a penalty – were the difference after a topsy-turvy 90 minutes swung one way and then the other.
Perisic completed the scoring with a long-range stunner, and that’s exactly how the evening had begun with Nicola Barella firing Inter in front from 25 yards after just six minutes.
Yet Juve roared back in the second half, and, within seven minutes of the restart, were in the lead.
A deflected Alex Sandro shot and a Dusan Vlahovic goal soon had the Old Lady reaching for the trophy, but a disputed spotkick – the first of the night – allowed Hakan Calhanoglu to take the contest into another half hour..
Enter Perisic, and for the first time in 11 years, the Nerazzurri have landed themselves the Italian Cup.

    Juventus 2-4 Inter
    120. The Inter bench are lined up alongside the touchline, arms linked together and they are already celebrating.
They’ll have two more minutes to wait until it’s official, but Inter Milan will be this year’s Coppa Italia winners.
Juventus 2-4 Inter – Vidal yellow card
    118. And any Inter game wouldn’t be complete without a yellow card for Arturo Vidal.
The Chilean is cautioned for flattening a clearly unhappy Juan Cuadrado.
Juventus 2-4 Inter – Inter substitution
    116. Federico Dimarco was introduced midway through the second half, and helped swing the game back in Inter Milan’s favour.
His job is now done, and he himself is going to be replaced. Young centre-half Alessandro Bastoni is on for the final few minutes.
    Juventus 2-4 Inter
    114. It’s a precession to the final whistle for Inter now, and their supporters at the far of the Stadio Olimpico are loving every minute.
    Juventus 2-4 Inter
    112. Ouch! Sanchez ends up on the receiving end of a sore one, after having the studs of an opponent raked down his elbow.
Must have been a United fan.
    Juventus 2-4 Inter
    109. Perisic, the two goal hero of extra-time, should be on cloud nine.
Instead, he’s thrown a hissy fit because he didn’t get a corner after his cross appeared to flick off Cuadrado.
    Extra-time 2nd period kick-off – Juventus 2-4 Inter
    106. Inter have just 15 minutes to hold out for their second trophy of the season.
As it stands, Juventus are facing up to their first trophy-less season in a decade.
    Extra-time half-time – Juventus 2-4 Inter
After two goals from Ivan Perisic in the first half of extra-time, Inter are in complete control.
It’s not so much one hand on the cup as nine fingers.
    Juventus 2-4 Inter
    104. Those in the Juventus ranks have lost their head, and it’s resulted in a red card for their head coach Max Allegri!
The Juve boss was furious with something that was said from the Inter bench following Perisic’s second goal, and he had to be held back from retaliating in kind.
Paolo Valeri runs across to issue a straight red to Allegri, who needs one of his players to drag him away from the ongoing chaos.
    Juventus 2-4 Inter
    102. Ivan Perisic has surely sealed Coppa Italia success for Inter Milan!
The midfielder takes a delicate first touch with his right foot to flick up Federico Dimarco’s pull-back, and then unleashes a sensational drive into the top corner with his left.
It’s the best goal of the night which is saying something considering how Nicola Barella got the evening rolling.
A brilliant cup final has surely been put out of Juventus’ reach by a brilliant goal.

    Goal! Sensational from Ivan Perisic!
Juventus 2-3 Inter – Juventus substitution
    100. Everton loanee Moises Kean is Max Allegri’s last throw of the dice. The striker is on for Paulo Dybala.
    Juventus 2-3 Inter
    98. With no Hakan Calhanoglu on the pitch, and – thankfully – no Lautaro Martinez either, responsibility is handed to Ivan Perisic.
The Croatian follows the lead of Calhanoglu before him, and slams his spotkick spectacularly into the top left corner, sending Mattia Perin the wrong way in the process.
From 1-0 up to 2-1 down, Inter Milan are now 3-2 up in the Coppa Italia final.

