Rashford and Sancho face World Cup AXE, Man Utd will ‘definitely’ sign Antony and De Jong, Lewandowski EXCLUSIVE

MANCHESTER UNITED duo Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho have been warned that they could be axed from England’s World Cup squad.English boss Gareth Southgate has revealed that the Red Devils pair face an uphill battle getting back into the team – with so much competition in their natural positions.
Meanwhile, United will be ‘definitely’ signing Ajax ace Antony and Barcelona talisman Frankie De Jong according to reports.
And Manchester United are set to join the race to sign Robert Lewandowski, SunSport can reveal.
Stay up to date with all the latest from Old Trafford…
    Ronaldo’s retirement home costs
Building costs on Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement home have almost doubled to £17million.
The Manchester United ace, 37, had initially set aside £10million.
But the price has soared thanks to the cost of materials — and Ronaldo’s desire for perfection.
A well-placed source said: “He’s strived for perfection throughout his soccer career and he wants the same off the pitch.
“He wants everything just right for him and his family.
“He’s going to retire there once his career comes to an end and wants to be 100 per cent happy with it.”

    Man United face transfer battle
Man United face stiff competition from AC Milan in the pursuit of Marco Asensio, reports claim.
Milan are determined to bring the Real Madrid striker to Italy this summer, according to Corriere dello Sport.
And Milan’s director Paolo Maldini has directly contacted Real boss Carlo Ancelotti in order to make Asensio’s move to the Serie A happen, the report adds.
However, Milan will hope a move can get done soon as Arsenal, along with the Red Devils, also want Asensio.
    Man United target speaks
Man United tried to pip Bayern Munich for the signing of Bayern Munich ace Ryan Gravenberch.
Gravenberch revealed to Telegraaf: “Manchester United is a very big and nice club.
“But I already had such a good feeling with Bayern and I had given them my word”
    No official move for Antony
Erik ten Hag is said to have made Ajax winger Antony his number one transfer target – but any discussions regarding a move for the Brazilian have so far been internal between those at Old Trafford.
Transfers guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that there is certainly a genuine interest in the player from the Red Devils, and rumours suggest an offer of £43m is imminent.
However, Antony’s brother – Emerson Santos – has dismissed those reports that state negotiations are much further down the line as ‘fake news’.
The 22-year-old scored 12 goals and recorded ten assists in 33 appearances for the Amsterdam club last season.
    United could flee from Frenkie
Manchester United are prepared to walk away from a move to sign Frenkie de Jong unless Barcelona lower their valuation.
A deal appeared imminent last week when De Jong revealed that he was excited by the prospect of a reunion with his former boss Erik ten Hag.
However, the two clubs now appear some way off in their agreement of a transfer fee for the 25-year-old.
Reports suggest that the Catalans are holding out for €100m while the Red Devils are reluctant to pay more than €70m.
And now sources close to United have revealed that the Premier League club are considering alternatives to the midfielder.
    Den deal? United track Dumfries
Denzel Dumfries is the latest Dutchman to be linked with Manchester United, according to report.
The Inter Milan right-back is a target for the Red Devils, and the Serie A side are supposedly ready to sell.
It’s a position that the Red Devils are aiming to strengthen with neither Aaron Wan-Bissaka not Diogo Dalot seen as the long-term answer.
The 26-year-old is renowned for his attacking threat, and scored five goals during his debut season at the San Siro last term.

    United keen on Rams teen
Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Derby County teenager Malcolm Ebiowei.
The 18-year-old burst on to the scene at Pride Park last season when financial turmoil at the club forced Wayne Rooney into fielding a number of youngsters.
And the United legend has gone on record to state that the forward has a ‘bright future’ in the game.
However, while the Red Devils have entered the race to poach Ebiowei, Fabrizio Romano understands that Crystal Palace are the club in pole position.

    Matic arrives at Stadio Olimpico
Nemanja Matic is in Italy today to finalise his move to Roma.
The Serbian midfielder revealed in April that he would be leaving Manchester United following the expiry of his contract.
The 33-year-old is due to link up again with Jose Mourinho, who he played under at both Chelsea and United.
Matic made 189 appearances during five years at Old Trafford,
    Red Devils still want striker
Manchester United still hope to bring in a striker this summer – despite the disappointment of missing out on Darwin Nunez.
The Red Devils had been keen on Benfica’s Uruguayan hitman, who is now poised to join rivals Liverpool instead.
Writing for Caught Offside, Fabrizio Romano understands that new United boss Erik ten Hag still wants another forward in his squad – but any move is likely to depend on player sales.
He said: “Manchester United certainly tried to sign Darwin, and they were still in contact with his agent until Friday, but they considered Nunez a €70m target, not €100m.
“They will still look to sign a new striker, but a decision will also depend on who can leave the club, such as Anthony Martial.”
    Are United Eriksen’s ‘new challenge’?
Christian Eriksen has decided to leave Brentford in order to pursue a new challenge, according to reports.
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla believes the Dane will say goodbye to the Bees when his short-term contract expires at the end of this month.
Eriksen’s former club Tottenham have been strongly linked to the midfielder – who wishes to play in the Champions League – but the Red Devils have emerged as another contender.
New United boss Erik ten Hag is said to have been mightily impressed in the 30-year-old’s performances for the Bees in the second half of last season following his recovery from cardiac arrest.
And the Dutch coach hopes that a lucrative deal for Eriksen could ward off other clubs as he begins his Old Trafford revolution.

