PHIL FODEN fears his England team-mates will break their promise by not copying his hairstyle. The youngster got huge stick from the Three Lions squad when he turned up for Euro 2020 training with a bleached barnet, like Paul Gascoigne’s in 1996.

How England side might look with bleach-blond barnets
The Manchester City ace responded by getting the players to assure him they would all copy him if England won the tournament.
But now they are in tomorrow’s final, Foden is not convinced they will follow through on their word. He said: “I’ve told them, but I’m feeling they are not going to do it.
“We’ve still got a tough final ahead of us. If we win I’d like to think they would stick to their word, but we’ll see.”
Foden was sidelined for England’s final training session with a ‘minor knock’.
The 21-year-old says Gareth Southgate’s squad know Wembley will be rocking for the final and warns it is vital England stars do not get distracted by the occasion.
And he revealed the players have been trying to relax in the build-up to facing Italy, by staying on top of the events in TV’s Love Island.
Foden added: “There will be so many emotions with the fans. The players have to stay focused and treat it like the first game of the tournament.
“Winning would be my proudest moment. Nothing can beat lifting a major trophy with your national team.

Foden drew comparisons with Gazza’s Euro 96 look when he dyed his hair this summer
England stars could have some snazzy new haircuts soon

“We’re keeping busy with a bit of basketball, darts and pool, and I’ve obviously been watching Love Island as well.
“I’ve never played basketball before so it’s new to me. I’ve had a few shots, but I’m more of a darts player really.”
Foden, 21, started England’s opening two games in the delayed Euros, when they beat Croatia 1-0 but drew to Scotland.
He was then rested in the 2-0 victory over Czech Republic and replaced by Bukayo Saka, and has not returned to the starting XI since.

Football-mad dad gets ‘England Euro 2020 winners’ tattooed on his leg BEFORE the final

A DAD is so confident that Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions will win the Euro 2020 tournament that he got a huge victory tattoo on his leg – three days BEFORE the game. Lewis Holden, 26, from Oldham, Greater Manchester, has fully backed the England squad to beat Italy in their clash on Sunday.

Lewis and his two children will be cheering on the Three Lions on SundayCredit: MEN Media
The dad-of-two thinks football is definitely coming home, and is insisting that his new ink won’t jinx England’s chances of winning their first major tournament since 1966.
But he has admitted that he only originally planned to get the tattoo if the squad actually won the tournament after a pact with a pal.
Lewis has the words “Euro 2020. England Winners. It’s Coming Home” tattooed in huge letters on his leg, along with a trophy.
He told the Manchester Evening News: “I haven’t jinxed it, I’ve made it come home. Everybody has been saying that but it’s not going to jinx it, I’m confident.”
Lewis and his friend agreed that they would get England inspired ink if Gareth Southgate’s squad won the tournament by beating the Italians at Wembley.
But after boozing during the semi-final against Denmark he started to message local tattoo shop on social media to see when they could squeeze him in.
He got the tattoo on Friday, three days before the match against ItalyCredit: MEN Media

He said: “One replied to me saying he could fit me in tomorrow then I just forgot about it, I’d had a few beers by that point”.
Lewis’ girlfriend, Chloe Lynd, thought that her other half was a complete “idiot” when he first showed her his new tattoo but has since seen the funnier side.
He has already got several tattoos, so explained that he wasn’t “too bothered” when he was getting it done on Friday.
Lewis added: “On Monday, everybody will be queuing up for this tattoo.I might even get a Phil Foden haircut too if we win.”
The confident fan will be watching the historic match at his local pub on Sunday, and will no doubt be showing off his new ink.
But Lewis isn’t the first England fan to get a celebratory tattoo, with Teddy Allen having Gareth Southgate celebrating inked on his calf.
Teddy, 33, splashed out £500 on the tattoo, and joked he has plenty of space left should any of England’s star players score the winner in the final.

England will take on Roberto Mancini’s Italy at 8pm on Sunday, and a win would mark the men’s football team’s first major tournament win since the 1966 World Cup.
Schools and businesses signed up to The Sun’s Three Lie-Ins campaign yesterday as the nation hit fever pitch.
We called on headteachers and bosses to give pupils and staff extra time to recover on Monday after Sunday’s seismic final.
Bleary-eyed staff will be allowed to nurse their hangovers after scores of business leaders gave them Monday off.
And shattered pupils up and down the country will be allowed to slope in for 10.30am without being marked in the register as absent or late.
The game would end at around 10pm if it did not go to extra time, but if it ended in a draw or penalties it would likely end closer to 11pm.

Some have chased stardom of their own with performing careers as pop singers and dancers.
While others have sought the limelight through modelling and reality TV.

Sophie Walker – The beauty queen

    Age now: Early 20s
Spurs keeper Ian Walker wasn’t the first choice at Euro 96, but he was proudly included in the Three Lions squad all the same.