Goal! Ivan Perisic fires Inter back in front!
    VAR Review! Penalty to Inter!
    Juventus 2-2 Inter
    96. De-de-de-drama at the Stadio Olimpico!
De Light clips the knee of De Vrij in the box, and sends his compatriot tumbling to the turf.
Referee Paolo Valeri isn’t interested on this occasion, but it looked to be much more of a foul than the one that was awarded in normal time.
After Morata wastes a good opportunity to break, it’s revealed that a VAR check is ongoing…
    Juventus 2-2 Inter
    94. Juventus haven’t registered an attempt since the 65th minute of the game.
Max Allegri made the conscious decision to protect their lead, and his side are now struggling to build-up any kind of attacking presence.
    Juventus 2-2 Inter
    92. Alexis Sanchez rolls back the years – the Arsenal ones, not the Manchester United ones – by executing a splendid dipping volley that forces Perin into making a sharp stop.
    Extra-time kick-off – Juventus 2-2 Inter
    91. The extra half-hour begins.
Max Allegri has been the new period by replacing Alex Sandro with Luca Pellegrini.
Full time – Juventus 2-2 Inter
That’s the end of 90 minutes at the Stadio Olimpico, but fear not – we’re going to get another 30.
It ends 2-2 at the end of regulation time in a final that has swung one way and then the other.
Juve turned their half-time deficit around in the blink of an eye at the start of the second half, but a late Inter Milan penalty means these two clubs will next extra time and possibly penalties to separate them.

Mindset may be dragging players down
It is clear to see that the Leeds players are devoid of any sort of confidence whatsoever.
When you are stuck in a rut of the same negative results it can be difficult to snap out of it.
So late on in the season, the timing is calamitous for Marsch’s team.

    Tuchel touching Champions League qualification
If Tottenham fail to win against Arsenal on Sunday, Chelsea will have their qualification guaranteed.
It is a big ask of Conte’s inconsistent side to win all three of their remaining games but while it is still mathematically possible, Tuchel will not rest on his laurels.
    This means more.
Gravity takes it toll on Leeds
Technically, it is Leeds’ performances and lack of goals that will see them go down this season.
Maybe gravity has some part to play with how easily they are going down.
Part of me thinks having no shots on goal in 90 minutes of football has something to do with it also.
    FT: Leeds 0-3 Chelsea
The referee brings the game to a close.
Leeds fans all around the ground feel like those Chilean miners when they were released by the emergency teams.
They are free from this ordeal.
    Leeds 0-3 Chelsea
90+2. It will be a surprise to see Leeds get the points they need to stay up now.
At this time of the season, there is always one side sucked into bad form where they couldn’t even buy a win.
Leeds are that team this season.
    Leeds 0-3 Chelsea
    90. We are going to have an additional 3 minutes of torture here.
That is if you are a Leeds United fan.
Chelsea fans will feel like European Champions again.
Mason Mount wins a deserving player of the match.
    Leeds 0-3 Chelsea
    88. Leeds have now conceded 37 home league goals.
Their second worst tally in the top-flight.
Cameras pan onto the Leeds owner who looks like he has bought shares in a hugging company as the pandemic breaks out.
    Leeds 0-3 Chelsea
    86. The Chelsea fans sing loudly from the away end.
This has been an easy visit North for the Londoners.
Leeds look ready for the final whistle.

    Leeds 0-3 Chelsea
    84. Finally persistence pays off for Chelsea’s striker.
He seemed to take too long to get the shot away.
Lukaku burying the ball into the top corner.
    Goal – Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea)
    Leeds 0-2 Chelsea
    82. Chelsea have recently dropped points from winning positions.
If they do that today, take Jesse Marsch’s lottery numbers.
Leeds have still yet to register a shot on target.
Leeds 0-2 Chelsea – Lukaku chance
    80. Alonso does well down the left beating his marker.
He squares the ball back to Lukaku.
The Belgian gets to the ball and shoots but it is deflected wide.
    Leeds 0-2 Chelsea
    78. Rafinha comes off for Gelhardt.
When you look at Leeds’ situation it makes for bleak reading.
You would wonder if Harry Houdini could get out of this one.
    Leeds 0-2 Chelsea
    76. Ziyech and Azpilicueta are about to come on for Chelsea.
Some fresh legs to rest players for the final this weekend.
Gelhardt looks about to come on for Leeds as well.
    Leeds 0-2 Chelsea
    74. Sometimes I wonder if a cardboard cut-out of Romelu Lukaku would stand as much of a chance of scoring as the big man himself.
Statistically one should deflect off him and in over the 90 minutes.
Chelsea’s striker will be livid if doesn’t score this evening.

