      Former Man Utd flop Alexis Sanchez owns a £2m Florida apartment which includes a private club and sea views

      INTER MILAN forward Alexis Sanchez has reportedly bought a beachside apartment near Miami.South Florida real estate website The Real Deal has claimed that the Chilean has forked out nearly £2million for a luxury apartment in a condominium at Sunny Isles Beach.

      His property is said to be just a 30-minute drive away from Miami, with records showing proof of the Chilean international’s purchase at the Ritz-Carlton Residences.
      It has also been stated that the 33-year-old would be given access to a private club on the 33rd floor of the 52-storey tower, which includes a beachfront restaurant, pool deck and full-service spa, as well as a fitness centre and wellness centre.
      An official website for the apartment block describes it as a “sumptuous urban oasis” of 212 condominium homes including four penthouses.
      The 649ft residential tower provides sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean.
      According to The Real Deal, the Ritz-Carlton had declined to comment on the alleged purchase from Sanchez.

      Media in Chile say he splashed the cash during a two-week trip back in his home country.
      Sanchez put himself in lockdown outside the Chilean capital Santiago back in 2020.
      Italian media have seized on the reported purchase as evidence that his future could lie in the US and David Beckham’s Inter Miami.
      He was first linked to Miami in 2019 after admitting he’d love to play in the MLS at some point, but insisted he still had “five or six years” left at a good level in Europe.

      Messi’s £7.25m Miami apartment has a lift for his car he’s bought ahead of potential transfer to Beckham’s MLS side

      LIONEL MESSI could be preparing for a stint at Inter Miami following reports of a luxury apartment purchased on the Florida coast.The Argie ace, 35, is currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain, after leaving Barcelona.

      But Messi appears to have his heart set on a move to MLS.
      He recently told Spanish TV station La Sexta: “My plan is to give all I can for the club at the moment.
      “I would like to play in the United States and experience life and the league there, but ultimately come back to Barcelona in some capacity.
      “I’m not thinking too far ahead in the short-term and just want to see how the season finishes.”
      According to Madrid-based radio station Cadena Ser, Messi has already made his first move towards Miami with the purchase of a luxury apartment in the city.
      A pad worth at least £7.25million was reportedly purchased by the Argentine last year.

      The swanky Porsche Design Tower, completed in 2017, sits on the Sunny Isles beachfront in Miami.
      Branded by the German supercar manufacturer of the same name, the building boasts three car lifts allowing residents to park their vehicle on the same floor as their suite.
      The forward is said to prefer to school his three kids Stateside while seeing out his playing days.

      Such an opportunity would heighten talk of a move to David Beckham’s Inter Miami.
      Last season, they finished 11th in the MLS Eastern Conference while being linked to a wealth of star names.
      Blaise Matuidi and Gonzalo Higuain joined Inter during the 2020 campaign and Olivier Giroud was reportedly offered an apartment in Porsche Design Tower to tempt him into a move.

      I REMEMBER running down the wing at DC United when I first joined the club in 2006 and I heard an unusual roar at the other end of the pitch. Whenever that happened in England it tended to be that a fight had broken out in the crowd.

      When I looked up it wasn’t a scrap but a giant teddy bear mascot catapulting sweets into the stands.
      I chuckled to myself and thought wow this is different from my time playing in the blood and thunder of the English leagues with the likes of Wycombe, Port Vale and Leicester!
      The MLS is very family oriented which is what I love about it, and I cannot wait for the season to start tomorrow.
      Before matches, fans often get together in the car parks early, have barbecues, play games and really make a day of it.
      You don’t have to worry about people swearing as much in the stadium. I’m not saying the language is horrendous in England, but it is different and now as a father of a family I do appreciate that.Those were the main differences I noticed as a player and that has continued to ring true as the first assistant coach at Nashville SC.

      I teamed up again with my ex-Wycombe team mate Gary Smith who is the head coach.
      This is our second stint together in MLS having worked together at the Colorado Rapids.
      And we are hoping for a repeat things turn out the same way this time around after winning the MLS Cup with them in 2010.
      My journey with Nashville began when they were a new MLS franchise in 2020. 
      We came into the league at the same time as Inter Miami CF and obviously they had a massive profile and a lot of press because of the David Beckham connection so we were under the radar.But it turned out to be a really great couple of years, we made the Eastern Conference Semifinals in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs both years on the spin which is pretty unheard of when you look at new clubs. 
      Phil Neville came in under difficult circumstances at Inter Miami when he was appointed in January last year.
      After a year getting to know the ins and outs of the league, I think he will do well this year being able to mould more of a team and philosophy that he wants. 
      Whenever we played them it was always nice to see him, he’s a really down to earth guy.
      We always have a drink with him and his staff after the games so I’d certainly wish him well in the Eastern Conference. 
      Phil Neville has suffered a tough start to life at Inter Miami