Aged just 18 at the time, Sophie spoke out about the difficulties of growing up with having a famous father.

“Everyone at my school would always say how jealous they were about my ‘great life’ and assumed that having a famous parent and a lot of money was a brilliant life – and I won’t lie, I was very lucky to have lived in the houses, been on the holidays, and had the toys etc.,” she told Surrey Live.
“However, when I was little I would cry and pray to God that I would give it all away to have my dad home and have a normal family.
“It is hard to explain without sounding ungrateful, but I missed him every day.”
Ian, 49, is now the goalkeeping coach at Shanghai Port F.C.
Chelsea Pearce – The equestrian champion
Age at Euro 96: Not born yet
    Age now: 23
Stuart Pearce isn’t the only member of his family to represent his country on an international sporting stage.
His daughter, Chelsea, has represented Great Britain three times in equestrian events.
Chelsea Pearce has competed on the European stage, just like her father
Horse-mad Chelsea has even won a silver medal in Eventing at the Pony European Championships.
In April, she shared a snap of herself as a young girl with her father as he captained Manchester City back to the top division in the early 2000s.
The heartwarming post came just a few weeks after Chelsea updated her followers about a scary horse-riding accident she had in Hampshire.
“I feel lucky to have walked away from it, having been kicked in the head and knocked unconscious,” Chelsea told her 8,000 followers.

But his son, Dan, traded the stadium for the clubhouse – and became a pro golfer.
“Dan is a specialist at club fitting making him as safe a pair of hands as his Dad (David Seaman) for you to be in,” Leeds Golf Centre announced when Dan joined their team back in 2012.

Tom Ince – The gaffer’s son
    Age at Euro 96: Four

As you might expect, a good few cubs of the 96 Lions have gone on to pursue their own careers as professional footballers.

Gianluca Vialli nonchalantly trots out after the coach nearly left him behind
The former Chelsea star saw the funny side
The driver threw his hands in the air when he realised someone was missing
But they almost forgot one of the key members of the coaching staff in former Chelsea star Vialli.
It was a real head-in-the-hands moment for the bus driver – literally – when he realised there was one man missing.
Clearly having not bothered to do a head count, the driver stopped the coach and out trotted Vialli wearing a flat cap to board the coach.
The pair enjoyed a little joke before the 57-year-old boarded and they were able to set off.
    ITALY ON A RUN
Italy have enjoyed a stunning tournament so far, and are now 33 games unbeaten.
Roberto Mancini has completely transformed the nation’s fortunes and it seems a far cry since they failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
And Vialli has been taken to the heart of football fans around the world.
His wild celebrations after Italy sneaked past Austria 2-1 after extra-time in the last 16 went viral.

England FA hit with £25,000 fine after fan shone laser pen at Schmeichel before Kane’s Euro 2020 semi-final penalty

THE FA have been slapped with a £25,000 fine for a number of ‘disturbances’ that took place during England’s Euro 2020 semi-final with Denmark – including the shining of a laser in Kasper Schmeichel’s eye.England booked their place in the final of the competition with a 2-1 victory over the Danes at Wembley.

But Uefa promptly opened disciplinary action against the FA for a number of incidents that took place before and during the match – including a fan shining a laser pointer in Schmeichel’s eye moments before Harry Kane’s spot-kick.
And European football’s governing body have subsequently hit the FA with a £25,000 penalty.
Fan’s deployment of flares before the match also played a part in Uefa’s decision to sanction the English governing body.
The booing of the Danish national anthem from some Three Lions fans also prompted disciplinary action.
In their written reasons for the charge, UEFA called the booing a ‘disturbance caused by its supporters during the national anthem.’
Prime Minister Boris Johnson was among those to condemn the small minority’s actions.
BETTING SPECIAL – Get McGregor to win by knockout, TKO or DQ at 40/1

A spokesperson for the PM said: “We don’t want fans to be booing teams.
“We want fans to be showing support and being respectful.
“Uefa are looking into that, that’s a matter for them but it’s not something we would want to see.”
Victory over the Danes saw Gareth Southgate’s side set up a mouth-watering final against Italy.
And former England international Gary Lineker has urged fans not to boo the Italian anthem.

He said: “If you’re lucky enough to get a ticket for the final, please, please don’t boo the Italian anthem.
“It’s an absolute belter and worth listening to. It’s bloody rude, disrespectful and utterly classless.”
The win over Denmark saw Southgate exorcise the ghosts of Euro 1996, in which he missed the crucial penalty in The Three Lions’ semi-final shootout with Germany.
After the final whistle, he said: “I’m so proud of the players. It’s an incredible occasion to be a part of – we knew it wouldn’t be straightforward.
“We said to the players we’ll have to show our resilience and come back from some setbacks, and we’ve done that tonight.
“The most pleasing thing is that we’ve given our fans and our nation a fantastic night, and the journey continues on for another four days.
“There’s one more massive hurdle to try to conquer. Italy are a very good side.
“They’ve shown outstanding form and have defensive warriors at the back who have been through everything. It’s something to look forward to.” More