    Good morning Manchester United fans
Man Utd have joined Arsenal in the race for Marco Asensio, according to reports.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo say Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag is a fan of the Real Madrid winger.
The Dutchman wants to make Asensio one of his first signings, with the midfielder available for a paltry £17million.
Asensio is in the last year of his contract at the Bernabeu and expected to move.Harry Maguire is set for showdown talks with Erik ten Hag over the Man Utd captaincy, according to a new report.
The Daily Star claim the England defender is determined to keep hold of the skipper’s armband, following an inconsistent season at the back for the Red Devils.
Previous reports suggested ten Hag was looking at the possibility of relieving Maguire’s from his captaincy so he could focus on regaining his form.
Now Maguire would like to speak with ten Hag about his role when preseason begins.
Ten Hag is eager to keep Eric Ramsay at Manchester United, according to reports.
The 30-year-old was brought onboard as a first team coach at Old Trafford a year ago.
He has recently been the subject of interest from League One Barnsley, with the Tykes looking to replace sacked boss Poya Asbaghi following their relegation from the Championship.
    Rashford & Sancho axe
Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho have been warned they face World Cup heartbreak.
England manager Gareth Southgate revealed the two Manchester United stars now both face an uphill battle to reach the squad for Qatar.
Rashford and Sancho played for the Three Lions at Euro 2020 last summer but had a poor season at Old Trafford.
And Southgate said: “They’ve got a lot to do to get back in the squad.”
    De Jong deadline
Erik ten Hag has a deadline for Frenkie de Jong’s deal – otherwise he will try to move for someone else.
The Dutch tactician wants to add the Barcelona playmaker to his midfield.
But, he will give it until next week – and if a deal hasn’t materialised, move on to other targets, according to People.
Erik ten Hag wants to know if a deal for Frenkie de Jong can be done by the end of next week – otherwise he’ll switch targets, according to the People.
    Rangnick advised bid for Tchouameni
Ralf Rangnick told Man Utd to sign Aurelien Tchouameni, a report claims.
Real Madrid eventually won the race – spending £68million on the 22-year-old talent.
United are desperate a new midfielder as part of their summer rebuild.
According to Andy Mitten, Rangnick pressed forward his case for that to be Tchouameni – however United officials decided otherwise.
    Utd’s part in Nunez deal
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler suggested Man Utd’s presence in the transfer race for Darwin Nunez would have potentially pushed up the price of a deal.
Writing for the Daily Mirror, Fowler penned: “What fascinates me is the presence of Manchester United amid the negotiations.
“I can guarantee the Anfield people would have been uneasy with that, as it has the potential to push up not only the price, but the wages too.
“No agent worth his salt wouldn’t use it to get a bigger contract, let’s be clear.”
United know fee for the Ox
Liverpool will reportedly listen to offers of just £10million for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Manchester United and West Ham are both thought to be interested in the ex-Arsenal star.
And the Liverpool Echo claims Jurgen Klopp is happy to part ways with Oxlade-Chamberlain for a bargain price this summer.
The midfielder, 28 has been at Anfield since 2017 after a £35m switch from the Gunners.
But several serious injury setbacks means he’s made just 94 league appearances.
And with time running out on the Ox’s deal, Liverpool will now let him go on the cheap.
    Utd join Asensio race
    Man Utd have joined Arsenal in the race for Marco Asensio, according to reports;
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo say Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag is a fan of the Real Madrid winger.
The Dutchman wants to make Asensio one of his first signings, with the midfielder available for a paltry £17million.
Asensio is in the last year of his contract at the Bernabeu and expected to move.
    Botman boost
Premier League trio Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle have reportedly been handed a boost in the pursuit of Lille defender Sven Botman.
The Dutchman was attracting interest from a number of top European clubs, including Italian champions AC Milan.
But according to Sky Italia, Milan have cooled their interest in Botman after learning the defender would cost just shy of £47million.
The news comes as a boost to United, Spurs and Newcastle, who are all looking to bolster their defensive options this summer.
    Maguire talks
Harry Maguire is set for showdown talks with Erik ten Hag over the Man Utd captaincy, according to a new report.
    Ings offered
Man Utdl have been offered the chance to sign Danny Ings, according to reports.
The Aston Villa hitman, 29, is said to be surplus to requirements to Steven Gerrard.
90min claim that Arsenal have also been sounded for a potential move.
Ings scored seven goals in 31 games for Villa last season.
Ten Hag wants to keep Ramsay
Erik ten Hag is eager to keep Eric Ramsay at Manchester United, according to reports.
The 30-year-old was brought onboard as a first team coach at Old Trafford a year ago.
He has recently been the subject of interest from League One Barnsley, with the Tykes looking to replace sacked boss Poya Asbaghi following their relegation from the Championship.
Of United’s previous regime, Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna have both left in the last year, with the latter taking charge of League One Ipswich.
Interim boss Ralf Rangnick has also departed, as well as his assistant Chris Armas.
Mike Phelan has been deemed surplus to requirements, but Ten Hag wants Ramsay to join his staff that will include assistant Mitchell van der Gaag and Sir Alex Ferguson’s former No2 Steve McClaren.
    Eriksen decision
Christian Eriksen set to make a decision regarding his future next week, with Brentford desperate to keep hold of him.
The Dane is mulling over plenty of offers, with Manchester United and former club Tottenham believed to be keen.
Eriksen, 30, has been fully focused on international duty since the end of the Premier League season.
But following Denmark’s last game of a gruelling post-season Nations League schedule tonight, he will turn his attention towards his future at club level.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Brentford have made a significant offer to try and keep Eriksen in West London next season.
It may not be enough, however, with bigger clubs chasing the attacking midfielder.
    Ten Hag’s mammoth task
Erik ten Hag has got a huge task on his hands with Man United, according to Teddy Sheringham.
He told Team Talk: “This new manager has got a massive job on his hands.
“Ten Hag has not worked in the Premier League before and doesn’t have any experience of working at elite level in a top league.
“I know he has done well at Ajax, but the task he has been given at Manchester United is on a different scale to that.
“This is a massive football club that was at the top for a long time under Sir Alex (Ferguson) and it has been sliding for a decade now.”
    Ten Hag uses persuasion tactics
Erik ten Hag has reportedly used his powers of persuasion to convince Frenkie de Jong to join Manchester United.
De Jong, 25, had initially been sceptical about joining United when he emerged as a top target for new boss Ten Hag.
The pair worked together at Ajax before De Jong joined Barcelona in 2019, and the midfielder has now come around to the idea of reuniting with his former boss.
According to the Mirror, Ten Hag has successfully convinced De Jong to join his project at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils gaffer wants to build his team around classy midfielder De Jong.
And in talks between the pair, Ten Hag is said to have informed De Jong of his plans to restore United to their former glory.

