Man Utd 2-3 Galatasaray LIVE RESULT: Andre Onana makes huge blunder as United lose frantic Champions League tie

MANCHESTER UNITED have lost 3-2 at Old Trafford against Turkish champions Galatasaray after a frantic Champions League tie.The Red Devils took the lead after 17 minutes, with Rasmus Hojlund heading in after good work from Marcus Rashford.
Wilfried Zaha equalised minutes later on his return to Old Trafford with a scruffy volley to beat Andre Onana.
Rasmus Hojlund scored his second of the night to give United the lead before Akturkoglu put the Turkish giants back on level terms on 71 minutes.
Andre Onana made a huge blunder, which caused Casemiro to foul Mauro Icardi in the box and earn a second yellow card.
The Argentine missed from 12 yards but made up for it minutes later to hand Galatasaray a 3-2 win at Old Trafford.

Match result: Man Utd 2-3 Galatasaray
Manchester United team: Onana, Dalot, Varane, Lindelof, Amrabat, Casemiro, Mount, Hannibal, Fernandes, Rashford, Hojlund
Galatasaray team: Muslera, Boey, Sanchez, Abdulkerim, Angelino, Kaan, Torreira, Tete, Akturkoglu, Zaha, Icardi

Man United player ratings (part three)
    Rasmus Hojlund – 9
Did not really put a foot wrong. Made intelligent runs into the channels, got two goals and if he hadn’t mistimed a run, it could have been a hat-trick. May want to forget the game where he got his first Old Trafford goals.
    Marcus Rashford – 6
Seems short of confidence and does not look like the player who scored all those goals last season. Making the wrong choices at important moments
    Subs
Christian Eriksen (For Hannibal) – 7
Made a difference at the start of the second half and started to make things happen. Struggles to get back and defend and can leave them exposed if the opponents can get quick transition.
Alejandro Garnacho (For Rashford) – 7
Tried his hardest to make things happen when he came on. His pace and passion caused some issues for the visitors, was unlucky not to get a goal but for a great block from Icardi.
    Antony (For Mount) – 6
Struggled to get into the game coming on so late. Tried to make an impact but Galatasaray found it too easy to contain him.
Anthony Martial (For Amrabat) – 6
For somebody who has played as a striker in this team for so long now, he makes all the wrong runs. Had one chance that brought a good save out of the Galatasaray keeper but the flag went up as he had strayed offside.

Man United player ratings (part two)
    Hannibal Mejbri – 6
Looked like a headless chicken all too often. Too keen to lunge into challenges and blocked a goalbound Mount shot when things were going well for Man Utd. Brought off at half time.
    Casemiro – 5
As good as a player as he is, always capable of a rash challenge. Once he got booked and United were being stretched, it seemed inevitable he would get that second yellow card at some point.
    Mason Mount – 6
Not offering what you would expect of a player commanding the transfer fee he did. Seems too happy with being a passenger in the game all too often.
    Bruno Fernandes – 6
Possibly the wrong option as club captain. When the chips are down, his head goes and he does nothing to motivate his players. Can be a negative influence when the side need someone to pick them up and get them going.

    Man United player ratings
    Andre Onana – 4
The Man Utd keeper is devoid of any confidence and it shows. He had a terrible game, was responsible for at least one of the goals and certainly the penalty and sending off of Casemiro.
    Diogo Dalot – 5
Wilfried Zaha gave him a torrid time. At fault for the first goal, made some important challenges but his positioning was poor for most of the game.
    Raphael Varane – 6
Considering he won so many trophies at Real Madrid, he looks a shadow of this player. Should be the rock to this defence, communicating and commanding the others. None of the above is evident.
    Victor Lindelof – 6
Probably the pick of a bad bunch. Tried to hold it together defensively but was surrounded by constant mayhem.
    Sofyan Amrabat – 5
Playing out of position, tries to get into centre midfield too often, leaving the defence exposed. Once the visitors realised this, they targeted his position in the second half and got their rewards.
He’s not the Messiah, he’s a very naughty boy
Fans have taken to social media, asking whether the club can still resign David De Gea.
Andre Onana has not looked like a £45m goalkeeper and is seriously lacking confidence now, which is one of the biggest attributes for the position.
His positioning is poor and he constantly makes the wrong decisions in key moments.
Today, he was at fault for at least one of the goals and for the penalty which went on to be missed by Icardi.
It could have been worse as the visitors spurned some of the chances he presented them with this evening.
There seems to be a disconnect between him and his defence and absolutely no communication whatsoever.