    Leeds 0-2 Chelsea
    72. Leeds have a free kick just inside the Chelsea half.
Some breather for the defence and goalkeeper.
    Lukaku clears the in-swinging delivery.
    Leeds 0-2 Chelsea
    70. What this Leeds team could do with Mark Viduka in his prime now.
To be honest we would probably be talking about they need to get more service into the player.
Leeds manage four consecutive passes before gifting it back to the visitors.
    Leeds 0-2 Chelsea
    68. Not too long ago, Leeds fans felt they were not too far from securing their Premier League safety with a few wins.
Football can be a cruel mistress.
They look way out of their depth tonight.
    Leeds 0-2 Chelsea
    66. Chelsea fans have started the ole’s to every touch.
Painful viewing to be a Leeds United fan.
Tuchel’s side are in the mood for more goals.
Leeds 0-2 Chelsea – Lukaku chance
    64. The big Belgian striker is looking in confident mood.
Rolling Cooper and finding himself some space to shoot.
He drags his effort just wide of the post.

    Leeds 0-2 Chelsea
    62. Leeds are going through the motions.
Not even Jesus could save Leeds now.
Man City are looking to sell as well with arrival of Haaland.
    Leeds 0-2 Chelsea
    60. If this were a boxing match, someone from the Leeds’ corner would have thrown the towel in by now.
It would feel like more of a commentary of their Premier League status to do that right now.
Chelsea enjoying an evening stroll here, getting their steps in.
Leeds 0-2 Chelsea – Pulisic chance!
    58. This could be a very long last 30 minutes for the home faithful.
Rodrigo loses the ball to American just outside his own box.
He shoots looking for the top corner but it a few feet wide.
    Leeds 0-2 Chelsea
    56. Game over right there.
As Chelsea come forward, there are player overloads all over the pitch.
It is laid off to Pulisic on the edge of the box who strokes it home.
    Game over for Leeds.
    Goal – Christian Pulisic (Chelsea)

    That’s all from Molineux
Man City take a huge step towards the Premier League title after a convincing 5-1 win against mid-table Wolves.
With two games remaining, Pep Guardiola’s side now need just four points to claim the trophy.
Thank you for reading, and goodnight!
    Kevin De Bruyne reacts
“It was a great start from the team and myself. I thought we played a good game away so I’m very happy with the team.
“I try to understand the situation better. If my team makes the movements I try and find them.
“The connection with the team has been exceptional and that’s why I love playing with them.
“We alternated really well. Whenever Bernardo Silva or Phil Foden was going into the space, we went vice versa.
“Whenever we had opportunities in the first half we scored and that changed the dynamic of the game.
“Whenever [Liverpool] play you watch the game or the scores. Both teams have the most respect because we know how hard it is and we’ve been doing it for years.
“Whenever we play we have to play the game we play. That’s what we did today and we will have to do the same against West Ham.
“West Ham had a great season and played really well. It is their last home game of the season so we know it will be a tough one.
“We don’t have a lot of players but now it is commitment but it is going to be hard.”

    Carlos Cachada reacts
“When you have players like De Bruyne, who can always change the game, you can have a strategy but when it comes to players like this they can score four goals and finish the game.
“With that performance we can do nothing about it.
“We had a good response to the first goal. Suddenly they scored two goals quite quickly and we lost a bit.
“We tried all the time to come back, we can’t so this is the final result.
“We look game by game. We will try to collect as much points as we can. We have six points to fight for.
“We always tried to be a threat to the other team, even when we were losing.”