    They needed CR7.
Portugal looked limp tonight without their main man – Cristiano Ronaldo.
They continually lashed shots over the crossbar from range, as they looked toothless without their hero to build up play towards.
Life after Cristiano could be difficult for the national side, despite having a plethora of young attacking talent at their disposal.

Paris Saint-Germain have parted company with Mauricio Pochettino by mutual consent, according to reports.
The former Tottenham manager departs the Parc des Princes after 18 months at the helm.

Zinedine Zidane, Jose Mourinho and Christophe Galtier are among the favourites to replace Pochettino.

Man Utd join Lewandowski race EXCLUSIVE, Frenkie de Jong gives ‘private assurances’, Marco Asensio transfer latest

MANCHESTER UNITED are set to join the race to sign Robert Lewandowski, SunSport can reveal. But United will only pursue a deal seriously if Lewandowski’s move to Barcelona falls though.
United are also reportedly ‘favourites’ to sign Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio this summer.
Meanwhile, the club have received a boost in their pursuit of Frenkie de Jong.
It is claimed that the Dutchman has given the club “private assurances” he is keen to join.

    Georgina Rodriguez stuns
Georgina Rodriguez stunned as she took a selfie with partner Cristiano Ronaldo this weekend.
The loved up couple enjoyed a night out together as Manchester United star Cristiano returned home from international duty.
Georgina, 28, stunned in a figure-hugging brown dress and heels.
While Cristiano, 37, went for a daring blue blazer with no shirt look.
In a selfie posted to her Instagram story, Georgina smiled and added a love heart to the image.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, went for a more serious pose.

