Manchester United and City, as well as Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all pulled out of the hated competition 48 hours after signing up following mass outrage.
And according to the Telegraph, the teams in question are set to be fined substantially by the Premier League.
They state an announcement on the discipline is expected soon with the fine said to be significant in order for them to have an effect on the club’s wealthy owners.
However they will not face a points deduction next term.
Clubs that have refused to withdraw from the Super League will be given the strictest of punishments – a two-year ban from the Champions League.
In another blow for the rebels, the New York Times state that the clubs that have pulled out face being fined millions of pounds.
Real, Barca and Juve claim that those that have backed out have committed a ‘material breach’ of the founders agreement.
And they intend to take legal action against their former partners after breaking commitments they made when they signed up.

Nine of the breakaway clubs – including Inter and AC Milan as well as Atletico Madrid – have been punished by Uefa.
All teams have agreed they would face massive fines of £87m if they joined any future breakaway, or £43.5m if they merely committed to any such new league.
And they will also share a slap on the wrist £13m “goodwill” payment to be ploughed into youth and grassroots football, including in the UK.
Uefa said the agreement had been made “in the spirit of reconciliation”, with President Aleksander Ceferin noting the swift apologies from the English teams in particular.
He said: “I said at the UEFA Congress two weeks ago that it takes a strong organisation to admit making a mistake especially in these days of trial by social media.
“These clubs have done just that.
“In accepting their commitments and willingness to repair the disruption they caused, UEFA wants to put this chapter behind it and move forward in a positive spirit.”

Joel Glazer writes 708-word letter to Man Utd fans as he vows to work with supporters and invest in transfers in summer

MANCHESTER UNITED owner Joel Glazer has written a 708-word letter to fans and vowed to work with them. Manchester United’s Supporters Trust sent the Glazers a four-point plan outlining how they want the club run following the recent angry protests at Old Trafford.

Furious fans stormed the pitch and made their voices known inside and outside the ground.
It led to their match with Liverpool being cancelled amid player safety, but Joel Glazer has now acknowledged supporters’ concerns.
And he promised to meet with United’s Fans’ Forum once the season is finished to help bridge the divide.
Glazer, 50, wrote: “We want to work together to come up with an ambitious package of measures which will transform our relationship with fans and strengthen the club for the long-term.
“In this spirit, we will reach out to members of the forum to schedule a meeting in which I shall participate as soon as possible after the final game of the season.
“Thank you again for your work for the forum and your passion for the club.
“I look forward to meeting you and in the meantime let’s look forward to a successful end to the season.”
Fans have protested over their unhappiness with the Glazer family in recent years but it was United’s entry into the proposed European Super League which sparked further fury.