    Pep Guardiola reacts
When speaking to Sky Sports, Guardiola said: “We played really well in this stadium we know how difficult it is. Three points, rest and then West Ham.”
“He (De Bruyne) has played the last two or three months especially in the Premier League outstanding, and in the Champions League as well. He has been our key man in this part of the season.
“It is not just what he creates and the goals and everything. He helps us a lot. I am happy because Kevin is so generous and always thinking the best for the team but this year is also the most prolific for him.
“Always we concede a goal when we don’t deserve. In that moment we were in control. We concede goal but after we found a goal quickly and that helped us a lot.”

Full Time – Wolves 1-5 Man City
Man City were unstoppable this evening.
They played with a high intensity from the off and did not show any signs of slowing down.
In the end, the sheer quality of Pep Guardiola’s side was simply too much for Wolves to handle.
They do not look like a team that will slip up at this point in the season.
They look like a team that is set to claim yet another Premier League title.

What a goal from Man City!
The ball starts with Ederson who sends it forward to Mahrez on the right.
After a fantastic passage of play it eventually finds Cancelo in the box – his shot is deflected straight into the path of Sterling who has an easy tap-in at the back post.
    84. GOOOOAAAAALLLLLLLL MAN CITY!
    Man City get a fifth!
And it’s not De Bruyne this time!
Sterling taps the ball into an open goal after the ball deflects into his path.

    Ghana make a change
    Has Hag enough
Manchester United incoming boss Erik ten Hag wants the club to begin pre-season in late June – two weeks earlier than planned.
Recalling the squad to training on June 20 would mean a number of United aces having to cut short their summer break.
The Red Devils’ pre-season is set to start on July 4, a month before the next Premier League season gets underway.
But in order to have his squad in tip top shape Ten Hag will ask his players to start two weeks earlier than originally scheduled, report The Mirror
    Mart his words
Arsenal have been dealt a major transfer blow in their pursuit of Inter Milan star Lautaro Martinez as his agent Alejando Camano has insisted he will not be quitting the club in the summer.
Camano told TV programme ‘Como te va?’: “Sometimes the media publishes stories about his possible transfer but Lautaro is only focused on Inter, giving the fans joy and making them champions again.
“Then he can start preparing for the World Cup with Argentina.
“We are not expecting or looking for a transfer.
“He is at Inter, he is happy, the city is wonderful. We are thinking only of Inter.”
Lautaro has also been linked with Tottenham, who are now coached by his former Inter manager Antonio Conte
    Chelsea join Nkunku chase
Chelsea have joined Manchester United in the bidding war for RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku.
According to Sky Sports, the Blues’ boss Thomas Tuchel is now keen on bringing Nkunku to Stamford Bridge.
That is an approach which could diminish United’s hopes of signing the attacking midfielder for next term.
However, the France international currently has no release clause and Leipzig are not keen to sell him

    Rice transfer hint
West Ham star Declan Rice has given the biggest hint yet he will snub a move to Chelsea and Manchester United to stay at the Hammers.
Speaking at the club’s end-of-season awards, Rice picked up the Hammer of the Year before being asked if they will see him for the start of the 2022/2023 campaign.
The midfielder smiled and replied: “Yeah of course.”
After the crowd started chanting his name, he added: “There has been so much speculation but you can see every time I put on a shirt what this club means to me.
“Every time I step onto that pitch, every time I leave the pitch, I will always walk off having given 100 per cent and I will always give everything for this club and the manager and my teammates”
    Final efforts for Nketiah
Arsenal are fighting desperately to keep Eddie Nketiah in the team.
Nketiah looks almost certain to be moving on this summer with his contract up next month.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Gunners are “pulling out all the stops” in a bid to convince the centre-forward that his career lies at the Emirates.
Nketiah has held more talks with the North Londoners, with boss Mikel Arteta said to be “desperate to hang on to the forward”
    Takeover situation latest
The consortium led by Todd Boehly is ready to take over from departing owner Roman Abramovich at Chelsea.
However, Boehly’s team still needs to be accepted by the Premier League and the UK government until the deal finally becomes official.
Until then, the sanctions remain in full effect and the Blues can’t sell tickets, grant new contracts and buy or sell players.
Therefore, any sort of transfer business won’t heat up until Boehly officially takes over at Stamford Bridge
    Gabriel Jesus “really happening”
Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus.
It appears that the Gunners are stepping up their pursuit for Jesus ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old could be allowed to depart the Etihad to avoid losing him on a free transfer with his contract running out in 2023.
Commenting on the potential deal, Brazilian reporter Andre Hernan has said that talks are at an advanced stage, with negotiations “really happening”