    Matic to Roma edges closer
Nemanja Matic is on the cusp of becoming a Roma player.
The Serbian international will undergo a medical tomorrow in Italy before being unveiled by the Serie A club.
He will join them on a one-year deal with the option to extend, according to Fabrizio Romano.
    PSG chase Lewandowksi transfer
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly entered the transfer chase to sign Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona ever since.
However, L’Equipe now claims that PSG have identified him as a top target.
And they are allegedly determined to win the race to secure his signature.
Man United are also said to be tracking the striker.
    Martial slammed by Spanish media
Anthony Martial’s loan spell to Sevilla has been described as a fiasco by Spanish media.
Spanish publication AS wrote: “Martial’s stint as a Sevilla player can only be described as a fiasco.
“For the investment made, for the expectations created and for the worse than poor performance offered.
“And the fact is that he scored the same two goals and gave an assist [when he was 18], but he did so playing 15 games in a team [Monaco] in which he had to compete for the position with players of the stature of Falcao and Berbatov.”
    Asensio transfer race heats up
Arsenal have reportedly joined rivals Tottenham in the transfer chase for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio.
Tottenham and AC Milan have allegedly already been offered the player.
Now Arsenal are also in the mix to sign him, according to the Daily Mirror.
This latest report claims that the Gunners have “contacted Asensio’s representatives to seek answers” about his and Real’s demands.
    De Jong has awkward exchange
Frenkie de Jong was involved in an awkward exchange after being asked whether he was joining Manchester United this summer.
De Jong was asked: “Are you going from the beaches of Catalonia to the cold of Manchester?”
    And the 25-year-old star replied: “No… I think… I can’t say anything.”
Dybala edges closer to Inter move
Paolo Dybala is on the verge of joining Inter Milan, according to reports.
The ex-Juventus striker has nearly agreed terms with Inter, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
And he will meet with representatives from the club imminently to discuss terms, the report adds.
    Concerns over wonderkid’s strength
Pafundi is only 5ft 5ins tall.
And the main concern of Premier League scouts is whether he could stand up to the physicality of English football.
But they will continue to follow the progress of one of Europe’s most exciting prospects.
The ace made his debut for Udinese last month.
    Man United monitor wonderkid
Man United Liverpool, Leicester and Everton are among the Premier League clubs monitoring Udinese wonderkid Simone Pafundi, DAN KING WRITES.
The diminutive attacking midfielder became the first player born in 2006 to play in Serie A when he made his senior debut last month.
Pafundi, 16, was also called up by Italy boss Roberto Mancini to join the country’s best young talent at a training camp with the senior team.
Brexit means British clubs cannot swoop for Pafundi – or other top youngsters from Europe – until they are 18.

    Good morning Man Utd fans
Man Utd will join the race for Robert Lewandowski – if his dream move to Barcelona falls flat.Lewandowski has his heart set on a move to the Nou Camp, and the striker wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer despite still having a year on his contract.Yet unless Barca can shift some of their high earners, the Polish skipper’s chances of signing look doomed, even though the fee would be a maximum of £20million.United are keeping a close eye on the situation, and there is growing talk of a similar deal to the one which took Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford last year.Forgotten keeper Tom Heaton is a shock target for Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder.Wilder wants a new No 1 and is keen to take Heaton, 36, on loan if United will let him go rather than make him stay at Old Trafford as cover. The former Aston Villa and Burnley stopper would welcome game time and a challenge after falling to third choice.Cristiano Ronaldo’s rape lawsuit has been dismissed. The striker, 37, had been harmed by accuser Kathryn Mayorga’s lawyer, a US judge ruled. The footballer had been accused of raping the woman in Las Vegas, US, in 2009.He paid her $375,000 (£304,500) in hush money but the lawsuit sought a further payout, which could have been millions.US District Judge Jennifer Dorsey kicked the case out of court with no option to file it again over the way the documents were obtained.
    Diallo set for another loan
Promising youngster Amad Diallo is set for another loan away from Old Trafford.
The £37.2million signing spent from January onwards in Scotland at Rangers, where he managed three goals in 13 games.

And it appears, if reports are to be believed, he will be sent out again.
The United Journal claims he has been in talks with Erik ten Hag about his playing time, with nothing yet to be decided.
    Heaton targeted by Boro
Man Utd forgotten keeper Tom Heaton is a shock target for Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder.
Wilder wants a new No 1 and is keen to take Heaton, 36, on loan if United will let him go rather than make him stay at Old Trafford as cover.
The former Aston Villa and Burnley stopper would welcome game time and a challenge after falling to third choice.
Wilder had been dreaming of a reunion with United’s Dean Henderson after they spent two successful seasons together at Sheffield United between 2018-2020.
But Hendo is still holding out for a Premier League move — either as a loan or a buy.
Championship side Boro were prepared to pay £40,000 a week towards Henderson’s salary but United wanted more.
    Dumfries battle on
Man Utd and Chelsea are locked in a battle for Denzel Dumfries.
Inter Milan are reportedly willing to listen to offers for the Dutch right-back this summer.
United are in the market for a new full-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka reportedly listed for transfer.
While Chelsea have lost defenders including Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, and are swearing on the futures of Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso.
    Utd need four signings
Man Utd legend Gary Neville has identified FOUR key positions manager Erik ten Hag can improve this summer.
Neville says United need to first their midfield before turning their attention towards bolstering their attacking ranks and then defence.
Neville told United’s website: “Central midfield is an absolute necessity. An absolute necessity.
“Manchester United need midfield players. They also need a centre-forward.
“I know Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to stay and he’s an absolutely brilliant performer, but they need a centre-forward. Centre-forward is a must.”
Neville continued: “I think there’ll need to be a wide player, just to beef up the squad, and I think full-backs are absolutely critical in the modern game.
“[There are] four full-backs there, it’ll be interesting to see which two, three or four of those are liked.”

