Chelsea transfer for Ben Chilwell edges closer as Leicester enquire about Olympiakos’ £12m left-back Kostas Tsimikas

CHELSEA have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell, according to reports.
The Blues have long been linked with a move for the 23-year-old England international but the Foxes have so far appeared unwilling to do business.

Leicester have enquired about Olympiakos left-back Kostas Tsimikas as they search for a replacement for Ben Chilwell
However, Leicester may now have shown their hand in negotiations as they have enquired about Olympiakos full-back Kostas Tsimikas.
The Greek international impressed against Wolves in the Europa League on Thursday night and has reportedly attracted interest from Chelsea and Everton in the past few weeks.
Tsimikas is valued at around £12million by his club and the Daily Mail say Premier League champions Liverpool are also interested.
The Reds had a £10million bid rejected for Norwich defender Jamal Lewis this week as they seek cover for first-choice left-back Andy Roberston.

With the Canaries looking for a fee closer to £20million, Tsimikas may present Liverpool with a cheaper option.
However the 24-year-old may see Leicester as a better option for first-team football.

The Foxes will also have 34-year-old Christian Fuchs to call upon next season should Chilwell depart the Kingpower.
Tsimikas registered seven assists in 46 appearances in all competitions in 2019-20.

Olympiakos have lined up Saint-Etienne full-back Miguel Trauco as Tsimikas’ replacement.

Liverpool ‘fail in £10m transfer bid for Jamal Lewis despite Norwich left-back desperate for move’

But the Reds have failed with an initial £10m bid for the Canaries youngster.
Norwich are believed to want DOUBLE that if they are to let the 22-year-old leave Carrow Road.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is eager to add a left-back to his squad to provide cover for Andy Robertson.
The German knows squad depth will be vital in the jam-packed 2020-21 season and wants more than just James Milner to deputise for the Scot when needed.

But in order to bring him to Anfield he will have to up his bid to £20m to meet Norwich’s valuation.
Lewis made 28 Premier League appearances this season and, despite Norwich finishing rock bottom on their return to the top-flight, impressed onlookers.

The Northern Ireland international is willing to accept the likelihood of limited first-team minutes at Klopp’s side.
But it is not thought to have dampened his spirits ahead of a potential dream move.

Lewis has been at Norwich for seven years since arriving in the academy from Luton and has made 100 senior appearances for the club.

Liverpool make contact with Watford star Ismaila Sarr over transfer – after he ended their Premier League unbeaten run

LIVERPOOL are reportedly among a trio of Premier League clubs who have made contact with Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.
The 22-year-old impressed Jurgen Klopp after putting in a man-of-the-match performance during the Hornets’ 3-0 win over the Reds in February.

The winger scored a quick-fire double before Troy Deeney notched to hand Liverpool their first league defeat of the season and end their hopes of emulating Arsenal’s Invincibles campaign.
Despite Watford’s relegation on the final day, Sarr impressed for them as he bagged five goals and produced six assists in 28 top-flight matches
According to the Watford Observer, Liverpool have made contact with the attacker’s agent as they look to test the club’s resolve.
A switch to Anfield would see Sarr reunite with fellow Senegal international and friend Sadio Mane.

The Liverpool ace famously urged Watford captain Deeney to look after the player after the two sides faced each other at Anfield in December.
Wolves are also said to be interested in the former Rennes star, but would only make their move if Adama Traore is prized away from the club.

Likewise, SunSport previously revealed that Crystal Palace want Sarr to fill the boots of Wilfried Zaha — if their talisman is sold this summer.
The Eagles are keen on the Watford speedster and would smash their record fee for him with a £40million offer.

Sarr was on Palace’s radar a year ago when Hornets splashed out £30m to bring him from the French league.

Lallana spent six years at Anfield following his transfer from Southampton but was let go upon the end of the elongated 2019/20 season.
He scored 22 goals in 178 matches for the Reds, playing a bit-part role in their recent trophy-winning success.
In the last 14 months, Lallana won the Champions League, Super Cup, Club World Cup and, most recently, the Premier League.
He managed 15 top-flight appearances this term as Jurgen Klopp’s side swept the rest of the division aside, ending up on 99 points.

The 34-cap England international played at the 2014 World Cup and the Euros two years later.

Adam is a really exciting signing for us. To have both his experience and quality out on the pitch will be a great addition for us.
    Graham Potter on Adam Lallana

In total he has played more than 400 senior games, scoring 81 goals and making 70 assists.
The playmaker will wear the No14 shirt at the Amex next season and will add plenty of quality and experience into the Brighton side.

Head coach Graham Potter, whose Seagulls side finished 15th and seven points clear of relegation, said: “There is no doubting Adam’s quality, and if you look at his footballing CV his ability is clear for everyone to see.

“He has played at the very highest level, for both club and country, and achieved great things. He has a wealth of experience alongside his technical quality.

“The honours he won during his time at Liverpool, and the high regard in which he is held at Anfield, only further underline his ability and character.

“Adam is a really exciting signing for us, someone I am sure the supporters will be really looking forward to seeing play as and when things are able to begin to return to normal.
“To have both his experience and quality out on the pitch will be a great addition for us, and I know he will be an excellent role model for our younger players in the squad.
“I am really looking forward to working with him when we return for pre-season training in a few weeks.”

Dejan Lovren ‘on verge’ of £11m Zenit St Petersburg transfer with Liverpool considering buying new centre-back

DEJAN LOVREN’S six-year stint at Liverpool looks to be over with the defender on the verge of joining Zenit St Petersburg for £10.9million.
The 31-year-old is departing Anfield as a Premier League winner having made 15 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season.

Now after talks over the past fortnight, his transfer to the Russian giant’s is imminent, says The Times.
Zenit initially thought the veteran had entered the final 12 months of his contract and could purchase him at a knockdown price.
But Liverpool triggered their option to extend the Croatian’s deal by a further year, allowing them to retain his market value.
Zenit appear to have finally caved and agreed to cough up the full fee for the ex-Southampton ace.

And Lovren’s time with Klopp’s squad could be over in a matter of days.
His playing time has been severely impacted due to the good form of Joe Gomez and Joel Matip alongside Virgil van Dijk and injuries.
Klopp is now weighing up whether he needs to find a replacement for Lovren, with Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly one possibility.
The Reds have also watched Brighton’s Ben White, 22, several times over recent months as he shone on-loan at Championship winners Leeds United.
Klopp has discussed possibly promoting from within previously.
Ki-Jana Hoever and Sepp van den Berg, both 18, have impressed in the youth team could be handed an opportunity to shine.