    Pogba faces price cut
Manchester United star Paul Pogba will have to take a pay cut to join one of Europe’s elite.
Pogba’s United deal is set to expire, and there is very little interest from either side to renew his time at Old Trafford.
The midfielder is understood to make around £290,000-a-week at the Red Devils.
And according to Italian journalist Alfonso Pedulla, the France international’s potential suitors cannot match that salary.
Pedulla claims that former club Juventus can pay the 29-year-old a maximum salary of £130,000-a-week.
While he adds that even mega rich Paris Saint-Germain won’t go much over £165,000-a-week.
Real Madrid have also been strongly linked with the Frenchman but they are believed to be easing off now
    Kounde keen on Chelsea
Chelsea are still Sevilla ace Jules Kounde’s top choice ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Blues were on the brink of signing Kounde last summer but the move collapsed at the eleventh hour.
But the centre-back is still keen on a move to Stamford Bridge despite interest from a slew of other clubs, according to Football Talk.
The report adds that the West Londoners are the “main suitors” for the France international.
However, he won’t come cheap as the Andalusians are demanding £51.4m for the defender and Chelsea still need to complete Todd Boehly’s takeover
    Suarez keen on Barcelona comeback
Atletico Madrid star Luis Suarez would slash his wages for a shock Barcelona return.
That’s the claim in Spain as Suarez eyes a free transfer at the end of his contract this summer.
According to El Chiringuito reporter Jose Alvarez Haya, the striker “would be willing to lower his salary and adapt it to the needs of Barcelona”.
It’s understood Atletico are unlikely to try to renew the Uruguay international’s deal at the end of the season
    Rudiger joins Real Madrid
Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger has completed his free move to Real Madrid.
Rudiger will join Real when his contract expires with the Blues upon the season’s conclusion, according to The Athletic.
The centre-back penned a four-year deal with Los Blancos worth between £7-8million per year AFTER TAX, the report added.
The Germany international’s deal will also include a £342m release clause

    Haaland transfer completed
Manchester City have confirmed they have an “agreement in principle” to sign Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland.
If City and Haaland agree on terms, he will be unveiled by the club by July 1, 2022.
A club statement read: “Manchester City can confirm we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the Club on 1st July 2022.
“The transfer remains subject to the Club finalising terms with the player”
    Tuchel in turmoil
Chelsea are battling dressing-room turmoil just as new American owners close in on a £4.25billion takeover.
Boss Thomas Tuchel hauled in his underperforming stars for extra training and a team meeting on their day off on Sunday — 24 hours after they blew a two-goal lead against Wolves.
It follows claims the head coach had an exchange of words with left-back Marcos
Alonso, who was substituted at half-time in the game.
Chelsea deny any bust-up between the pair but sources claim Alonso felt he was made a scapegoat for a poor team display.
The Spanish defender believed he was having his effort questioned and that tactics were also to blame for the struggle to secure the points.
Alonso accepts the manager’s right to take him off and wants to play in tomorrow’s game at Leeds to put the incident behind them.
    Time off for the Erl
Erling Haaland has been given time off by Borussia Dortmund to finalise his move to Manchester City.
And the Norwegian wants it rubberstamped by the end of the week.
The 21-year-old striker’s wish is that he can say farewell to the Dortmund fans at their final game of the season against Hertha Berlin on Saturday.
Haaland, who has a £64million release clause and is expected to sign a fiveyear deal, is believed to have visited the Erasmus Hospital in Brussels on Monday for some tests connected to the move.
The German club said yesterday: “The players have no training today and we allowed Erling to take care of some personal matters.”
Sources in Germany say Dortmund are now aware that the English champions plan to activate the release clause in his contract.