    Antony move on
Man Utd are desperately trying to sign Ajax winger Antony.
Erik ten Hag coached the Brazilian when he was coach of the Amsterdam giants.
He scored 12 goals and 10 assists during the campaign.
And Goal claim that United are going to firm up their interest with a bid for the wideman in the region of £51million.
    Lewandowski chase
Man Utd will join the race for Robert Lewandowski – if his dream move to Barcelona falls flat.
Lewandowski has his heart set on a move to the Nou Camp, and the striker wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer despite still having a year on his contract.
Yet unless Barca can shift some of their high earners, the Polish skipper’s chances of signing look doomed, even though the fee would be a maximum of £20million.
United are keeping a close eye on the situation, and there is growing talk of a similar deal to the one which took Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford last year.
Lewandowski, 33, is four years younger and is still at the peak of his goalscoring powers, with a staggering 57 in 55 games last season.
    Ronaldo cleared
Cristiano Ronaldo’s rape lawsuit has been dismissed.
The Manchester United striker, 37, had been harmed by accuser Kathryn Mayorga’s lawyer, a US judge ruled.
The footballer had been accused of raping the woman in Las Vegas, US, in 2009.
He paid her $375,000 (£304,500) in hush money but the lawsuit sought a further payout, which could have been millions.
US District Judge Jennifer Dorsey kicked the case out of court with no option to file it again over the way the documents were obtained.
Judge Dorsey said the “harsh sanctions are merited”.
    Phelan leaving
Mike Phelan is set to depart Manchester United’s coaching staff this summer, according to reports.
The 59-year-old has had numerous spells in various capacities at Old Trafford, most recently re-joining as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s assistant in 2019.
Following the Norwegian’s sacking last year, Phelan remained on Ralf Rangnick’s staff, albeit in a less hands on capacity.
But according to The Athletic, he will not remain under Erik ten Hag.
The Dutchman will be assisted by Mitchell van der Gaag, while another of Sir Alex Ferguson’s former No2s Steve McClaren will return as first team coach.
    De Jong move ‘close’
Man Utd are closing in on Barcelona ace Frenkie de Jong, according to reports.
The Red Devils are determined to reunite the former Ajax ace with his old boss Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
United have already had a £60million bid turned down for the Dutch midfielder.
But Barcelona could opt to sell to raise money for other targets.
According to Spanish paper Sport, Barca want around £70m for the 25-year-old’s services.
The midfielder was previously thought to be determined to stay and fight for his place at Barca.
But United writer Tom McDermott also claims that he has agreed terms after talks with Ten Hag and United old boy Daley Blind.
    Man United handed transfer boost
Man United have recieved a huge boost in their pursuit of Frenkie de Jong.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has admitted that the club are willing to sell big stars if needed to help their transfer situation.
He said: “If our economic situation requires the sale of an important player, we are ready for that.”
    Man United plot Inter swoop
Man United are reportedly plotting a raid for Inter Milan defensive pair Stefan De Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni.
United have asked Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio about the availability of the two stars, according to Gazzetta dello sport.
But the Red Devils’ interest hasn’t materialised into a solid transfer bid for either of them yet, the report adds.

