Premier League makes last-minute change to final day TV games but Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea fans will still miss out

THE Premier League made a last-minute change to the TV schedule for the final day of the season. But it is still bad news for Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool fans.
Arsenal’s home game with Wolves will not be live on TVCredit: Getty
With those four teams’ fates pretty much secured, the broadcasters have overlooked their clashes with Fulham, Wolves, Newcastle and Southampton respectively.
Instead, Sky Sports have added a third game to their blockbuster line-up for tomorrow afternoon’s football bonanza – as all ten Prem fixtures kick-off at 4.30pm.
And that extra match is Aston Villa vs Brighton at Villa Park, although the hastily-arranged programme is set to start at 4.25pm, just five minutes before kick-off.
The hosts start the day seventh, four points behind the Seagulls who are guaranteed to finish sixth below Liverpool.
    READ MORE ON FOOTBALL
But for Villa, they know victory will secure them seventh and therefore a spot in the Europa Conference League.
However, should Unai Emery’s side fail to win, they could be overtaken by Tottenham or Brentford.
Spurs travel to relegation-threatened Leeds who must win to have any slim chance of staying up while the Bees host champions Manchester City in West London.
Tottenham need to better Villa’s result to pinch seventh while Brentford must win and hope the two teams directly above them drop points.

That crunch clash at Elland Road will be shown live on BT Sport with a raucous atmosphere guaranteed for Sam Allardyce’s men.
Sky, meanwhile, have got the other two games in the relegation scrap – Everton vs Bournemouth and Leicester vs West Ham.
The Toffees go into the final day knowing a win will secure their Premier League status.
Leicester can only stay up by beating the Hammers at the King Power and Everton failing to win at Goodison Park.
Leeds must win and are reliant on the other two results also going their way to overtake Leicester and Everton, especially as they have the worst goal difference of the three teams.

Fifa have ruled that he can leave Shakhtar for free this summer, sparking interest from a number of clubs across Europe.
In amongst them are Spurs, as well as Fulham who would like to sign him permanently.
Winger Solomon, 23, has netted five goals in 23 appearances for the Cottagers this term in all competitions.
All five strikes came in consecutive games during a particularly hot streak in February and early March.

Shakhtar chief Sergei Palkin has criticised Fifa’s decision to allow their players to move abroad for nothing.
He said: “The over-reaching measures applied by Fifa led to massive loss of player transfer income and a depletion of essential Club revenues.
“We believe the extension of Annex 7 continues to place clubs like FC Shakhtar in Ukraine in a seriously disadvantaged position with zero protection and threatens our very existence.”
Fulham have defied expectations that they would be in a relegation battle this term following promotion.

Marco Silva’s side have secured tenth place and can reach a whopping 55 points if they win at Manchester United on Sunday.
Spurs, meanwhile, will begin the final day in eighth after a disastrous run of form.
Should they win at relegation-threatened Leeds and Aston Villa fail to beat Brighton, however, Ryan Mason’s side would scrape into the Europa Conference League for next season. More

Soccer AM is broadcasting its final ever instalment after nearly 30 years on Sky Sports.
And hosts Jimmy Bullard and John Fendley gave a warm goodbye to viewers as an eventful show reached its end.
Wrapping up the programme, Bullard warmly called Fendley ‘the boll****” in an x-rated exchange which followed theme of the entire show.
The final 90 minutes saw technical issues, profane language and even slight injuries to guests during it’s final farewell.

Right from the off Fendley had to warn his star-studded guests not to swear just minutes into the show.
But the most awkward moment came during the ‘Shocker Saturday’ feature as a banner appeared on screen explaining the programme had to briefly go off air.
The sign appeared for less than a minute but was an unfortunate issue as the iconic show looked to go out on a high.
Fans did not mince their words with their verdict.

Another tweeted added: “Soccer AM having a nightmare this morning! Good job it’s the last one.
While another observer said: “Soccer am losing the sound twice in the 5 minutes I have been watching it then literally crashing off air with a technical fault.”
And another unimpressed viewer said: “Not sure what’s happening but this last show is turning into a complete car crash!?
The technical hitch followed earlier problems for host Fendley, affectionately known as ‘Fenners’, as he took the programme to the car park.
As guest Stormzy faced Bullard to see who could hit the crossbar most, Fenners’ microphone went completely.
The host had been coordinating the event but was left silenced by the moment, causing some awkwardness.
Stormzy appeared alongside beloved English actor Stephen Graham and comedian Jack Whitehall as Soccer Am got in the big-hitters to end with a bang.
But Graham and Whitehall were left gripping ice packs at the start of the show after a mishap.

The pair were rehearsing for the car park segment, where guests take shots at a giant goal, but overstretched during it and were left with muscle soreness.
The final episode featured many references to the show’s glorious past, shout-outs to those who worked behind the scenes and the final appearances for fan favourites like Tubes, the off-beat interviewer.
Soccer AM first appeared on screens in August 1994 and became a hit within a couple of years.
Popular presenters like Helen Chamberlain and Tim Lovejoy helped propel the magazine show into must-see Saturday morning TV before fans headed off to the football.

A section of Blues supporters were annoyed by Ziyech’s seemingly buoyant mood despite yet another defeat for Frank Lampard’s side.
Asked about the conversation, Ten Hag refused to go into specific details but spoke glowingly of the Morocco winger.
He told Viaplay: “That is between Hakim and me.
“We have experienced a lot together, beautiful things. There is a bond for life.”

Ten Hag managed Ziyech at Ajax from 2017 until 2020, when the forward joined Chelsea for £33.3million.
They won the Eredivisie and KNVB Cup together in Ten Hag’s first full season in 2018-19.
The duo also reached the Champions League semi-finals with Ziyech playing an important role in the memorable victories over Real Madrid and Juventus.
However, the 30-year-old’s spell at Chelsea has failed to live up to expectations – despite lifting the Champions League in 2021.

Ziyech has scored just 14 goals in 107 appearances for the club across three seasons – with zero in 24 this term across four different managers.
He was set to leave for Paris Saint-Germain on loan in January but a deal fell through at the 11th hour.
And with the likes of Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix and Raheem Sterling all arriving at Stamford Bridge this season, he looks destined to leave in the summer as Tottenham consider a swoop.
In the meantime, Ziyech is being limited to a bit-part role with no Premier League starts since February 26.
Ten Hag, though, reckons his former star deserves more game time to showcase his talent – either at Chelsea or away from the club.
He added: “He has to play every week.
“A footballer like that, in the prime of his life, must be on the pitch.”