      Nashville has been bumped into the Western Conference this coming season so we will be racking up more air miles this year than most MLS teams in history. 
      It will take us an eye-watering five hours to travel to our first game at Seattle Sounders.
      There is also a two-hour time zone difference which doesn’t help our game preparation so it’s going to be an incredibly challenging year. 
      But I can’t wait to see the exciting crop of players in the league this season. 
      It’s no surprise that Neymar recently said that he’d like to play at least one season in MLS before retiring.
      The lure of living in the US and the lifestyle it offers goes without saying but now we have such a diverse, exciting mix of stars from particularly South and Central America that want to play here.
      Two players to look out for here at Nashville are our current U.S. international defender Walker Zimmerman and German forward Hany Mukhtar.
      Fans should also look out for Columbus Crew’s Lucas Zelarayan who is a midfield maestro and tricky to play against in a number 10. 
      And I reckon Polish striker Adam Buska, 25, will be in redhot form for New England Revolution this year following a scintillating campaign.
      Our fans at Nashville SC have a special year ahead to enjoy these players at the new Nashville SC Stadium, which at 30,000 seats, will be the largest soccer stadium in the U.S. and Canada.
      I cannot wait to see what this season brings with our new home and hopefully another run into the MLS Cup Playoffs and who knows, maybe a title at the end of it.

      Neymar reveals dream to play in MLS but jokes he only wants to make switch to get more time off

      NEYMAR says he would love to play in America’s Major League Soccer towards the end of his career – if only to get a longer off-season break.The 30-year-old superstar spoke about his hopes for the future on the Fenomenos Podcast with retired Brazil legendary striker Ronaldo and Twitch star Gaules.

      Brazil striker Neymar, 30, started his career in his homeland with Santos before high profile moves to Barcelona and current club Paris Saint-Germain.
      When asked by Ronaldo, 45, if he plans on retiring in Brazil, Neymar replied: “I don’t know, I have my doubts about that.
      “I don’t know if I’ll play in Brazil again, but I’d love to play in the US actually.
      “I’d love to play there for at least a season but I don’t know about Brazil – sometimes I want to, sometimes I don’t.”
      When Brazilian content creator Gaules, 38, asked why he wants to play in America, Neymar added: “First of all, their season is shorter – so I’d get three months vacation.”
      Neymar also revealed he is considering becoming a pro gamer when he retires after ruling out a career in management.

      Atlanta president Darren Eales took to Twitter to send a message of support and condolences to the youngster’s family.
      He said: “We are deeply saddened by the sudden and tragic death of Christian Carrillo.
      “A member of our U15s, Christian’s attitude epitomised what our Academy is about.
      “Our entire organization joins the Carrillo family in grieving his loss.
      “He was a young, talented goalkeeper who infused our entire programme with positivity and leadership.

      A host of fellow MLS sides replied to the 2018 MLS champions’ tweet with their own best wishes, including LAFC, LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls and Orlando City.
      According to journalist Jaime Ojeda, Carrillo was in the car with his brother driving when they were involved in the collision on Saturday – however, the sibling has survived.
      It has been alleged the person in the other vehicle was drunk driving.
      A GoFundMe page to raise money to cover costs for his funeral has already received more than £24,000 in donations in less than 24 hours – including $1,000 (£740) from ex-USA and current Atlanta goalkeeper Brad Guzan.
      The fundraiser was set up by Carrillo’s heartbroken auntie Nancy Antunez.
      She said: “It is with a heavy heavy heart that we have to create this gofundme to help with funeral expenses for the passing of our nephew.
      “Anybody who knew Christian knew him for his beautiful, kind and joyful soul.
      “He had such a drive and beautiful passion for soccer and was going to make it so far but his life was cut short way too soon.
      “Chiti as our family knew him. You will forever be missed. We love you so much.”

      According to Fabrizio Romano, Lyon have accepted Shaqiri’s decision to open talks with an MLS club.
      He is set to join Chicago Fire on a permanent transfer once a deal has been finalised.
      Shaqiri’s Liverpool career came to an end last year after he fell out of favour with Jurgen Klopp.
      He has since swapped England for France, however his fortunes have not changed.
      The Switzerland international has made 16 appearances so far this season, scoring twice and registering three assists.
      Reports suggest that his move to the MLS will cost Chicago around €6.5million.

      West Ham keeping tabs on New York City’s MLS top scorer Valentin Castellanos as £15m transfer backup for Antonio

      WEST HAM are among a host of European clubs keeping tabs on £15 million rated New York City hot-shot Valentin Castellanos.The 23-year-old Argentine – known as ‘Taty’ – was the golden boot winner in the MLS last season when he scored 19 goals.
