Arsenal fans convinced Xhaka took secret dig at Tottenham during star’s live TV interview after win over Chelsea

ARSENAL fans have been left convinced Granit Xhaka took a subtle dig at rivals Tottenham in his post-match interview. The midfielder was speaking after the Gunner’s comfortable victory over Chelsea that took them back to the top of the table.

Three goals in 16 first-half minutes saw Arsenal end their game winless run of four games and breathe new life into their title pursuit.
Xhaka was put up for the post-match interviews and joined Sky Sports pundits Cesc Fabregas, Patrick Vieira and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink to reflect on the game.
But fans quickly became distracted by the clothing the midfielder was wearing.
The Switzerland international donned an Arsenal club jacket that bore the initials “TGB”.

It did not take much for Gunners supporters to become convinced this was a reference to one of their favourite songs.
One said: “Granit Xhaka going live on air to speak to Sky Sports with “TGB” [Tottenham Get Battered] on his tracksuit is the sort of pettiness we can all get behind.”
Another said: “Xhaka rocking a Tottenham Get Battered top. Proper s***housery from Xhaka! Tottenham Get Battered everywhere they gooo!”
Another fan added: “When I saw the post match interviews, I didn’t think of it but this is amazing.”

And one more Arsenal fan said: “Lot of love for Granit after having Tottenham get battered on his jacket for the interview.”
Although fans were having fun with their theory, it is believed Xhaka borrowed the coat from club nutritionist Tom Geeson-Brown, which would be a more likely explanation for the initials.
Martin Odegaard scored twice and Gabriel Jesus got the other as Frank Lampard’s struggling Chelsea were swept away.
Noni Madueke netted his first goal for the Blues in the second-half but it proved to be just a consolation. More

John Terry had the chance to win the Champions League from the spot, but slipped and fired his effort off the post.
Nicolas Anelka went on to miss the decisive penalty as Man Utd were crowned European champions for a third time.
After the final, Grant revealed Abramovich did not say anything to him for four days.
And when the pair did speak, the Israeli coach was told he would be returning to his role as director of football – ending his stint as manager.

But Grant did not wish to return to that position, so he left the club altogether.
Speaking on “Fever Pitch: The Battle for the Premier League” – which is exclusively available on Paramount+ – about the 2007/08 season, he said: “We came second place (in the league), but I remember I think in my first or second (press conference), I said that my target is to be first time in Champions League final.
“Now we had the opportunity to be the best in the world.
“I remember that we received the [Manchester United] team and there was [Wayne] Rooney and [Cristiano] Ronaldo and [Carlos] Tevez. Then he changed the team so the first 15 minutes, which was a little bit confusing.
“After 20 minutes we did internal change and then we dominated the game completely.
“We played really much better than them. I think even Alex [Ferguson] knows that. But then we come to penalties.
“Oh, it was unfortunate, because John Terry was really, I think, maybe his best season. He played so good in this season.”
    ROMAN SILENCE
He continued: “[Roman] Abramovich didn’t call me [after the final]. Three, four days we didn’t speak. And then he called me to his house and he said, We need to prepare the season, the next season.
“So I say, Okay. And he said to me, you are continuing the job as director of football. So, okay. And I didn’t agree to be director of football, and I left.
“I felt upset because I felt that we are so close to be the best in the world. We were so close. But he’s the boss. He’s my friend. We need to respect that.
“I didn’t agree with this, but I will always remember also that he gave me the chance.”

Premier League sides were keen on his signature, but Madrid are close to sealing a deal on a contract worth £12million-a-year, according to Marca.
Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have all been tipped with an interest in the midfielder.
Liverpool dropped out of the race last month after discovering that a transfer would be too expensive.
Whereas now they have been joined by Man City on the wayside.

The report suggests that Bellingham has opted to move to the Santiago Bernabeu despite being offered more money by the Premier League side.
The Spanish outlet claims that Madrid have been planning the transfer for over a year and now have an “agreement in principle”.

This deal will see the Englishman become a Madrid player on June 30 and will sign a contract until 2029.
However, the clubs are believed still yet to have agreed a fee.

German outlet BILD is suggesting that Dortmund are asking for £124million, while Madrid are prepared to offer between £90m and £105m.
But Marca, suggests that the “friendly” Dortmund will “not push the operation” back and will take a lower fee.
Should the transfer go through it would be a major coup for Madrid.
Bellingham will be hoped to ease the loss of veterans Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, who are both approaching the end of their careers.
He is seen as the long-term successor for the latter.
And it’s reckoned Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni have both spoken to Bellingham about joining them in Spain.

Berrettini is set to miss the Italian Open after missing the Madrid Open with a persistent muscle tear issue.
But it is Satta who has found herself coming under fire from fans.
It is all too familiar territory for the TV host who found herself accused of having “too much sex” with ex-husband Kevin-Prince Boateng and triggering his injury problems.
She went public with her new relationship with Berrettini at the beginning of the year but has faced a strange backlash from fans.

Satta told Vanity Fair: “It was something that had been going on for months, when our story became known in January.
“[They say] ‘Berrettini doesn’t win because Satta is distracting him, she’s too demanding’… But I held back.”
Satta unleashed an epic social media rant last month where she raged against the “bullying and sexism” she had been subjected to.
Berrettini has also hit back against the claims.

Satta added of her experiences: “[This has happened before] with my ex-husband [Boateng] who suffered from pubalgia. Even there they attacked me saying that we had too much sex and that was the cause of his physical problems.
“[The injury Berrettini has] is an injury in the same place as the one in 2021, when I didn’t know him. But in any case – do I really have to answer to these people?”
Boateng is still playing at the age of 36 for German club Hertha Berlin.
He has previously played for some of Europe’s biggest clubs including Barcelona, Dortmund and AC Milan.
The former Ghana international also appeared in the Premier League for Tottenham and Portsmouth earlier in his career.
Meanwhile, Berrettini is hunting for his first Grand Slam win after losing the 2021 Wimbledon final to Novak Djokovic.

“And I remember in April, they signed [Antonio] Conte, who came to the training ground, spoke to us individually, planned what he wanted to do with us.

“We started fresh and won the Premier League, against [Pep] Guardiola, against [Jurgen] Klopp, I mean it is not impossible.
“It happened six years ago, I lived it, if you bring someone in who has the character and can give everyone clear ideas and get everyone on board, then it is doable.”
Chelsea will first have to appoint a manager to replace Lampard at the end of the season.
Former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is widely considered to be the frontrunner for the role. More