    Araujo suffers shocking injury
Barcelona star Ronald Araujo was rushed to hospital by ambulance following a sick clash of heads during a La Liga match.
The Barca defender collided nastily with team-mate Gavi during a game against Celta Vigo on Tuesday night.
Both players banged heads as they jumped to contest for a header.
Araujo, 23, then got up and continued running, before collapsing to the floor in worrying scenes.
Reports suggest Araujo was unconscious as medics rushed on the field to tend to the stricken defender.
Barcelona confirmed Araujo had suffered from a concussion and was being taken to hospital for further tests.
    Liverpool keep title hopes alive
Liverpool moved level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League with a well-deserved win at Aston Villa.
First, Villa took the lead when scrappy play at the back from the visitors saw former Manchester City midfielder Douglas Luiz blast home.
But it took the title-chasing Reds just three minutes later when Joel Matip prodded home with Villa’s defence all over the place.
What turned out to be the winning goal came in the 65th minute.
Luis Diaz brilliantly found Sadio Mane in the box, and his flick header nestled past Emiliano Martinez.
    Juve legend offered MLS move
Juventus legend Giorgio Chiellini could be playing in America next year.
The Italy veteran has been offered a contract by MLS side LAFC, according to The Athletic.
Chiellini’s contract with the Serie A giants expires in summer 2023, but he could head next spring when the MLS season begins.
However, LAFC haven’t presented Chiellini with a designated player contract which means they won’t be able to pay him more than £1.3m for the season, the report states.
But Chiellini is yet to accept the terms tabled by the American side.
City legend’s role in Haaland transfer
Man City legend Vincent Kompany reportedly played a key role in helping Manchester City seal the £51m transfer of Erling Haaland.
According to L’Equipe, the move was speeded up thanks to ex-Cityzen Kompany.
Haaland had his medical in Brussels, which Dortmund gave him permission to do.
Kompany was ‘heavily involved’ in the logistics of arranging this to take place at the Erasmus Hospital.
Haaland was met there by City’s medical staff.
    Carragher praises Haaland transfer
Jamie Carragher praised Erling Haaland’s transfer to Man City.
He also claimed Haaland and Kylian Mbappe have eclipsed Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the world’s best.
Carragher said: “He’s a brilliant signing, not just for Man City but for the Premier League.
“Him and Mbappe feel like the next two superstars who have already eclipsed Ronaldo and Messi and you’re just delighted he’s in the Premier League.”
    Liverpool’s FA Cup final worry
Liverpool star Fabinho is a huge doubt for this weekend’s FA Cup final after being forced off injured at Vila Park.
The Brazilian midfielder limped off just 28 minutes into the Reds’ trip to Aston Villa on Tuesday evening.
While the nature of the injury is not yet clear, hobbling off the field just four days before the FA Cup final against Chelsea is a worrying sight for Liverpool fans.
The 28-year-old appeared to be struggling with a hamstring injury.
Reds fans will be hoping the decision to substitute Fabinho was merely precautionary ahead of Saturday’s trip to Wembley.
But Jurgen Klopp and Co now face a nervous wait to discover the extent of his injury.
    Chelsea offered Rudiger more
Chelsea were willing to pay Rudiger MORE in wages than Real Madrid, according to reports.
But Real managed to woo Rudiger by offering him a larger signing-on fee than the Blues did, Nizaar Kinsella reported.
Real’s enticing proposal has resulted in Rudiger agreeing terms with the Spanish giants.
    Suarez wants Barcelona return
Luis Suarez would slash his wages for a shock Barcelona return.
That’s the claim in Spain as the Atletico Madrid striker, 35, eyes a free transfer at the end of his contract this summer.
El Chiringuito reporter Jose Alvarez Haya says Suarez ‘would be willing to lower his salary and adapt it to the needs of Barcelona’.
It’s understood Atletico are unlikely to try to renew his deal at the end of the season.
    Haaland receives warm City welcome
Erling Haaland has been given a warm welcome to Man City.
Haaland’s transfer to City was announced this afternoon, and his new team-mate Aymeric Laporte has opened his arms to the striker.
Laporte tweeted: “Happy not to be running after this guy for the next couple of years. Welcome Erling.”
    Haaland spotted in training
Erling Haaland was back in training for Borussia Dortmund on the same day his sensational £51million transfer to Manchester City was confirmed.
The 21-year-old will join the club on July 1 in what is sure to be the biggest transfer of the year.
But he still has the rest of the season to play out for Borussia Dortmund – and he will face Hertha Berlin this weekend.
Haaland was seen laughing and joking in training with his team-mates on a day of huge news at his club.