The Glazers were credited as a driving force behind the rebel breakaway league and were rapidly blasted by supporters and former players for the devious idea.
Ex-captain Gary Neville was among those calling for the Americans to leave the club which his former team-mate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer manages.
But Glazer insisted his family love the club and vowed to focus on the Champions League and Premier League following the ESL disaster.
He explained: “We remain committed to working with the wider football community to make the game stronger and more sustainable over the long-term, and we will now refocus our efforts on doing this within the existing structures of UEFA and the Premier League.
“In addition, I want to reassure you that my family and I care deeply about Manchester United and feel a profound sense of responsibility to protect and enhance its strength for the long-term, while respecting its values and traditions.
“Our top priority is, and will always be, competing for the most important trophies, playing entertaining football with a team comprised of top-quality recruits and some of the world’s best homegrown talent.
“Under Ole, we feel we are absolutely on the right track.”
Joel Glazer’s open letter in full Dear (Fans Forum representative)
Thank you for your letter dated April 30, sent in your capacity as a representative of Manchester United fans. I read the contents closely and your love and passion for the club came across very clearly.
I want to salute your service to the Fans’ Forum, which I know is a vital channel for consultation between the club and our fans. As I recently stated publicly, I am personally committed to ensuring that we strengthen this relationship in future.
Your heartfelt letter captured the unique spirit of Manchester United, forged through decades of triumph, adversity and tragedy, and still powerfully present in today’s exciting team under Ole and the vibrant fanbase which you represent.
I was personally humbled by parts of your letter, as you explained so clearly why our initial support for the European Super League left you feeling angry and let down. I would like to reiterate my sincere apology for the mistakes that were made.
In particular, I want to acknowledge the need for change, with deeper consultation with you as our main fan representative body across a range of important issues, including the competitions we play in. We also recognise the importance of fan and football interests being embedded in key decision-making processes at every level of the club, and we are open to constructive discussions on how to reinforce that principle.
We remain committed to working with the wider football community to make the game stronger and more sustainable over the long-term, and we will now refocus our efforts on doing this within the existing structures of UEFA and the Premier League.
In addition, I want to reassure you that my family and I care deeply about Manchester United and feel a profound sense of responsibility to protect and enhance its strength for the long-term, while respecting its values and traditions.
Our top priority is, and will always be, competing for the most important trophies, playing entertaining football with a team comprised of top-quality recruits and some of the world’s best homegrown talent. Under Ole, we feel we are absolutely on the right track.
Success on the field must be underpinned by solid foundations off it. We have supported sustained investment in the team over many years, and that will continue this summer.
We recognise that we will need to significantly increase investment in Old Trafford and our training complex to ensure that the club’s facilities remain among the best in Europe. As part of this, we will consult with fans on investments related to the stadium and the matchday experience.
Indeed, one of the clearest lessons of the past few weeks is the need for us to become better listeners. To this end, I can commit the club will engage across all of the issues raised in your letter.
To highlight some specific points, as one of the few European football clubs listed on the public markets, we believe in the principle of fans owning shares in the club. We have previously engaged with the Manchester United Supporters’ Trust on fan share ownership and we want to continue and accelerate those discussions, together with provisions to enhance associated fan consultation.
We recognise that the Government-initiated, fan-led review of football is a positive opportunity to explore new structures for fan engagement and influence. I can assure you that we will willingly and openly engage in the review, with the aim of putting fans at the heart of the game and ensuring their interests are advanced and protected.
These commitments are a starting point for further dialogue, including all the specific points you raised, rather than final proposals. We want to work together to come up with an ambitious package of measures which will transform our relationship with fans and strengthen the club for the long-term. In this spirit, we will reach out to members of the forum to schedule a meeting in which I shall participate as soon as possible after the final game of the season.
Thank you again for your work for the forum and your passion for the club. I look forward to meeting you and in the meantime let’s look forward to a successful end to the season.
    With best regards,
    Joel Glazer
    Executive Co-Chairman and Director

MUST were quick to respond and shared their optimism – as well as caution.
They wrote: “The response could in theory – and we emphasise in theory only – be a change in direction and approach by the owners versus their silence and disregard for communication over the last 16 years.
“We will, however, determine our position based on the resulting actions rather than these words alone. We have seen empty words too many times previously.
“We will seek a mandate from our members and from the wider fanbase before proceeding.
“We only wish to engage in this process should our supporters want us to.
“The onus remains on the club to put right the problems of the past, not just the European Super League but the overall lack of communication and consultation by the owners.

“Our primary objective remains to ensure a supporter share scheme is put in place which carries equal voting rights to the shares held by the Glazer Family.
“This scheme would be promoted to the global fanbase and should in turn build a notable stake in the club.
“Through all this, our goals remain the same and as set out in the Open Letter to Joel Glazer.
“We want a new Manchester United, with a meaningful shareholding for supporters and a meaningful say in key areas.
“This is our objective, and there will be no let up until we get there.”

Uefa threaten two-year Champions League and Europa League ban for any clubs not distancing from European Super League

UEFA chiefs are threatening two-year European bans for the four Super league rebels who have still not pulled out of the project.England’s Big Six were the first to withdraw, with Champions League finalists Chelsea and Manchester City quickest out of the blocks once they realised the breakaway was dead in the water.