    Dubois wants Whyte
“It feels brilliant, I have worked so hard for this and I finally knocked him out.
“It will be amazing to get home, I can now make massive fights in the future.
“Bring them all on because now I am ready.”
Trainer Shane McGuigan says Dillian Whyte is the chief target – and any other big UK name if the Body Snatcher is not interested.
    DDD wins KO – R4!
Amazing violent controlled finish from Dubois.
A left hook almost takes Bryan’s head clean off but he bumbles about like a scene out of Homer Simpson’s boxing career.
Then just before the round ends another left-hook scorcher absolutley ends Bryan and a little clubbing right finishes it all of off.
    Bryan vs Dubois – R3
    Dubois almost has it won!
A booming right hand robs Bryan of his senses and he almost collapses.
Credit to the champion for staying upright as Dubois swarmed him.
Dubois rushed in a little bit by Bryan was clever and tied him up and leaned right back on the ropes.
Huge round for DDD. Is the end night for Bryan?
    Bryan vs Dubois – R2
Bryan finally shows up and starts throwing back.
One one-two evens seems to stun Dubois slightly but he it sparks him into another attack.
DDD drives a left hook into Bryan’s belly and then the American complains of a head butt.
Dubois ends the session with Bryan pinned to the ropes and surviving.
    Bryan vs Dubois – R1
Bryan plays up to the crowd, but pumping his right fist just causes his flab to wobble.
Dubois starts by fizzing out his vicious jab and tagging Bryan.
It American almost stumbles toward the deck in the first minute.
Dubois’ dad then yells “put it on him” and Dubois launches his first attack.
Bryan’s defance is decent though, he bobs and uses a shoulder roll. But barely throws a punch.
    Bryan vs Dubois – R1
Bryan’s American fans chant “USA, USA”.
And one dude yells out “his eye is damaged” telling Bryan to target the Dubois orbital bone Joe Joyce broke in 2020.
I can barely see sod all from here, so bear with me.
Fancy Dan clips him early so just have to hope he happens on our side of the ring.
    DDD enters the ring
Draped in purple and flanked by trainer Shane McGuigan and Francis Warren, Daniel Dubois reaches the ring.
A big glug of water and the mouthguard goes in.
Vaseline smeared around the eyebrows and the 24-year-old Brit looks ready to cause serious harm.
    Not long now?
The ring is full of feather-wearing show girls, singers, flag-bearing soliders and Don King.
We feel on the cusp of a very smooth start to the main event.
Don just put his hand in his pocket and fullde out a little plastic toy orb with a little light inside in.
    Anthem mania
I believe we are going to have the national anthems of America, the UK and Ukraine – and perhaps a couple of other curveballs.
And then move swiftly on to the Hokey Kokey, Hey Macarena and What Happened to the Manx Cat’s Tail.
Then – and only then – will we see some boxing.
    Helluva URL
Anying in America who wants to buy the show tonight needs to head to DONKING.COM.
A wonderful website domain when written down.
And a real joy to say out loud without much of a pause between names.
    Last orders
Apparently the referee has just gone in to give Dubois his final instuctions for the fight.
After telling him break cleanly, obey his commands and protect himself at all times, he adds: “And don’t you dare start trying to nick America’s freedom, peace and prosperity”.
Don King clearly still so powerful.
    King and Queen
He’s sending his best wishes to the Queen now.
    I hope she’s watching.
“We love the UK but we want peace and freedom. Don’t come in here and try to take them away from us.”
I am not entirely sure that’s what Daniel Dubois was planning.
    The British are coming!
Don King says tonight’s main event is really a rerun America’s 18th century fight for independence from Britain.
He doesn’t go into the details.
Left that topic now and moved on to school shootings.
    Countdown
Have to assume DDD vs Trevor Bryan is next now.
The heavyweight clash has to start after Davies vs Leach finishes in Telford.
Too risky to throw on another undercard fight now, in case it goes long.
So now we are just getting Don King interviewed again.
    Hot Rod!
The winner says: “I let my hands go a lot and he was brave and difficult.
“But I got in the flow and my corner told me to box and the KO would come.
“Then I got him hurt and the referee stopped it.
    “I will fight anyone next.”
    Rodriguez wins R3 TKO!
Rodriguez obliterates the brave American’s chin and manages to catch him a couple more timed as he wobbles back onto the ropes, before his skinny legs give way.
Adams somehow beats the count and tries to carry on and as Rodruigez runs across about to demolish him, Adams falls down and thankfully out of danger.
The crowd call for the fight to be stopped and Adams’ corner shamefully don’t throw in the towel.
But referee Christopher Young makes another good decision and ends the slaughter.
    Rodriguez vs Adams – R2
More of the same as Rodders keeps clipping Adams and this time does hurt him.
A right-hand lands and is followed up by a left hook.
But Adams – taller, thinner and looking more vulnerable – swallowed the shots and kept cracking back.
The score is 2-0 to Rodriguez.
    Rodriguez vs Adams – R1
Fair play to Adams, with five defeats on his record, I thought he would get on his toes and survive.
Instead he has walked Rodriguez down and been tagged aplenty.
What a brave journeyman, really trying to win against a red-hot favourite.
Rodriguez’s left hook looking like the honey that hurts Adams a couple of times.
    Curveball
Donald has cleverly moved fight eight down into this slot.
We’re going to watch Luis Rodriguez vs Ryan Adams next.
    Six-rounds of middleweight tomfoolery.
Rodriguez looks a bad man with all eight wins coming inside the distance.
Adams could be going over very early.
    The waiting game
About an hour to kill now as Don King has run out of fights.
The one and two rounders flew by so now the MC is just naming people in attendance.
Riddick Bowe, Michael Moorer and Riddick Bowe the highlights.
But then he started going through the cleaners and bar staff.
    One to watch
Keep your eyes on Raynel Mederos.
A dangerous switch-hitting Cuban trained by Jorge Rubio.
Only one stoppage in six previous wins but looked a killer in Miami just now.
You certainly wouldn’t want to trying nicking his packed lunch.
    Mederos wins TKO – R2!
Mederos slashes body shots into Wilson and he drops to the floor.
The American bravely beats the count and goes again.
But the ruthless Cuban jumps straight back on him and thumps him back to the canvas.
Referee Christopher Young wisely calls a halt to the battering.
    Mederos vs Wilson – R1
Mederos lands the first serious right hand.
Switch hitter Mederos starts orthodox but flips stance midway through the opener.
The Cuban is the slicker boxer with more ideas and effort.
But Wilson looks schooled and defensively sound. Let’s see if that lasts under regular attacks.
Raynel Mederos vs Ryan Wilson now
    Sneaky little four-rounder now.
Never seen or heard of anyone called Raynel, I like it.
Mederos is a 6-0 Cuban and Wilson has only had one previous pro fight.
These super-lightweights are tall dudes, lanky.
    Lucky referee
Castellon has gotten to his feet and looks to be recovering but he could have been seriously hurt.
The first knockdown was heavy and could easily have finished the fight, the second was dangerous and the third was worrying.
Referee Samuel Burgos could have got Castellon really hurt.