    End of Liverpool era
Liverpool are reportedly set to break up their iconic front three of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
The Anfield trio are all out of contract in 2023.
And Goal claims Liverpool are unlikely to hand new deals to all three stars as they would have to break their strict wage structure.
    Tuchel refuses to help Haaland
Thomas Tuchel has refused to give Erling Haaland any tips on how to succeed in the Premier League.
Haaland is on the verge of completing his move to Man City.
But Tuchel won’t be on hand to assist the Norwegian during his transition from Germany to England.
Tuchel said when asked to give Haaland some tips: “Me? Giving advice to Haaland?
He added whilst chuckling: “No advice. If he does not play for us I will not offer any advice.”
    Mane wants Ballon d’Or prize
Sadio Mane has his eyes on the Ballon d’Or award.
And his desire to win the coveted prize has led to the Liverpool striker eyeing a move to Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo, via Eurosport.
The Reds attacker believes he has more of a chance scooping the prestigious accolade if he joined Barca, the report stated.
    Rudiger to Real Madrid COMPLETED
Rudiger has completed his free transfer to Real Madrid, according to reports.
The Chelsea defender will join the La Liga Champions when his deal expires with the Blues upon the season’s conclusion, according to The Athletic.
The departing Blues ace penned a four-year contract with Los Blancos worth between £7-8m per year AFTER TAX, the report added.
And the German international’s deal will also include a £342m release clause, it was also claimed in the report.
    Haaland compared to Shearer
Incoming Man City star Erling Haaland has been tipped to make a big impact in the Premier League like Alan Shearer.
The bold prediction was made by Shearer’s ex-Toon team-mate Steve Howey.
He told Football Daily: “I mean Alan [Shearer] wasn’t slow, by any means but obviously the lad’s [Haaland] very quick.
“The similarities when you do look at the goals that he scores, Al scored a big range of goals and all the goals. He was aggressive, he was strong, he did like the physicality of it as well.
“But not only that, he was a very good player. I think, the way that City play football with the intricate passing, I think that suits his game as well because he pretty much is the all around package. When you watch him, he has got everything.”
    ‘Big fish’ role for Lingard
Jesse Lingard will be a ‘big fish’ at Newcastle if he decides to join the Magpies.
That’s the opinion of Jonathan Woodgate who reckons Lingard will flourish on Tyneside as he will have a point to prove following a dismal spell with Man United.
Woodgate told BritishGambler.co.uk: “I think if he comes to Newcastle he will be the big fish, and he’s not the big fish at [Manchester] United.
“If he goes [to Newcastle] he will be one of the main men, and that might help him.
“I like him and think he has great qualities, and great attitude. He will want to prove a few people wrong.”
    City release Haaland statement
Man City have confirmed they have an “agreement in principle” to sign Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
If City and Haaland agree on terms, he will be unveiled by the club on July 1, 2022.
A club statement read: “Manchester City can confirm we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the Club on 1st July 2022.
“The transfer remains subject to the Club finalising terms with the player.”
    Real Madrid CONFIRM Rudiger transfer
Real Madrid have COMPLETED a deal to sign Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger, according to reports.
Spanish giants Real Madrid have now finally secured his services after snapping up the free transfer on a four-year deal.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Everything is now done between Real Madrid and Toni Rüdiger. The deal has been completed, club sources confirm: he will play for Real.
“Contract until 2026, there’s no option for further season.
“Official announcement: end of the season. Here we go confirmed.”
    Haaland signs long-term deal
Man City have tied Haaland down to a long-term deal, reports claim.
The 21-year-old’s transfer to City was confirmed this afternoon.
And City fans will have the pleasure of watching Haaland work his magic for the next five years, according to The National.
    Haaland’s wages revealed
Haaland’s wage packet will reportedly put him amongst the highest earners at Man City.
The attacker will pocket £400,000 weekly during his Etihad stay, according to The Times.
And the eye-watering sum is similar to the amount City star Kevin De Bruyne earns on a weekly basis, the report added.
    Haaland transfer CONFIRMED
Erling Haaland’s transfer to Man City has been CONFIRMED, according to reports.
Borussia Dortmund and City are completing the final pieces of the transfer said to be worth £51million which will be announced this afternoon.
It was previously thought that Haaland’s release clause was £64.1m, but The Times claim his exit fee is just over £51m.
And the fee will rise to £85.6m when agents’ fees and bonuses are added into the mix, the report added.
    Chelsea bidder supports Spurs
Chelsea bidder Jonathan Goldstein will not take up a place on the club’s board because he is a Tottenham fan, according to reports.
The businessman, who has a close relationship with Chelsea’s incoming owner Todd Boehly, was being talked about as a potential successor to Blues chairman Bruce Buck.
But it has since been revealed that Buck is set to remain in his role when Boehly buys the club from Roman Abramovich.
It was then thought that Goldstein could assume a position on the board at Stamford Bridge.
But according to The Times, he will not take up the role because he is a Spurs supporter.
The report states that he is a Tottenham season ticket holder.
    Pep silenced over Haaland transfer
PEP GUARDIOLA said he has been banned from talking about Erling Haaland until the deal to bring him to the Etihad is complete, writes MARTIN BLACKBURN.
Manchester City are poised to activate the release clause – reported in Germany to be £64 million – to sign the Borussia Dortmund striker.
But both clubs urged Guardiola not to speak about what he might bring to the champions until everything is agreed.
Pep was speaking ahead of the trip to Wolves on Wednesday night and said: “Everybody knows the situation but I should not talk because I do not like to talk about the future, next season.