Chelsea fans make their feelings about the Super League clear last night
But Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and AC Milan have still to formally break free of the Super League project.
And that has left Uefa on the verge of imposing serious sanctions UNLESS the quartet fold in the next few weeks.
The Prem sides, along with Atletico Madrid and Inter, are expected to accept fines for their parts in the rebellion.
Uefa head Aleksander Ceferin IS likely to push for softer punishments on the English teams after their rapid U-turns and acceptance of error.
But Uefa will push for action accusing the four remaining Spanish and Italian teams of breaching Article 51 of its statutes.
That states: “No combination or alliances between clubs affiliated, directly or indirectly, to different Uefa member associations, may be formed without the permission of Uefa.”
It is understood the quartet, led by Real Madrid and Juve, will argue they actually asked Uefa for permission to run the new competition and for ‘recognition’ of its standing.
They also pointed to the interim ruling of a Madrid court – in which Uefa lawyers were not present – precluding any action against any of the Super League clubs in advance of a full legal hearing.

Chelsea fans made their feelings about the Super League clear before last night’s game against Real Madrid.
Hundreds gathered and lit flares as the teams arrived for the Champions League semi-final and the masses were quick to show their contempt for Real chief Florentino Perez after his leading role in the attempted European Super League breakaway.
Blue smoke and flags swirled in the West London streets.

And the air turned even bluer as a taxi attempted to drive through the masses which fans believed to be carrying disgraced Real president Perez.
It remains unclear whether the Spaniard was inside the car but Blues supporters let their feelings be known nonetheless.
According to reports, they chanted: “Perez, you’re a c***!”.

When is Man Utd vs Liverpool rescheduled date? What we know about postponed Premier League fixture put back by protests

MANCHESTER UNITED vs Liverpool is one of THE biggest matches of any Premier League season. And the fans made sure this year’s fixture became one that will send shockwaves around English football.
How the May calendar looks for both Manchester United and Liverpool as it stands

Thousands of Manchester United supporters marched on their beloved Theatre of Dreams in protest at the club’s owning family the Glazers, who they want to sell the club.
The Glazers were instrumental in attempting to set up the proposed European Super League with a raft of other big European clubs, which has fallen on its face after fan rage.
The delayed fixture could disrupt the tail-end of United’s season, with the Red Devils fighting to win the Europa League as well as consolidate second place in the Prem.
When will Manchester United vs Liverpool take place?
The two clubs, as well as the Premier League, are in talks to find a date and time for the fixture.
One possibility is to have it on the weekend of the Champions League final, May 29-30, which will be just days after the Europa League final on May 26.
However this is unlikely as it would mean the game being played after the season is finished, putting Man Utd and Liverpool potentially at an advantage over the 18 other clubs.
According to SunSport’s Martin Lipton, the most likely course of action will be that Liverpool’s trip to West Brom, scheduled for May 16, will now be brought forward by four days to May 12, when United are due to be playing Leicester.
That will allow the rescheduled clash of the north west giants to be played at Old Trafford on Sunday May 16.

When can the Premier League fixture happen?
It’s complicated, but basically there may need to be a significant reshuffle if the game is not played today – Monday, May 3.
Here is how both teams’ schedules look after Old Trafford clash postponed:

    May 6 – Roma vs Man Utd – 8pm – Europa League semi-final
    May 8 – Liverpool vs Southampton – 8.15pm – Premier League
May 9 – Aston Villa vs Man Utd – 2.05pm – Premier League
    May 12 – Man Utd vs Leicester – 6pm – Premier League
    May 16 – WBA vs Liverpool – 4.30pm – Premier League
May 19 – Man Utd vs Fulham, Burnley vs Liverpool – 7.45pm – Premier League
May 23 – Wolves vs Man Utd, Liverpool vs Crystal Palace – 4pm – Premier League – LAST DAY OF PREMIER LEAGUE SEASON
    May 26 – Europa League final – 8pm – if United qualify

Will the rescheduled Man Utd vs Liverpool match have fans?
Man Utd would be legally allowed to host Liverpool in front of a 25 per cent capacity if the game is moved to a date on or later than May 17.
However, if this does happen it is unlikely that Liverpool or the other Premier League clubs would agree to the game being held with fans.
All teams will play two games after May 17 – one home and one away – so all clubs can host fans once.
The other clubs are therefore unlikely to agree to anything that could bring the integrity of the competition into question as this key stage.
What will United’s punishment be for the fixture being postponed?
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could face a hefty fine or even a points deduction if they are found to be culpable of the postponement.
The FA are investigating the chaotic scenes to determine what punishment they will hand out.
A points deduction is an option – although it’s believed to be highly unlikely such a severe sanction would be used.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals he got personal apology from Glazers over chaotic protests amid European Super League row

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has received a personal apology from the Glazers over the ESL debacle that sparked protests at Old Trafford. The Manchester United boss only heard about the plans to breakaway on the day it was announced.