    That’s all from Molineux
England’s miserable Nations League form continues as Gareth Southgate’s men are held to a bore 0-0 draw against Italy.
The Three Lions lacked intensity throughout the second half which meant for a very negative performance.
They will now face Hungary on Tuesday for the final game in this round of fixtures.
Meanwhile, Roberto Mancini’s side are due to take on Germany.
Thank you for reading, and goodnight!
    Tomori shines on England debut
One positive that can be taken from England’s dull display this evening is Fikayo Tomori’s excellent performance on his full debut.
He looked comfortable in his position throughout and played with a high level of confidence and composure.
Gareth Southgate will surely have to consider him as a regular starter now.

    Roberto Mancini reacts
“They [England] are one of the best teams in Europe at this moment.
“They have many very good players. They are maybe trying some different things before the World Cup.
“They are one of the candidates to win the World Cup in Qatar.”

    Gareth Southgate reacts
When speaking to Channel 4, the England boss said:
“There were things we did really well in Germany and things we needed to improve on, we did improve like beating their midfield press, we had two or three really good chances which we need to score, we lacked the sharpness in the final third.
“In the second half we were much the better team. When you are pushing and there is no crowd behind you and that makes a difference.”
“We are trying to move the ball through a good, well-organised team. We gave the ball into our forward players, we have given them all a go and tried to refresh it so that sharpness in the final third is not there. I was pleased with the general performance.
“We have been too reliant on Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling and other players have to step into that space. A number of them have been able to it with their clubs but have not converted at international level.
“Today Aaron Ramsdale did very well and make a couple of important saves, his composure with the ball is what we hoped.
“Fikayo Tomori did really well and pleased he has come through from the slight injury he had, that will give us more depth.
“James Ward-Prowse used the ball well, controlled the game and his passing was good.
“Tammy Abraham was fine and was not unhappy with his performance.
“This has been a difficult series of matches, two away game and you saw how difficult Hungary are to play against.
“Then in Munich then when we have the advantage we did not have the crowd. Physically and psychologically that makes a difference.”

When speaking to Channel 4, Mount said:
“It is frustrating, we want to win, create chances and score goals. I probably should have done better with my chances, we had a few other chances and it is something we have to look at.
“We are keeping clean sheets so it is something that is a positive but we have to work at it.
“We have had chances today and probably should have scored, sometimes you go through little periods where it is difficult.
“We have to keep working hard in training, look where we can improve.
“We have the players to to do that, the talent and quality, just work at it.
“I was in a 10 role so gave me freedom to roam and find spaces, linking the midfield to the attacking boys.

“It is a difficult one to take because I feel we could have come away with more.
“We want to win every game, even if it is a friendly. We have looked a the last two games, felt confident in what we do but it is a tough one.”

Full Time – England 0-0 Italy
The Three Lions have failed to end their miserable run of form in this competition.
Gareth Southgate’s squad looked good throughout the first half, with Declan Rice, James Ward-Prowse and Mason Mount running the midfield, but the intensity dropped off massively after the break.
The approach was very negative, with an excessive amount of passes being sent backwards – this gave Italy plenty of time to strengthen their defensive unit by getting everyone behind the ball.
England now remain bottom of the table, and as things stand they will be relegated to League B if they can’t turn things around soon.