    United leave Brazilian exposed again
Casemiro will always give you a consistent performance, he covers ground and protects the defence.
There is only so much the 31-year-old can do and with the frailties all over the pitch he is being left exposed.
He is too keen at times to lunge into the tackle, often late, and once he picked up his first yellow card in the first half he was always running the risk of getting the second.

    FT: Man Utd 2-3 Galatasaray
The fans booed and jeered as the full time whistle went.
It was the owners who the brunt of their anger previously, now it seems to be shifting onto the manager.
They look too easy to play against and defensively look a shambles.
    FT: Man Utd 2-3 Galatasaray
Man Utd imploded in the second half.
Galatasaray targeted the right wing and took Amrabat apart when often out of position.
Andre Onana had another nightmare performance.

    FT: Man Utd 2-3 Galatasaray
It is all over at Old Trafford.
Man Utd huffed and they puffed but they could not find an equaliser.
Andre Onana has had another shocker, Galatasaray get a memorable win this evening.
    Man Utd 2-3 Galatasaray
90+6. The ball is worked into the box and Martial makes a run and opens it up onto his right foot and shoots.
Muslera makes a great save to deny him.
The assistant immediately raises his flag, Martial was in an offside position.
    Credit: AP
    Man Utd 2-3 Galatasaray
90+4. United have the ball but are running out of ideas.
Onana goes long with his clearance but again they cannot do anything constructive with the ball.
Lindelof is shouting at his team as he has no one to play the ball to.
    Man Utd 2-3 Galatasaray
90+2. Icardi goes close once again.
He almost kills the game off with a smart run but cannot find the target.
Man Utd are lucky to still be in this game.

    Man Utd 2-3 Galatasaray

    90. Fernandes wins a free kick just on the edge of the box.
Big chance for the United skipper to make his mark.
He fires it straight into the wall, what a waste.
We are going to have seven minutes added.
    Man Utd 2-3 Galatasaray
    88. The visitors are looking to control the game now.
With the extra player, they are finding it easy to retain the ball.
Amrabat has come off now, Galatasaray have targeted him in this half.
    Man Utd 2-3 Galatasaray
    86. The Turkish visitors have not won away from home in the Champions League in their last seventeen games.
That could all be changing this evening.
Ndombele has come on for Galatasaray now.
    Credit: Getty
    Man Utd 2-3 Galatasaray
    84. The visitors are looking like they have three more players on the pitch than Man Utd right now.
Galatasaray have completely turned this game on its head.
When Icardi missed that penalty, the home fans thought they could win this, how wrong they were.
    Man Utd 2-3 Galatasaray
    82. The replay shows he was miles onside, played on by Amrabat.
Galatasaray come forward once again and Boey charges through the middle.
He tries to finish and it just deflects off Dalot and over the bar.
    Man Utd 2-3 Galatasaray
    80. Wow. What scenes now in the away end.
Icardi comes away on the break, there are claims for offside, he continues through on goal and chips it over Onana.
Great finish to make up for the missed penalty.
    Goal – Mauro Icardi (Galatasaray)
    Man Utd 2-2 Galatasaray
    78. That was a terrible penalty by the Galatasaray striker.
Meanwhile, Man Utd come forward and it looks like Garnacho is about to score but it is Icardi who gets a great block in.
What a game we now have on our hands.
    Credit: AFP
    Man Utd 2-2 Galatasaray
    76. It is all going on here.
Onana gifted the ball to Mertens who was then wiped out by Casemiro who was shown a second yellow card, followed by a red.
Icardi steps up to take the penalty and hits it wide of the post.
    Missed penalty
Red card – Casemiro (Man Utd)
    Penalty to Galatasaray
    Man Utd 2-2 Galatasaray
    74. The away end are making themselves heard once again.
They have stunned the home fans into silence.
Man Utd are looking shocked as well.
    Man Utd 2-2 Galatasaray
    72. Yilmaz is causing all sorts of problems down the right.
It is almost as if the visitors have just noticed that Amrabat is in centre midfield and there is no left back.
It was a great finish from Aktürkoglu but what a cross by Yilmaz. More