“At the same time I should say something, but Borussia Dortmund and Man City told me I’m not allowed to say anything until the deal is completely done.
“So I cannot talk, I’m sorry. We’ll have time to talk.
“I would love to talk, honestly, but I can’t! They tell me don’t say anything for the legal actions or the legal situation, it’s far away from my perspective.
“We’ll have time to talk about that. It’s not because I don’t want – but because I can’t.”
    Clarke-Salter wanted
Chelsea’s Jake Clarke-Salter is wanted by top clubs across Europe including Leeds and PSV Eindhoven on a free transfer, writes PHIL CADDEN.
The 24-year-old centre-back has had an impressive season on loan at Championship outfit Coventry.
Clarke-Salter is out of contract at Stamford Bridge this summer but Thomas Tuchel’s side do have the option to extend his deal for another 12 months.

Chelsea’s ownership issues means the Blues cannot currently activate new deals under the sanctions imposed by the UK government.
But American billionaire Todd Boehly still needs his deal to be rubber-stamped with Government approval with the completion of the sale expected in late May.
That means Clarke-Salter can speak to other clubs with Leeds and Sheffield United already enquiring for his services.
If the former England Under-21 captain is on a free, Coventry boss Mark Robins has also stated the Sky Blues will be in the market.
Clarke-Salter made 31 appearances last season, 29 of those in the Championship.