Ireland vs Scotland LIVE SCORE: Latest updates from Nations League clash – TV channel and live stream

IRELAND are up against rivals Scotland in a massive UEFA Nations League match this evening.Stephen Kenny’s side are in desperate need of a win if they’re to mount a comeback in their group.
They currently sit bottom, having lost clashes with Armenia and Ukraine, while Scotland beat the first of those two sides.
Scotland also find themselves top of their Nations League group, having played a game less than both Ireland and Armenia.
Stay up to date with all the action in our live blog…
    Rep. Ireland 0-0 Scotland
    7. Scotland come forward with intent for the first time.
McGinn feeds Christie in space 25 yards out, but the Bournemouth man opts not to take the long shot on.
First time for everything, I suppose.
    Rep. Ireland 0-0 Scotland
    5. Gordon urges Scotland’s outfield players to calm it down.
The visitors have been surprised by this early Irish tempo.
    Rep. Ireland 0-0 Scotland
    4. Early pressure from the Irish.
A testing cross from Browne on the right is too high for Parrott, and too quick for Knight, and yet still requires Gordon to scamper down low to push out.
    Rep. Ireland 0-0 Scotland
    2. In fact, it wasn’t so much the challenge from Knight, but rather the way that McTominay landed on his ankle that has caused the problem.
The Manchester United midfielder looks in some discomfort, and has hobbled off for further treatment.
    Rep. Ireland 0-0 Scotland
    1. Here we go! The two teams take the knee, and then it’s Scotland – in their changed white strip – that get us going at the Aviva Stadium.
Ireland look up for this, and it doesn’t take Knight long to leave his mark on McTominay. Just 40 seconds, in fact.
    Here come the two teams!
What an atmosphere at the Aviva! More than 50,000 fans welcome the players of Ireland and Scotland to the pitch for what is just the 12th ever game between the countries.
And it’s a crucial game for both too. Ireland have never won a Nations League fixture, and this new generation of young stars desperately need a win to smooth their progress.
For Scotland, it’s another opportunity to banish the heartbreak of World Cup play-off failure, and to continue working towards the Euro 2024.
The action is coming up, but first the national anthems…
    The Nations state of play
Here’s how they stand in League B, Group 1 ahead of kick-off in Dublin.
Ukraine’s 3-0 thumping of Armenia earlier today means they occupy first place with maximum points from two games, but Scotland could join them with a second win of their own.
Ireland have lost both of their matches so far, and are yet to score in the competition.

    Kenny: Home success long overdue
Republic of Ireland boss Stephen Kenny has called on his team to show they are capable of beating competitors in front of their own fans, and urges them to use a packed Aviva Stadium to their advantage.
It’s important game for us, very important. The last significant home win against a team ranked above us was seven years ago in 2015. It will be a full house against Scotland, and should be a very special occasion.Stephen Kenny

    Among the Scotland substitutes tonight
    12 McCrorie, 21 Kelly, 2 Patterson, 6 Souttar, 9 Stewart, 14 Gilmour, 16 Taylor, 17 Armstrong, 18 Turnbull, 19 Brown, 20 Campbell, 22 Hickey
    Robertson, McGinn start for Scots
Steve Clarke makes two changes to the team that started Wednesday’s routine victory over Armenia.
In the back three, Grant Hanley returns to take over from John Souttar, and joins Scott McKenna and Jack Hendry.
Manchester United’s Scott McTominay also comes in to the team, replacing Southampton’s Stuart Armstrong in midfield.
It’s a 3-4-2-1 shape for Scotland, who have left wing-back Andy Robertson leading the team, and Che Adams leading the line.
    1 Gordon; 12 Hendry, 5 Hanley, 15 McKenna; 23 Ralston, 4 McTominay, 8 McGregor, 3 Robertson; 7 McGinn, 11 Christie; 10 Adams

    On the home side’s bench
    12 O’Leary, 23 Travers, 2 Christie, 2 Stevens, 7 Robinson, 8 Hourihane, 9 Keane, 13 Hendrick, 18 O’Shea, 20 Hogan, 21 Hamilton, 22 Lenihan
    Kelleher in goal for Ireland
Stephen Kenny rings the change after his Republic of Ireland team were beaten at home by Ukraine in midweek.
The 50-year-old makes five changes to his line-up, and also opts for a switch in shape.
In come James McClean, Alan Browne, Jayson Molumby, Troy Parrott and Michael Obafemi to replace Cyrus Christie, Enda Stevens, Jeff Hendrick, Callum Robinson and Chiedozie Ogbene.
And instead of a back three, it appears as those the hosts are going with a flat back four – flanked by Nathan Collins on the right and McClean on the left – that makes up a 4-3-3 formation.
    1 Kelleher; 12 N Collins, 4 Duffy, 5 Egan, 11 McClean; 14 Browne, 6 Cullen, 15 Molumby; 10 Parrott, 19 Obafemi, 17 Knight

    Dublin clash has bookies beat
The bookmakers make Scotland the slightest of favourites for this evening’s Nations League encounter with the Republic of Ireland, but – in truth – there’s very little in the betting.

    Ireland win 15/8
    Draw 15/8
    Scotland win 13/8

Odds from Betfair correct at the time of post publication.