England heroes train for last time ahead of Euro 2020 final with Italy but Phil Foden sits out due to ‘minor knock’

The squad completed their final training session but Foden was sidelined due to a ‘minor knock’, England confirmed.
But in better news, the Manchester City forward and the other 25 players passed their Uefa mandated PCR coronavirus tests.
Foden, 21, started England’s opening two games in the delayed Euros, when they beat Croatia 1-0 but drew to Scotland.
He was then rested in the 2-0 victory over Czech Republic and replaced by Bukayo Saka, and has not returned to the starting XI since.
Saka, 19, played a key role in England’s wins over Czech Republic and then Germany until he was then ruled out against Ukraine with injury.
Jadon Sancho, 21, who is set to move to Manchester United, replaced the Arsenal forward in the 4-0 thumping over Ukraine.
But he failed to keep his place in the semi-final as Saka came back into the starting XI on the right wing against Denmark.
Foden did come on as a substitute as England progressed into their first final since winning the 1966 World Cup by beating Denmark 2-1.

⚽ ENGLAND vs ITALY EURO 2020 FINAL BETTING SPECIAL ⚽

Despite Saka’s emergence in Southgate’s side, United legend-turned pundit Gary Neville has tipped Sancho or Marcus Rashford to play against Italy.
He told Sky after the Denmark win: “I am not sure he will start Sunday. I think that might just be too much for him.
‘What he did last night, the amount he has given in this tournament, I just feel we will see somebody else.
‘I look at Chiellini and Bonucci, and I think, who wouldn’t they like to have in those wide areas, making those inside runs?
“And I actually think it could be a game for Rashford or Sancho to accompany Sterling in those wide positions.
“I think those wide positions need to be quick players, who make out to in runs, so I don’t think we will see Saka on Sunday.
“I think it might be one game too much for him.”

England’s Euro 2020 final vs Italy could be hit by FLYING ANTS as radar detects huge swarm of insects

ENGLAND’s Euro 2020 final against Italy could come under attack by FLYING ANTS. Sunday’s huge showdown at Wembley could provide a sting in the tail with a swarm of insects heading for the final after a radar showed millions of flying ants over London.

The Euro 2020 final falls within the mating season for the insects and it could spark a huge wave of flying ants at the historic game.
Adam Hart, professor of Science Communication at the University of Gloucestershire, told Sky News: “If conditions are right on Sunday there may be more than three lions on shirts at Wembley and all around the country.”
Sky News meteorologist Kirsty McCabe said: “Usually, signals from creatures like insects are filtered out by the Met Office’s network of weather radars.
“But on flying ant days, the swarms are so large they can dominate the signal.”
Flying ants have affected big sporting occasions in London in previous years with players complaining of a critter attack during Wimbledon.
Gareth Southgate’s side will not want any pesky distractions at Wembley with England in their first major final for 55 years.

Stones insists fellow England hero Sterling should be named player of the tournament ahead Euro 2020 final against Italy

JOHN STONES believes Manchester City pal Raheem Sterling should be named Euro 2020 player of the tournament. The 26-year-old forward has been in sensational form to help England reach their first major final since 1966.

Sterling scored two match-winning goals in the group stages before breaking the deadlock in the last-16 clash with Germany and later setting-up Harry Kane for his opener against Ukraine.
The ex-Liverpool attacker also won the controversial penalty that led to Kane eventually firing the Three Lions to a 2-1 victory over Denmark to set-up a crunch showdown with Italy.
Ahead of the final against the Azzurri tomorrow, defender Stones revealed he believed Sterling has been good enough to be awarded the accolade as Euro 2020’s best player.
He said: “I’ve said it all along but I’m a big fan of Raheem’s.

“I believe and I’d love to see him get player of the tournament. What he’s done for us and the unselfish part of his game goes unspoken about.
“But as players we see it. He’s been a great threat going forward with how direct he’s been in the games and it has been great playing with him.
“I’m sure he will be giving everything on Sunday, being that direct, and hopefully get another goal and see where it takes us.”
Sterling came into the tournament on a barren run of just one goal in 16 games for City.

⚽ ENGLAND vs ITALY EURO 2020 FINAL BETTING SPECIAL ⚽

That led to him being in and out of Pep Guardiola’s team with many questioning whether he should start for his country.
Stones has hailed Sterling for his power of recovery and is desperate to see him light up Wembley again against Italy.
He added: “I couldn’t be happier for him.
“He has gone through some difficult times personally and I can only speak from my point of view and what I have been through, but you can see it has motivated him and he has come out the other end a better player.
“That is what top, top players do. They find something or they find a way when something isn’t going well to succeed and excel as a person and as a player and Raheem has done that on and off the pitch.
“So all I can say is that he really deserves it.”
