He won his three return fights, the last of which in 2008, before hanging up the gloves again but did lose in his kickboxing debut in 2013.
Odom, who retired from basketball in 2014, recently won a scrappy exhibition against pop singer Aaron Carter, 33.
It was under the Celebrity Boxing banner headed up by Damon Feldman, the brother of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship owner David.
And Feldman told TMZ Sport that he has signed up Odom, 41, and Bowe, 53, to fight on October 2 in Miami, Florida.
On the undercard, Also, Paulie Malignaggi will face social star Corey B, after months of the pair feuding online.
Malignaggi, who provided commentary for Odom’s weird win over Carter, had chalk thrown over him by Corey B while ringside.
And that has somehow led to the duo fighting on the undercard of Bowe’s comeback.
That is despite Malignaggi’s career as a former two-weight champ, while Corey B has never boxed before in his life.

Jake Paul’s kitchen mat of Nate Robinson
The YouTuber later beat retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 36, in the first round of their fight in April.
It has set him up to face Askren’s former training partner Tyron Woodley, an ex-UFC champion, on August 28.
Woodley, 39, has been training with Floyd Mayweather, 44, for the fight, which will be his boxing debut.
But Mayweather also offered support to Robinson, 37, which Paul said only left the basketball point guard sent into a meme and printed out as a mat.
He wrote on Instagram: “Fun fact… Floyd was calling Nate constantly leading up to our fighting giving him pointers and advice to beat me just to be turned into a kitchen mat.”
Paul, 24, has rivalled Mayweather ever since his older brother Logan, 26, boxed the American legend in an exhibition bout in June.
He was ringside when Logan scored a surprise moral victory as he avoided a KO defeat and took the fight the full eight-round distance.
Paul took another swipe at Mayweather, who was pictured giving Woodley a masterclass in boxing.

He posted: “How is Floyd Mayweather who couldn’t even get in shape or come up with a strategy enough to beat my brother gonna try and teach another old man how to come and beat me?!”
Paul then mocked Mayweather and Woodley once more by posting an edited picture of them training outside a retirement home.
Woodley reigned the UFC welterweight division from 2016-2018 and made four defences of the belt.
But more recently, has has lost his last four, without a win in three years, before he departed the UFC.
With seven KOs to his name, he will still provide Paul with his toughest test in the ring, having beaten only online rival ‘AnEsonGib’, Robinson and renowned grappler Askren.

Tommy immediately comes in shot and says: “This boxing s***, it’s in my blood.
    “I don’t play boxing.”
The camera operator swiftly aims it at Tyson’s face who says nothing and points to his left when suddenly Shaq comes into shot.
And the iconic former basketball star delivered a chilling message and said: “If you see this face, you already know what it is, it don’t matter the amount, don’t be scared.”
The camera panned back to Tyson who delivered his trademark ‘Any time, any place, anywhere’ tagline before several other members of the party had their say.

Mike Tyson was desperate to fight Michael Jordan at a dinner party, revealed boxing star’s former manager

MIKE TYSON once threatened to beat up Michael Jordan over their romantic history with the same woman, the boxer’s former manager has claimed. The former Baddest Man on the Planet, 54,  made his comeback against Roy Jones Jr last November.
Mike Tyson (right) was arguably at his peak when sidling up to Michael Jordan (left)
But before that comeback, Rory Holloway has revealed what happened when Tyson and he attended a birthday dinner for Chicago Bears star Richard Dent in 1988.
Plenty of famous faces were at the December bash, including Jordan, boxing promoter Don King and Bears coach Mike Ditka.
Tyson was in his pomp with an undefeated record and unified title to his name –  it was a point in his life when he was also known for decadent and lavish partying.
But it was Jordan’s history with Robin Givens, Tyson’s ex-wife who the NBA legend had previously dated, that brought about the tension.
Holloway wrote in his book chronicling the boxer’s career, via BoxingScene: “Mike Tyson’s sitting there with his drink of choice, a Long Island Tea, and when he drinks his real feelings come out.
“I’m telling the server to water his drinks down because I see where this is going.
Jordan, it’s obvious he just wants to get up and run. He wants no part of this.
“Mike stares across the table at Michael Jordan. He says, ‘Hey man, you think I’m stupid? I know you f***** with my b****’.
“Jordan looks like he just seen a ghost. ‘I know you messed with her,’ Mike says, ‘You can tell me’.
“Jordan, it’s obvious he just wants to get up and run. He wants no part of this. Mike turns to Ditka. ‘Man, you think somebody scared of you, all that racist s*** you been talking?’.
“He says to Dent, ‘Y’all scared of this damn white man, Richard? He ain’t nobody. You gonna let him talk that way?’.

“It was a circus, for real, that night. Don King trying to change the subject. Me and John trying to hold Mike down.
“Mike telling everyone he’s going to bust Jordan’s ass. Jordan’s dressed sharp as always and he can’t get out of there fast enough.”
Differing reports of the night have been bandied around over the years and Jordan, recently subject to the hit ESPN series focusing on his departure from Chicago, is said to have declined to ever comment on his run-in with the boxing champ.