The backlash has been huge with protests causing Sunday’s game with Liverpool to be postponed and Solskjaer has been the only person at the club to publicly field questions about it all.
And Solskjaer said: “I’ve been communicating with the owners and I’ve had a personal apology.
“I’ve always had a good relationship and they listen to me and they do listen to the fans. I’m sure there will be better communication coming.
“I know that communication has started between other individuals and the fans.
“We know we need to communicate better, if you refer back to the apology they all accepted it was the wrong thing to do.”
While Solskjaer says the club has to listen to the fans, he felt the protest on Sunday went too far as police officers were injured and the pitch invaded.
He said: “It was a difficult day for us of course, we wanted to play and beat Liverpool for the fans.
“As I said before the game, we have to listen. We have to hear the fans’ voice. It’s everyone’s right to protest but it has to be peaceful and done in a civilised manner.

“Unfortunately when you break in and when a police officer gets scarred for life that’s one step too far. When it gets out of hand it’s a police matter, it’s not about showing your opinions any more.”
Now Solskjaer has called on the whole club to be United as they stand on the brink of their first final in four years, with a 6-2 lead going into the second leg of their Europa League semi-final against Roma.
He continued: “Of course it has be a united football club to make things grow, you need to give it patience, I’m hopeful that in time we can unite and come together.
“Friction and challenge is sometimes good to move things forward, the last few weeks have been difficult. I’ve had backing. I’ve been put in charge and responsible for results and football matters.
“I understand fans want to see results and trophies hopefully they can see this team is moving forward, hopefully we can get to a final, that’s the short-term fix and then we’ll have to take it from there.
“I would be sad if the players’ focus was disrupted after their good work.
How the May calendar looks for both Manchester United and Liverpool as it stands

“I know our fans want a team that is playing attacking football, winning trophies, and we are working hard towards getting better results.
“We want to be a Manchester United team and I know that for our fans results are important.
“My responsibility is the results – something we’re working on and that’s my responsibility. I can see that’s what the players are doing.”

Gary Neville forms ‘pundit army’ including Sky Sports AND BT Sport analysts to counter threat of new breakaway league

GARY NEVILLE has formed a ‘pundits army’ WhatsApp group in the aftermath of the failed European Super League, according to reports. The Manchester United legend played a prominent role in publicly fighting the ESL during its short-lived launch.

And he is equally passionate about staving off future potential coups from greedy owners.
Neville, 46, is a key figure in Sky Sports’ football coverage.
But, for the good of the game, he is stepping across broadcasting lines to unify with BT Sport pundits.
The former England star has created a WhatsApp group, featuring some of the biggest names in UK punditry.
Alongside his fellow Sky Sports stalwart Jamie Carragher, Neville has introduced the likes of Gary Lineker, Rio Ferdinand, Steve McManaman and Jake Humphrey from BT to the chat.
According to the Mail, these pundits recognise that they can play a huge part in protecting the values that fans hold dearest in the game.
And their roles at rival broadcasters doesn’t have to separate them on football’s biggest topics.
The aim is to be able to present a single, unified voice on the biggest threats to the English game – including a future further ESL attempt.

Pundits have already communicated via the chat, and another call between the them is set to take place today.
After the Super League’s ‘launch’ just over a fortnight ago, Neville and Carragher led the public charge against it, with an impassioned Monday Night Football appearance the following day.
Chelsea fans then produced large scale protests 48 hours later, before the whole project came crashing down.
Further fan unrest has followed since, as supporters of the ‘Big Six’ show their fury towards owners that threatened to rip them away from English football.
Arsenal fans rallied against already unpopular owner Stan Kroenke, with protests prior to their 1-0 defeat to Everton.
And Manchester United fans dramatically followed suit on Sunday, having their match with Liverpool postponed after thousands gathered outside Old Trafford – with some even making their way inside the stadium.
Neville emphatically backed the fans on the matter, defending their right to take a stand and returning a protester’s fist bump at the Theatre of Dreams.
